star-crossed-cass
Cass and Mav were similar in a lot of ways, including being born into large families, but chief among them was how easily they clicked with other people. It was a small part of how they got along so well with each other. And although Cass knew she could probably poke at him to get him to open up more about whatever was going on with Evie, she had no desire to, nor to tease him too much about it. The tidbits she got from Evie were enough, and other than that, Cass would just make sure she was available if he ever did want to chat. “I don’t expect anyone to just hop over the past like it was a pebble,” Cass admitted with a small shrug, pausing to take a sip of her whiskey. “But whether we like it or not, we’re all stuck with each other for the foreseeable future, and further fighting won’t help us.” She didn’t add just how far the foreseeable future could stretch - the predicament was on everyone’s minds without it being brought into the light.
Maverick sucked in a breath of air as she mentioned everyone being stuck. Of a lot of the people on board the ship, he noticed there were a few that truly wanted what was best for the overall people, which included the blending of the crews. Still, there were people who resisted the changes and would cause trouble. “I don’t know,” he said with a shrug. For Maverick, he was personally torn wanting the ships to get along and holding onto the anger he held for Travis. There was a lot of underline rage inside him and it was only a matter of time before he loses control. “Eventually things will settle down, it just isn’t going to happen overnight. Everyone here is in the same predicament and eventually difference won’t matter. Survival will.”
