Totally random but i was thinking about Digital Circus on the toilet (as one does) and it got me thinking about how Caine's misunderstanding of the group stems from the fact that HE knows they're brain scans but THEY DID NOT KNOW.

Caine doesn't understand that they want a real exit because hes operating under the knowledge that they're brain scans. Brain scans can't leave.

'But they want an exit right? Surely an adventure about leaving the circus will satisfy the brain scans. They can't actually want to leave, because leaving isnt something they can do! They can't want something that they can't do!'

But it doesnt register to him that since they dont know what he knows its different for them. They believed they were real. Its only when he sees that the group are copies of real people with lives that it clicks that

'Oh. Them not knowing they arent real actually effects their experince here because they believe they left their lives behind'

Its just interesting and it makes sense that an AI would operate under its own knowledge and not consider the fact that the humans lacking that knowledge would cause them to act a certain way. He didnt maliciously decide to not tell them, he just never saw that there was a reason to. His job was to keep them happy; letting them know they're brain scans isnt in those parameters of his job.

The difference between Cole and the ancient elves was that the lyrium used to forge their bodies made them “real” faster while also allowing them to keep their magical powers “and then some” they had as spirits

think about it. This guy is from the 17th century and speaks formal as hell, and then he just hits you with this. Caught me off guard so badly i laughed hysterically

Anyway headcanon that belos would--RARELY but still would--pick up mannerisms from random members of the emperor's coven

Like imagine he's just sitting in the throne room, doing whatever he does when he overhears one of the coven members grumbling "my scroll is broken? give me a break man," and he's there thinking, foolish witches with their nonsense terminology, then moves on but he keeps overhearing it. Not like, all the time but enough from passing by other members to figure out what they mean then comes a day he's walking with hunter and hears kikimora calling for him to pester him about something, and Belos unknowingly mutters out loud "Ugh, Give me a break here" And Hunter's neck nearly snaps from how quick he looks at belos because ???? this is the same uncle who likes to use words like "Hitherto" and "Betwixt" then all of a sudden drops that.
