Must-See Spots in Tokyo & Osaka!
The TOKIMEKI Express races into Tokyo and Osaka, Japan’s two leading cities! With the live show just around the corner, we asked the cast, who are running at full throttle, for their top recommendations at the venues♪
Aguri Onishi-san (Ayumu Uehara)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
Odaiba offers beautiful views, and its appeal lies in being able to take it easy while gazing out at the ocean! With plenty of shops and cafes to choose from, I think you’ll enjoy a relaxing time there.
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
Osaka has the best takoyaki! Crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside, it’s so tasty you’ll find yourself eating one after another. Since the flavor varies from shop to shop, I’d encourage you to find your favorite!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
The 8th Live is designed to immerse you in the world of Nijigasaki The Movie Part 2. It’s packed with so much to enjoy, so I’d be delighted if you could join us! I’m looking forward to spending a wonderful time with you all!
Mayu Sagara-san (Kasumi Nakasu)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
My top recommendation in Tokyo is “Torinoiru Cafe” in Sendagi! It’s a unique spot where you can interact with medium- to large-sized birds in a soothing space that bird lovers will find irresistible. For food, check out “Hotate Biyori.” Be sure to try their delicious tsukemen, a taste you can only get there!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I highly recommend “Spa World” in Osaka! You can enjoy baths from around the world, indoor pools, and water slides; it’s been one of my favorite places since I was a kid. Food-wise, I recommend the kitsune udon at “Dotonbori Imai” inside Shin-Osaka Station. The Kansai-style broth and sweet-and-savory fried tofu are to die for!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
We're the “TOKIMEKI Express mechanics!?” this time, which is a unique concept, so make sure to pay attention to our costumes! If you’re excited to see what songs we’ll be performing, you’re in for a treat. We’ve packed the show full of great stuff, so don’t miss a single moment from start to finish!
Kaori Maeda-san (Shizuku Osaka)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
Since Odaiba is, after all, the setting for Nijigasaki, I hope you'll check it out if you have the time! I also personally like Takeshita Street in Harajuku. It was the first place I visited for sightseeing in Tokyo, and I was amazed by how colorful everything was.
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I often visit Osaka for events and concerts, and the food there is truly delicious! The takoyaki melts in your mouth, and it has a flavor you can only find there! Also, there’s a sauna and spa in Osaka called Daitoyo, and it's a really incredible place! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves saunas and baths!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
Since the theme this time is travel, we’ll be dressing up as mechanics to welcome you all! Let’s have a blast together!
Miyu Kubota-san (Karin Asaka)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
First and foremost, I really hope you’ll visit Odaiba, the setting of Nijigasaki! I want you to actually go to all the places you’ve seen in the anime and games, and get a sense of the moments the members shared there! In particular, you absolutely must visit the building where Karin-chan decided to be a school idol in Season 1 of the TV anime...!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I’d love to visit the places the members went to in Nijigasaki The Movie Part 2! I want to recreate Rina-chan’s call-and-response at Tennoji Zoo!! When it comes to food, 551’s pork buns are really famous, but I also love their shumai, so if you haven’t tried them yet, you definitely should!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
It’s been ages since we’ve had a numbered Nijigasaki concert, and I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone together on stage. I have a feeling that you, reading this, feel the same way I do!! I’d be so happy if you could take in every bit of the thrill of Nijigasaki! Let’s make it a wonderful day!
Natsumi Murakami-san (Ai Miyashita)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
As a Tokyo native, I often take my friends from out of town to Asakusa! I show them the Kaminarimon Gate, we grab some street food and sushi, and then we head over to the Skytree to do some shopping. That way, they get to experience the best of Tokyo!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
Whenever I go to Osaka, I always get takoyaki and Rikuro’s cheesecake! Lately I’ve also started buying pork buns, shumai, and rice dumplings at 551! I recommend them! If you’re visiting as a tourist, Dotonbori is probably the place that comes up the most! (lol)
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
I want to give it my all and have a blast, cherishing the thrills, Ai's emotions, and the connection with the other members that I felt in Nijigasaki The Movie Part 2!! Let’s enjoy it together~!!
Akari Kito-san (Kanata Konoe)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
Since Odaiba is home to Nijigasaki High, I'd really like you to visit! I want you to witness the same scenes the members saw! There are also plenty of other places to have fun there, like Joypolis and DiverCity, so I hope you enjoy yourselves!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
There are plenty of locations in Osaka that served as settings for the movie, so I hope you’ll check them out! And for me, nothing beats takoyaki! I love the soft and fluffy kind.
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
It’s been a while since our last numbered concert, so I’m looking forward to spending a great time with all of you! The mechanic costumes for this show are cute and have a fresh new design. Let’s have an amazing time together!
Coco Hayashi-san (Setsuna Yuki)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
There are so many places to choose from that it’s really hard to decide… But I’d definitely recommend Odaiba! I think the night view from Odaiba is spectacular!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
It’s a city I could visit over and over again, but what really draws me in is the tasty food! I especially love the kushikatsu!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
First of all, I'm so glad to see you again as Setsuna! I'll work hard to show you how I've grown alongside her! Let's embark on this thrilling journey together!
