i'm beginning to accept the fact that I will never have an empty drafts folder.
Iâm confident that if I were to roleplay a popular canon character I would have a really popular blog. But Iâm just not as into the fandoms that are big on tumblr. Itâs frustrating at times.
I once met someone who was literally roleplaying themself! It made me feel so uncomfortable. She admitted to writing herself to "finally get to meet the characters she loved," wrote in first person, and used gifs made on gifsoup that she'd acted out in front of her webcamera. I'm not saying you aren't allowed to do it, I was just far too uncomfortable of a situation for me to roleplay counter to her.
When a rp seems to be heading towards a dark theme or topic (i.e. rape) it really bothers me to get a nastygram from the partner telling me to read their rules page where they mention they fade to black for that sort of thing, when on my rules page it says the same thing! I By accusing me of not reading your page, you've outted the fact that you haven't read mine. Don't be a hypocrite.
If the writer is willing, I like to help people flesh out their OCs through in-character interactions.
I really dislike playing female muses, and I feel like I get judged a lot for that, especially in the fandom I roleplay in.
It's such a pleasure to read the nice things people put it the tags when they reblog my promo graphic! My partners are so kind and sweet just in reblogging the promo by itself, but when they include something sweet in the tag as well my heart just melts and I'm reminded of how fortunate I am to have such friendly people to be roleplaying with.
It really, really irritates me when I tell someone Iâm not comfortable with something, they say they understand, but then they go ahead and do it anyway! This applies to anything really, not just roleplay, but I see it a lot here and it drives me mad! Just the other night, I told someone that because of the nature of one of their muses I wasnât comfortable roleplaying with them (that character), and then the next day, I posted an open starter and they replies to it with that character. Really? Thatâs so rude. Donât make me the bad guy.Â
I rarely, if ever, ask someone for an RP immediately after following them. By following, Iâm indicating a casual interest in the character they RP as, but I still need time to observe their writing style, their interactions with other partners, how they handle their RP account in general, and many other things. There are a lot of factors that go into my decision to actually approach someone and ask for an interaction, and it can take me a month or more to decide sometimes.
I have never had a 'like for starter' post work for me.
If you find yourself responding to only one ship while the rest of your ships fall by the way side, maybe consider becoming a single-ship blog. It sucks to feel like youâre being strung along.Â
It bothers me when people ignore their own rules. i know that everyone does it with certain partners, but doing it constantly, exempting one person from the rule but yelling at everyone else who tries, gets really frustrating. Decide what you want or change your rules.
Although I am not an anti-sjw or anti-sj, I find it frustrating when a roleplayer brings up social justice issues in a thread that had nothing to do with the problem. There's a time and place for things like that, and you can even make OOC posts about it, but if the thread has nothing to do with it, then please don't force it in there. I came to have fun, not be reminded how my rights are in danger.
I have become completely smitten by my RP partner's OC.
I've ended up joining fandoms through their RP communities. There were some I'd never even heard of until a blog from the fandom followed me. After some threads, I got really interested in the world and the characters and started looking into them.
