This chalkboard makes me want to order 100 of them.
One of Bloomberg's worst legacies will be the incredible loss of beloved neighborhood businesses and restaurants over his 12 years in office.

It’s important to get involved, because poor city planning leads to irresponsible overdevelopment. Click on image for more details.
This is a quick piece I did last week with one of my new favorite Art Directors Erich Nagler for the cover of yesterday’s Sunday Styles section in The New York Times. The article was about young creatives moving out of NY due to the high cost of living, and is an interesting read for anyone in a similar situation (myself included). Working on this was a nice change of pace from what I have been doing recently. I have been really trying to make my colors brighter by using vintage comic book palette’s to really make things pop, and I think that this is my first real successful use of such a palette. Working with NYT is always a treat, but especially when the work comes out much much better than you had originally expected it to.

Newspaper street art is my kind of installation. Spotted in Greenpoint on Bedford Avenue alongside McCarren Park, I liked the juxtaposition between the newspaper and the tree. So many trees die because we waste paper. Putting the very natural source of paper next to a newspaper snake reminds the viewer that our printed news information is first birthed from mother nature.
there is a conflicting process at work; as North Brooklyn is planned now, over the next decade, the actual amount of mixed-use commercial space will dramatically decrease. As the demand for above street level non-retail commercial space goes up, new development in our area will be predominantly residential without any mixed-use space for the new creative economy. And instead of continuing to develop as a vibrant cultural and economic engine, the new North Brooklyn will effectively become an inner ring suburb [and be economically consumptive rather than generative].

I tried to look up Crest Hardware in Williamsburg to see if they cut lumber to size and they don't have an actual website, only a tumblr. (ノ-`д´-)ノ ︵ ┻━┻
I saw my first baby and small child brunching at Matchless. The end is nigh.
I think they’ve got it backwards. It’s American to be proud… Oh and the flag too. #nyc #brooklyn #greenpoint #america
Innocent mistake or nefariously brilliant social commentary? You chose.
