Math for Students in Grade 4 Vancouver
Registration for Math Circles is now open! Math Circles is an enrichment program for students in Grades 5-12. Classes are planned to be offered both in-person and online for the 2022/23 school year.
Math Potentials offers Online Math For kids in Vancouver and teaches children to enjoy and experience success in the learning of these subjects.
Math and science education in Vancouver teaches children to enjoy and experience success in the learning of these subjects. Math Potentials provides a conducive environment for students to grow in their abilities and confidence.
In Strategic Math, you will learn clever techniques to do seemingly hard computations with ease and joy. Become skillful with numbers for success in school and beyond! In this course, children learn a series of clever techniques for simplifying computational problems and avoiding unpleasant calculations.
The curriculum draws upon Singapore Math, which aims to develop mathematical concepts for mastery. The learning process proceeds from concrete, through pictorial (models and diagrams as tools for thinking mathematically), to the abstract.

Gateway Mathematics students will learn how to solve challenging, multi-step word problems with understanding and confidence by using a visual method known as the Singapore Math Bar Model. The Bar Model approach is key in developing proportional reasoning which is a gateway to algebraic thinking.
In Strategic Math, you will learn clever techniques to do seemingly hard computations with ease and joy. Become skillful with numbers for success in school and beyond! In this course, children learn a series of clever techniques for simplifying computational problems and avoiding unpleasant calculations. These techniques build on each other throughout the course, forming a well connected, coherent curriculum.
Math Circles classes are planned to be offered both in-person and online for the 2022/23 school year. Math Circles online is taught in a "flipped classroom" format where students watch an on-demand video or engage with a learning path prior to attending class.

Homework will have both online and real life components such as mini lab activities, experiments with online physics simulators, and creating short videos of experiments done at home. Students should expect to spend 2-3 hours per class on their homework.

This course is designed for students entering Grades 5 - 8 in September who have not attended Math Circles previously. It will also be beneficial to Math Circles students who have just completed Alpha or Beta but joined late in the year or simply feel they could use a review of the Singapore Math Bar Model.