Maria Sashide-san (Emma Verde)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
The charm of the city, where the latest culture and trends converge, is that you’ll discover something new just by walking around! And for those familiar with Nijigasaki, there’s also “Odaiba”! Be sure to try to find the same sights the members saw!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I think this city is charming for its tasty food and the warmth of the people! “Dotonbori” is full of energy and has so many yummy options! You definitely can’t miss the takoyaki and okonomiyaki! I get the impression that most people are very friendly, and there’s an atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy yourself even if it’s your first time there!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
Since we’re performing in two cities, I’m really happy that we’ll be able to hold a concert in Osaka, the setting for Nijigasaki The Movie Part 2! It’s been a long time since all the members have shared the stage, so we’ll do our best to make you feel the joy of Nijigaku once again! Let’s get thrilled and make it the best time together!
Chiemi Tanaka-san (Rina Tennoji)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
It’s truly a cutting-edge city! There’s so much to see and do that even I still get lost sometimes (lol). It’s fun to shop the bustling streets of Shibuya and Harajuku, soak up the traditional Japanese atmosphere in Asakusa, and check out the many stylish cafes!! The culinary scene is incredibly diverse, so be sure to try all kinds of different flavors!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I love Osaka! There are so many fun places to visit, the food is delicious, and best of all, the people are so energetic that just being there gives me a boost of energy!!! Of course, there’s takoyaki and okonomiyaki, but trying street food is also a great time, so make sure to come with an empty stomach!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
The sense of unity and excitement in the venue is what makes live performances so special! That’s why I love them so much!! This concert feels different and extra special to me, so I want to treasure every moment and enjoy the stage together with Rina-chan. Let’s create the best memories together! I can’t wait to see you there!
Moeka Koizumi-san (Shioriko Mifune)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
I highly recommend Asakusa! It’s really lively, you can see historic buildings, and there are plenty of restaurants. You can also take a houseboat cruise and enjoy a view of the Rainbow Bridge!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
The Tennoji area seems like a great place to explore! Visit the zoo, check out Tsutenkaku Tower, and enjoy the night scenery from Abeno Harukas. The next day, head to the Kaiyukan Aquarium or Universal Studios Japan! And you have to try the local flour-based dishes!!!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
This concert carries the feelings of Nijigasaki The Movie Part 2. Personally, since I’m from Kansai, I’m so happy to be performing at my dream venue, Osaka-jo Hall! I’m going to fuel up on some tasty treats and give it my all to have the time of my life!
Shu Uchida-san (Mia Taylor)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
Tokyo is a fabulous city where tradition and innovation blend together! You can experience both charming places steeped in history and futuristic areas like Shibuya and Shinjuku. My personal favorite spot in Tokyo is Yoyogi Park!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I think Osaka is a very warm and welcoming city! It has a rich culinary culture, with plenty of mouthwatering foods like takoyaki, akashiyaki, and kushikatsu! Another appealing aspect is its vibrant atmosphere, stemming from its deep-rooted tradition of comedy. It’s a friendly city that fills both your stomach and your heart. My personal recommendation is the Umeda Sky Building!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
This time, we’ll be holding concerts in two cities—Tokyo and Osaka—so I hope even more people will be able to enjoy the show. From seeing the growth of each member to performing some songs with all twelve members for the first time… I think this concert is packed with so many exciting things, so please come and enjoy it to the fullest! We’ll be waiting for you at the venue!!!
Akina Homoto-san (Lanzhu Zhong)
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
When you think of Nijigasaki, Odaiba is the place to go! Tokyo has a wide variety of tourist spots, but I think Odaiba is a wonderful place no matter how many times I visit. They often hold Nijigasaki collabs and fair events there, the views are great (especially the night view), and there are plenty of family-friendly attractions and great restaurants to choose from!
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
My family home is in Osaka, so I go back there often. There’s a kind of warmth about it that just makes me feel at ease. Sure, it can get a bit noisy at times (lol), but even with that energy, it’s the sort of place that just naturally brings a smile to your face. Of course, there’s lots of delicious food, like piping-hot takoyaki, but I really think it’s the down-to-earth nature of the people there that’s so charming!
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
Let’s all hop on the TOKIMEKI Express and set off for the 8th Live! That’s right, we’re actually going to be the mechanics~! We’ll be working hard to get everything in tip-top shape, so please get ready to be totally thrilled!
Hinaki Yano-san (Yu Takasaki (Special Guest))
Q. What places would you recommend in Tokyo?
Whenever I think of Tokyo, Ai-chan's favorite monja is definitely up there! That said, the city is amazing because you can find basically anything there. My current obsession is malatang. Trends change so fast I can’t keep up... Has the Dubai chocolate mochi craze already blown over?
Q. What places would you recommend in Osaka?
I’d say takoyaki… but the udon is good too. The broth is different from what you get in the Kanto region, so even if it’s just instant udon, I really want you to try comparing the two! I also love how the moving walkways in Tokyo say “Please stand still,” while in Osaka they say “Please keep moving.” It really shows how impatient we are. I’ve got Kansai blood running through my veins, so I’m impatient too.
Q. A few words about the 8th Live!
So, this time, they’re not only getting ready for the live show for us, but also doing maintenance and repairs!? Well then, that means we’ve got to be even more prepared than usual to cheer them on. Let’s do our own maintenance by not only listening to and watching the songs, but also by building up our affection to shout out our love for them, and taking good care of our health! I’m really looking forward to both Osaka and Tokyo!!!!
