Like Uncle, Like Niece? || Lucius and Andrea
Andrea only nodded in response at her uncle’s question and followed his lead in placing the food onto her plate as soon as he finished doing so. Of course, her portion was much smaller than his, but then again, it wasn’t anything new. Ever since her father was taken to Azkaban, she didn’t eat much. The girl ate her dinner in silence, every now and then taking a sip of water before eventually setting her fork and knife down and wiping her mouth with the napkin. She remained sitting in her spot, glancing at her uncle before fixing her gaze to her hands which were now folded in her lap. ”Uncle?” She spoke after a while of silence, looking at Lucius again. ”I… I want to apologize for my behaviour. I know I’m not acting as a proper pureblood is supposed to act and I just try to fake that happiness and excitement of my young life, though in truth I’m still trying to cope with the fact that my father’s in Azkaban. And while trying to compensate and replace worry and sadness with happiness, I do things I’m not supposed to do. I’m sorry.”
Lucius ate slowly, not feeling hungry at all, his mind drifting back to the Death Eater meeting a couple of nights ago. The Dark Lord had wished to discuss an attack on a muggle school. And Lucius would be the one leading it. Though he had felt proud at first, not believing his luck for his Master seldom trusted people who had messed up once with another important task, but now Lucius had begun to worry about this attack. Was he really ready to kill innocent children, even if they were the offspring of Muggles? It wasn't as if he actually had a choice about this, but would he be able to live with himself afterwards?
At first he didn't even hear her, only when he reached out to pick up his goblet filled with wine did he turn to look at her. "Hm?" He asked, momentarily confused. "Oh.. apology accepted." He didn't really care about her social skills after all, with more pressing matters at hand. "I of all people would know hoe horrible Askaban is. And it's no surprise that you are worried for your father." He spoke as if he wasn't a family member at all.
