ABOUT MATT
Matthew P from Suffolk, England delivers a unique brand of infectious acoustic folk pop. He has the ability to transport you from the strains of everyday life to a far more honest, carefree place. A troubadour in the true sense of the word, Matt’s songs come from the heart, about the experiences and people that make him stop, and think. Matt Lists Paul Simon, Neil Young, Elliot Smith, Frank Turner and many more as inspiration but maintains a unique style of his own. Having written tracks with the likes of Joel Pott (Athlete), Iain Archer (Snow Patrol) and the Hoosiers, Matt is securing a reputation as an eclectic and talented song writer, releasing two e.p's with critical acclaim on Fiction Records, Polydor - the ‘Swimming’ e.p. (2010). & ‘The Breakfast’ e.p (2011). Summer 2012 Matt releases his debut album Long Straight Lines containing an array of acoustic tracks such as 'Little you Little me', and full band performances including ‘Gilly’ & 'Long Straight Lines'. Most people in the UK will have heard his tune 'The Girl on the Platform Smiled / She Began to Dance' which featured on the Match.com advert. 'End of the World' from the Long Straight Lines album has already gained cult success through Ch4's use of it on ‘The Watchmen’ advert late 2011. Matt always delivers an eclectic mix of songs during a live performance, always willing to get to know the audience and entertain with his own brand of folk pop. Having played some big festivals and some big support tours (Stereophonics, Reef) Matt enjoys mixing it up with rural shows and smaller lazy summer festivals, meeting people and making friends, and if there’s a chance of a surf along the way, then all the better. Matt finds himself a part of a genre finding its self a home amongst a new generation. SHOWS 2012 Living Room Tour
