I keep thinking about the looks s2 is serving.

I’ve said before that how great it is all of the women only have their hair down when it’s contextually appropiate (in the bedchamber, during the festival, etc.). But I’ve just realized that there is an exception: the wedding, when Diana has her hair in that half-down, side-swept fashion. And even that is somehow okay? Loose hair can symbolize maidenhood (if I remember well, that’s why Elizabeth I’s hair is down on her coronation portrait, but I’m not sure), so it would somewhat make sense for a bride to wear her hair down?

And also: mix’n’match dresses! I’ve only paid attention to that in the first episode, but if you pay attention, you’ll see that Diana wears the same blue dress twice in the episode–only for the second time, she wears it with a different pair of sleeve, different shirt (can I call that shirt?), petticoat, stomacher, and jewelry, creating the illusion of a completely different dress. Which makes sense, as even Francoise couldn’t have made her two completely seperate dresses on such a short notice. 

Also notice that most (if not all) clothes, even the men’s, have detachable sleeves.
