Dear you,
Don't slack off and finish reading what you've started you should savour your textbooks like you do with other books
the five best books i’ve read recently
fierce femmes and notorious liars: a dangerous trans girl’s confabulus memoir, kai cheng thom - chaos, fantasy, mermaids, pain, queerness, identity, belonging, wildness, violence, sisterhood, magical realism, feminism
catherine house, elizabeth thomas - dark academia novel about depression, adolescence, being terminally online, being stuck inside because of the pandemic, suppressed longing, the simultaneous desire to disappear and belong, cults
v for vendetta, joe sacco - a uniquely nuanced portrayal of indigenous issues in northern canada, of the legacy of residential schools, of how to rebuild a community, of grief and loss and coming back together
trick mirror, jia tolentiono - social media, being a woman, going insane, biting screaming clawing scratching, cultural commentary/criticism, perceptions vs reality, feminism, capitalism
take back the tray, joshna maharaj - food, hospitality, love, communal care, finding your passion, little ways to be good
*quickly adds to the ever-growing reading list *
I’ve crossed the halfway mark of the #45daysof2021 . I compiled a list of things that I’ve improved or become better at, over all.
- better sleeping schedule. While waking up pre-sunrise is a goal, I’ve been making it a priority to get at least 6 hours of sleep a day.
- Staying consistent with studying and working out. The workouts are not everyday but, I’m making effort to make that possible soon.
- Staying true to the study goals I made and adapting. A few unexpected things came up and instead of being overwhelmed by them, I’m learning to adapt and shift focus as need.
- Improving my study-work-life balance. I took up a wfh job in a field I like during the pandemic but was planning to quit it since uni started. I called my boss last month and we discussed alternatives since working together was going really well. My work ethic wasn’t the best before, but, in the last 3 weeks, I’ve become better at managing my time and sticking to deadlines. I’ve also slashed my hours since uni started so, it’s a decent balance.
I’ll focus on the positives for now ✨
