diondra-grey:
Diondra tried to catch her footing, but gravity had already taken hold and she felt her foot slip off the narrow step. Her heart sunk in sudden fear - pounding away in her chest. She expected a nasty fall, she expected the guards to catch up with her. She expected failure and punishment. But her arm was caught and suddenly her body was level again, pressed against the one whoâd caused her unbalance in the first place. She quickly identified him as a vampire and more warning bells went off in the young shewolfs head.Â
But her main focus was on the guards as a low, quiet growl rumbled in her chest, as if she dared them to come at her again. She glanced down at her arm, where the other still held her still. Diondra wasnât sure if she trusted this trade off. And yet, she did not move or struggle from his hold. In a sense he had saved her after all.Â
She glanced up, catching the look in the vampires eyes and then toward the guards - who acted as if she hadnât just tore parts of them to pieces, Her eyes were locked on their backs as she spoke in a low tone. âDid you want to be next?â Her body was tense beside him.
âI find that highly unlikely.â He furrowed his brows as if the mere thought of her tearing him to shreds had even cross his mind. âThey canât feed you more than minimum in here. You donât smell like wolfs bane, but youâre definitely not strong enough to take me on.â He gripped her arm tighter, forcing her to look at him. âYouâre really not.â Turning, he switched his hand with the other and led her out, and into the court yard. âItâs not wise to escape guards, let alone escape from the cells. You get out of there, you still have to find your way out of the manor, which is tough all on itâs own because this is an island. And with no food in your system? Even worse.âÂ
