Re: ur tags. I think you like time loop stories and despise time travel because you enjoy the concept of examining one's actions and reinvindicating the present while time travel usually presents itself as an erasure of the past "for a good cause"
Oooh intriguing! I do think that makes sense (the same reason I like I’ll find you in the next life stories but not we’re reincarnated lovers stories. It’s vindicating the present). I think another reason is just that I love anything that puts structural limitations on a story and a time loop is like the temporal version of a bottle episode. What can you do with just this?
