Our Gardens: An Update
Kicking off summer on a beautiful Pacific Northwest day with a Vespa ride to our favorite old school Italian joint.
Margaritas y Tacos de Camarón, y Los Lobos!
Memphis-style Baby Backs, Cooked Low and Slow with Smoke. Enjoyed with Sides and a Peach and Pecan Cobbler.

Air Fryer Chicken
Our first artichoke from the garden of the season, enjoyed with tuna Provençal.
Fried Razor Clams
Our French Tarragon is going gangbusters, so we made a batch of green goddess dressing, some cocktail sauce, boiled a few shrimp in Old Bay, sliced two iceberg wedges and had our first meal of the year by our garden.
Our Gardens: An Update
Happy Mother's Day! Folks, the Augusta National of croquet lawns is open for the season. Stop on by, enjoy your favorite adult beverage and swing a mallet.
I made Salmon à la Troisgros with Porcini and Pea Risotto. The sorrel and peas came from our garden. We followed that up with Cherry Clafoutis for dessert. I used the cherrywood spoon they made for us at Allegheny Treenware for the first time, to make the risotto.
We had a new fence put in to protect little Molly. She is curios and would sneak around to the front of the house where the delivery trucks drive bit too fast for our comfort. He also replaced the front gate by the garage that she figured out how to climb though. Other than that, she is a wonderful dog. The guy did a great job. It's cedar, held together with screws and the posts in two feet of concrete. The gates have very heavy duty steel hardware. He even made sure to save our clematis that is now doing very well at three years old
Heading home. Another adventure expertly planned and flawlessly executed. We spent our last day returning to Brown and Loe for lunch, and then relaxing in the lobby of The Phillips Hotel, before heading to Kansas City International for our direct flight home on Alaska Airlines. With a little luck we will be on our deck, sipping wine under the stars, and rubbing little Molly’s belly before eight PM Oregon time.
Royals prevail at Kauffman Stadium. The bottom of the fourth was a humdinger. I got a few videos of the highlights. We even arrived early enough to get complimentary Cagliaone bubbleheads, and to enjoy a Joe’s BBQ “Z-Man Sandwich”. It features onion rings and brisket on a bun. It costs the same in the stadium as it does at their downtown restaurant.
