I have a background in talent management, specifically for idols, as well as some administrative experience. But rest assured, I'm comfortable branching out into related industries and fields. I can also offer support for general life-related advice, too, if necessary.

It's come to my attention that there are some other, less qualified blogs that have popped up offering advice. While it's up to each individual's discretion to decide who to seek consultation from, it's always better to have the best options possible. I also believe it's the responsibility of every user of any particular platform to properly identify and combat misinformation.

What's the next big trend in the idol world?

Predicting trends isn't as easy as it looks... But personally, I think something more intimate would be more appealing to fans than most agencies realize! These days we have things like social media to connect with our idols through! It's not like back in the day where they only gave out autographed photos. And handshake events can be personal, but they're only twenty seconds. Think about how stressful that is on the artist! Having to familiarize herself with all those people in such a short span of time!

A lot of artists have their instant messages on their social media platforms closed... Which is understandable! But, with a dedicated manager by her side, she has someone to filter out the weirdos from the true devoted fans! Even just a short, one on one conversation with an idol can mean the world to them! They never respond to replies or comments anyway.

This is what sets apart a disconnected business-level manager from an up and coming entrepreneur with real life experience on both sides! Once you've lived in the business world long enough, you start to lose touch with what the customer base really wants! Many of them may have forgotten what it's like to just be a fan! It's a hard balance to strike, which is why it's important to have someone with the industry knowledge.

In a time like this, the best way to get a job is to make one of your own. There's countless opportunities now, from streaming, content creation, video editing; obviously, I took up a managerial position. You have to play to your strengths. Alternative forms of work are in right now, you know. Innovative new careers with the rise of technology and social media make it much easier now.

Alternatively, find something that's motivating. Girls are at least a slight factor in my career choice.. But of course that isn't all of it! Having industry specific knowledge is what really supports my work.

What's your advice on wanting to start an Idol career? I want to find my niche ✨️

Well, there's a lot of steps that go into finding your niche... Sometimes it develops alongside your career itself.

You really have to have your finger on the pulse of the industry and the fanbase. Be sensitive to how the fans respond; if they like something, even if it's just a minor shift, be responsive to it! It's a fine balance between being liked and disliked. Sometimes there are undergrounds niches that can still be fairly successful, even if they aren't mainstream, but those are harder to get into. However, they're more secure if you can find your footing in them.

Of course, if you need more specific guidance for your career, I'm available for hire as a full time manager! It helps to have someone well connected and well informed.

Do you need a gimmick to be an idol? Like Nyaa-Chan's cat persona? I don't know what gimmick I would choose if so :( Do you have any ideas? What kind of idol is the world lacking?

Hmm… Not necessarily.

But rather than thinking of what the world is lacking, try to aim for what the world is wanting. Just because there isn’t an idol with a particular gimmick doesn’t mean it’ll be popular; there might just not be any demand for one.

Of course, I’m happy to offer some ideas! Currently, streamers and V-tubers seem to be popular. Many streamers signed with popular V-tuber agencies like Hololive will also get songs to perform, thus overlapping their fandom into the idol scene. But that does limit you to being entirely virtual…

Otherwise, try aiming for popular anime tropes. A cute tsundere attitude remains a favorite among most fans! Cat girls have also been a classic for a while, but what about magical girls? You could even have an alternate outfit with a school uniform! I’m sure that’ll be very popular.

Alright, here's a challenge: I wanna be a super popular idol, but I can't sing worth a dime. I also refuse to lip sing, as I want to be honest with my fans, but I don't want them to know I suck at singing. I also demand your office has 500 apples peeled and de-cored before I get there, or I'll take my service elsewhere.

Hmm, that's quite a list of demands, but I think I can make it work.

For the singing, most people don't notice autotune if it's done well. There's also ways to apply an autotune filter onto a microphone for live performances. Otherwise, some artists choose to go a more unconventional route, and opt for more percussive, spoken word, or rap style discographies, but straying from the popular norm rarely yields high results.

And as for the apples, I'm not sure my services alone could provide that many... but if you're willing to conveniently schedule performances soon after another client of mine, I could perhaps offer a complimentary fish or two.

Of course.

Here's the spreadsheet I use to keep track of my taxes.

As you can see, I have quite a complex list of deductibles, so tax season each year is fairly stressful for me. It's cheaper to do it yourself, though, so that's why I opt for this route.

There are also multiple different forms you have to file, so I color code them on the spreadsheet to correspond to which paper form I have to fill out.

Sooooo when you say alternate payment, do you mean likeeeeee venmo or paypal or what.....

Those are fine, yes, but for any interested clients that may want a more casual or affordable transaction, I'm willing to be flexible on a case by case basis! That being said, it does depend on the exact situation, but the exchange doesn't exactly have to be monetary, for example.

My rates with Totoko varied, both due to the fact that we've been friends for a while, and because she made an offer that was agreeable to the two of us. Really, I'd just like to see our idols succeed! So I prefer to keep my services affordable.
