We’ve known and heard before how there were tensions on the set (bcos of her relationship with MW) but it’s really enlightening to hear the full story from Jensen about his experience and honest feelings about her. They actually really bickered and butted heads with each other but also have moments where they have each other’s backs and were there for each other when they need it the most. Totally just like Max & Alec on the show. This TV Guide interview showed a bit of their bickering relationship on set. xD Glad that they both reconciled after the show is over and now they’re actually good friends! Jensen even wished Jessica Happy 40th Birthday on instagram ~ Now just hoping for a potential Dark Angel reunion or movie please! [Full video interview under cut!]

What makes this better to me is that Jensen was very blunt about it being a difficult working relationship, acknowledges that she was under a tremendous amount of pressure carrying a HUGE show (people forget this was James Cameron’s post Titanic pet project), and that she was fucking 19/20 at the time. I also get the impression he wasn’t overly impressed by Micheal Weatherly, a 30ish dude dating his teenage co-Star. Like. Candidly to be like “yeah she bullied me but the whole situ was kind of fucked and we had a lot of respect for each other at the end of it.”

IDK the whole story just made me even more sympathetic to the shit Alba went through without invalidating Jensen’s own less than ideal experience.

From what I heard about that story, Weatherly was the main source of problems on set, his relationship with Jessica were pretty toxic, and he was a giant asshole towards Jensen with some weird jealousy thing going on as well. The story about him counting the number of lines for their characters is even on TV Tropes asdfh:

Michael Weatherly apparently engaged in some pettiness behind the scenes like making sure he had more lines than Jensen in their scenes together and having the writers change a scene where Alec beat Logan at pool to the other way around, despite Alec having genetically enhanced skills.

It seems that Jensen and Jessica figured out their issues in the end, and yeah, I also appreciated the bluntness, especially since they seem to be on friendly terms now.

Alec McDowell & Dean Winchester, Parallel Appreciation Post.

I’ve always liked the young guys who get to play young Dean, they’ve done an amazing work in my opinion. But I reeeaaally love the fact that Jensen played the character of Alec in Dark Angel when he was younger because Alec and Dean have very similar personalities and that gives us a nice more “vivid” expectation on how would younger Dean really look like.
