I haven't done traditional art in such a long time that this has been an absolute joy to do. Pencils, pens, markers, white pencil, and white gel on tan toned paper.

Alexandra, oil on canvas, 40×30 cm
Another one of @re--ignite, this time with real paints (I usually do digital portraits of her).
Aretha, oil on canvas, 20×30 cm
Long time no see. 5min and a 20min pose from today’s practice. Not life drawing, just from photoref. Done with Procreate so they even have timelapses (on Insta).
I made a small fan page for Weilard’s book covers that have versions for all 4 seasons. Check it out here.
What happens when you merge an artist and a game developer? You get Matej Jan. We had the pleasure of interviewing Matej recently where he spoke to us about what drew him into the field of game development and what he hopes to see newcomers in this industry think about. One of his own game projects was also started via crowdfunding. LiveEdu is using crowdfunding via Indiegogo to help expand our premium project tutorial catalogue. The success of this campaign will hopefully lead to more developers who think about game development in the same way that Matej does. Matej Jan
I did a fun, short interview with LiveEdu about my views on game development and crowdfunding.
I also share my advice for game designers and my top 10 life wisdom … as much as you can be wise at 33, lol.
This happened sooner than I though: 20% OFF and FREE SHIPPING in my shop is today!
The biggest print (34"x28") is just $33.6 + tax. You want that one if you have the space since the original artwork was 40"x32". Smaller versions are available too.
After today the price will go up significantly since I will put my own margin in too (me spamming you is purely altruistic, a thank you for following me here).
Get it here.
Cardinal City print came out great!
The resolution is amazing, it's a perfect reproduction. You can even see all the pencil marks on the edges.
It's available in my Society6 shop and it's currently set with a $0 profit to me, so it's as cheap as possible. If you wait a while, S6 also often does free shipping days (and even 20% off promos).
I'll let you know when those come and after that's over, the prices will go up (so I can make a small income).
Link to the store (it's also available printed on canvas): society6.com/product/cardinal-city_print
I'm finally preparing prints of my Cardinal City illustration. If you have infinite money, the way to get it is at 35"x28" in a black floater frame (pictured). Only $339.
The more normal way to get it will be a giclée art print at 10x less. I'll set the price without a margin for a while, so followers can get it as cheap as possible.
I've just ordered my test proof (of the art print, not the canvas lol) and when it arrives later this week, I'll let you guys know how it looks.
And a surf movie.
I made a new slo-mo travel video.
Machu Picchu, pencil sketch drawn from life at location (Linea), watercolors done afterwards on the train ride/flight home (ArtRage by @ambient-design).
One more from iPad Pro, this time Linea app.
Reignite 6
I wanted to see if I can still do this. And if that traditional painting class did me any good. First time doing it in ArtRage on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. To be honest, I cheated with the reference way more than I used to.

Day at the Beach
My final work in the drawing/painting class I was taking this summer. This one is plein air watercolors at a beach near Santa Cruz.
Now I'm returning to pixel art which is what you know me for, so you don't have to worry about being spammed with my traditional works for a while.
Desolation
My final oil painting in a summer class I'm taking (this is my attempt to learn traditional oil painting to inform my digital technique, but also to have some fun with physical things).
This one is trying to be more impressionistic and uses cold wax as the medium (liquin for dryer). It's definitely the painting I enjoyed most making although it's far from being something very interesting. I'm inspired by Jeremy Mann, but, well, that's for 10 years in the future.
