because absolute power corrupts absolutely. when one has been in power for 10+ years, it's bound to get to their heads. it happened with congress right after independence. congress couldn't win in kerala in 1957. cpi came to power. the cpi govt was dismissed in 1959 under the guise of state emergency.

every political party has this flaw. hence we have a democracy. when the govt starts to act like a know-it-all, it needs to change.
