Mysterious Skin (2004) dir. Gregg Araki
I would ask what's wrong with this woman, but a better question would be what isn't?
As weird as it may sound, I do think the Watchtower has a rooftop cat, like many buildings in NYC. And I think that's where Bucky finds a tiny, white ball of fluff.
Alpine.
He was sitting on the rooftop one day and the thing just trotted over and butted his leg. In pure Alpine fashion though, when Bucky went to pet her, she just hissed and walked away.
Eventually, Bucky realizes she's just like him. Takes time to warm up until she just plonks herself on him, refusing to leave.
That's how Mel finds him one day, on his floor, sitting with Alpine curled up in his lap. Mel had gone to talk about some PR opportunity but found herself lost for words when Bucky kept talking to her while completely ignoring the fact that he had a cat on his lap.
The next day, Mel offers to help him adopt the cat.
Everyone on the team, except Walker, proceeds to baby Alpine. The only reason Walker doesn't is because Alpine keeps biting him.
Bucky finds that hilarious.
Yelena: what is the one rule we have on this team
Bucky: Don't dare John to do stupid things
Yelena: And why is that?
John, with his tongue stuck to a frozen poll: Because I have no sense of self preservation and a desperate need to be praised and liked
Yelena: Exactly

I will be suing Marvel if Doomsday kills Bucky or Yelena or Bob or Walker or Alexei or Ava or Sam or Joaquin or any of the Fantastic Four or Scott Lang or Shuri or ANY CHARACTERS ACTUALLY LET ALL THE MARVEL CHARACTERS WE HAVE LEFT GROW OLD PLEASE WE’VE LOST ENOUGH
I’ve been rewatching this movie just for fun—plus, a few of my favorite characters are in it. But the more I watch, the more I start catching small details that really stand out. There’s definitely more when you look into it more.
Take the Sentry fight scene, for example.
You can tell he doesn’t fight everyone the same way—there’s a clear difference in how he handles each of them, especially Bucky and Alexei since he’s never met them before. Hence why he’s harsh with them. With Bucky, he literally catches the bullet s midair and throws it straight back at him. Later on he slams him into both the floor and the wall before ripping off his arm and tossing both aside. It’s harsh, but deliberate—but we all know he’s just trying to test how much potential and power he has.
Then there’s Alexei. Sentry throws him outside the window—could have thrown him entirely out—but decides to drag him back in, only to hurl him straight into the wall again. It’s almost excessive, like he’s testing him or trying to break that “tough guy” front Alexei always has. But then again he did try to knife Bob… so I don’t blame him throwing him out.
But when you look at how he fights Ava, Yelena, and John, it’s noticeably different. He already knows them, and you can feel that familiarity in how he moves. Sure, he still throws them down, but it’s nowhere near as brutal. It’s controlled—like he’s restraining himself, or showing a level of respect.
Bob: Why did the chicken cross the road?
John Walker: I don't know, why?
Bob: To get to the idiots house. Knock, knock?
John Walker: Who's there?
Bob: The chicken
John Walker: Listen you little shit.
Yelena: Whoa, Whoa, calm down.
Walker hates Wakandans, well, maybe just the Dora Milaje. He respects the country but the Dora Milaje kind of spoiled his opinion on them. I can imagine the Thunderbolts talking about the Wakandans (as normal people do) and seeing John's and Bucky's different views on them.
John: "I can just say we don't have the best relationship. They tried to take my head off with a spear just because I was doing my job."
Then Bucky would be like...
Bucky: "The Wakandans? Yeah, I love 'em. Gave me therapy AND a new arm. I mean, why would I dislike them?"
I forgot I made this
I just love this image. Bob is in a robe, socks and slippers and chilling in the Avengers tower reading a book with a milkshake and fries beside him. He looks happier and healthier than ever. The Thunderbolts are taking such good care of my boy I want to cry 😭
so the team has started calling bob and walker, on occasion, "walkie talkie"
Just a couple of Thunderbolts* alignment charts/headcanons. You don't have to agree, heck, I'd love if you reposted with your own take!
