Did you miss me? || Kitty&Elric
It had been a little over a year since Elric’seldest daughter of darkness had resided within the familial home. By no meanswas it the first time that Kitty had left her vampiric family to liveelsewhere, she was over five-hundred-year-old after all. Kitty’s travel planswere as random as they were surprising. One memorable example being once evenexcusing herself from a family gathering to grab a snack only to call from an airportletting them know she was headed to Thailand because she had a hankering forthe street food. No, her being apart from the family was not unusual, what wasunusual however was how she kept in contact.
Due to modern advances intechnology, when Kitty had darted off to travel the world again or adopt thelifestyle of human farmer for example, she had always called, and then videocalled. 2021 though, the Francia bloodline had only received letters, emails, photosand extravagant gifts from her travels. The reason being; Kitty knew the momentshe spoke to either her siblings or her father… she would confess. And while thefamily were accustomed to her misbehaviour, her recent actions were not soeasily forgiven, and she did hate to disappoint her father. In all truth, Kittywas still hoping to avoid the fall out of telling Elric the truth. Shecontinued to delude herself into thinking that Elric might assume Kitty hadfallen in love yet again and chased that love around the world as she was proneto do, and no other questions would need asking, but… she also knew her fatherknew Kitty better than that. Kitty was fiercely loyal, and often a little tooreliant on her family, and as such, it just was not like her to avoid talkingwith them.
The clock struck five o’clock andthe family home would find one Catherine Francia in Elric’s master bedroom.Champagne glass in hand, listening to Pastyme wt good copanye, or more commonlyknown as The King’s Ballad on a pair of speakers she had dumped on her father’sbedside cabinet. The tall blonde pranced around his room, admiring herreflection in his mirrors. She wore one of Elric’s suits and a pair of her ownheals, the combination of which she was utterly in awe of.
“It’s still a little big thoughisn’t it Skippy?” Kitty crooned at her old cocker spaniel who sat on the cornerof the bed watching at her with tired eyes. The Vampiress posed in front of themirror, tossing the length of the suit jacket behind her and slipping her handinto the pants pocket as she admired her reflection. In her heals, Kitty stood fivefoot, eleven inches. She had made a bizarrely tall Tudor woman when the averageheight for women had been five foot, five inches. As a modern vampire, Kittyfelt she better suited, even more reason to be grateful to Elric; for grantingher the opportunity to live in a world where a woman like her could exist withoutpersecution. Vampire hunting aside.
“I think I look rather handsomethough, don’t you think… père?” she used the French word for father then, because it was the first language besides English Elric and Kitty had used tocommunicate with one another.
Elric knew immediately when someone new was in his house. He used his vampiric speed to get to his room only to revert back to human speed after seeing his daughter in his room. “Dégoûtant que... dog...” Elric made a face seeing the dog on his bed and quickly shooed it off his bed. “All that heel and still my pants touch the ground because you are not tall enough. But in a more fitted suit yes you would.” Elric gave Kitty the compliment she wanted. He pulled off his own coat and folded it putting it on the bed seat.
“It is good to see you again Catherine.” Elric sat down on the bed seat looking at the daughter he had not seen in a while. “Imagine my surprise when I was told you left and more so when I had to receive gifts and letters.” Elric didn’t want to go into how dearly he missed his daughter when she’d basically cut them off with radio silence. Instead of coming out and just asking where she’d been all these years he instead grabbed the champagne bottle and made a face.
“I see you’ve taken the liberty of raiding my wine cellar.” Elric rarely used the cellar but he felt the need to create one when it first became popular and adding a trap door in the pantry had been fun. It also doubled as a bomb shelter and the walls almost made it like a dungeon. The add-on had been worth the money he’d spent on it. “I suppose you did not come back just to raid my home,” Elric mused setting the bottle down once more. “What do you require Catherine?”
