A more finalised version of previous drawing
Process of roughly tracing previous a drawing to work out angles
My practice focuses on the combination of architecture and plant life reclaiming space once belonging to nature. My current research looks at hydroponics and green walls, along with urban green spaces, and the ways architecture can begin to incorporate nature.
During my research I discovered the Geisel Library in San Diego. The building was designed by architect William Pereira distinctively brutalist with elements of futurism. This is the building these drawings are based on.
My idea for the drawings was to find sections of the building with similarities to natural forms and then to develop drawings which would introduce plant life within the architecture. First, I would roughly draw the original building, and then trace and retrace each previous drawing adding more plant life to it where I could imagine it growing naturally.
