“I mean clearly the most interesting thing is that fact that I no longer have to pretend to like fucking jello. Or that I no longer can charge my phone by simply holding it”, she attempted to joke, holding a bandaged arm close to her body.

Now he was the one that had been high and drunk, he had expected some memory loss on his part but Maxie? He figured she would remember everything and help him put things into perspective but clearly that was not the case. “Well – there was something along the lines of eels – creepy text messages and I think that is all I recall from that entire night.” It was a lie but it was one that he was willing to live with. After all life was about making lies and just remembering them so you didn’t get caught was it not? Especially now that his wife was gone, there was nothing light in his life to remind him that was not something he should be doing. “But you managed to become superwoman and got us out of that shit safe and – well almost sound. Sorry – That I wasn’t on my best behavior.”
Brown eyes leveled hard on him, waiting for the rest of his speech or even an explanation. He must of misunderstood her from the start, she remembered. She remembered the pool, she remembered the text messages, and she remembered him laying by the pool too useless to do anything. She remembered diving into the water, following the stupid instinct to protect someone she thought was her friend, and she remembered the first couple of eels that attacked. Getting down to the tapes were easy, it was getting up that left her fighting against the swarm. No amount of magic helped and it wasn’t like she was exactly in practice after all these years. But getting out of the pool wasn’t something she remembered. “So I just was scooped out of the pool by my imaginary dragon or something?”, she asked, not even managing enough strength to pick her head up from the pillow. Maxie didn’t even bother with his apology, it felt fake and force, like he was only here out of guilt. “How long was I out?”, she asked finally, something didn’t feel right.

So he was a liar – he did remember what had taken place. Not everything but he knew enough to know that Maxie had taken measurements that she shouldn’t had but had. All because he had decided to be a smart ass and get high. Who could fault him though? He was trying to get past his dead wife’s memory and not being with her. It was a tough crap to get through. And his secret – well he had many – but to start off no one needed to know that his wife had not always been his number one choice. There was no need to open those old wounds that he wanted to keep safe and sound. When Maxie opened her eyes he lifted her favorite book with his grin, hoping their friendship was still somewhat safe. “Brought this for you” He hadn’t left her side besides to get something to eat. @maxiepark
The muffled beeps and buzzes of a crowded hallway and bustling hospital room were more than annoying to anyone. Especially someone who was only just starting to register the world again. An all too bright welcomed her back to the reality of the situation. Maxie’s skin felt like it was on fire and it hurt to move her entire left arm, but that didn’t stop her from bringing her hands to her face like it was the only ting that brought her some sort of relief from her overwhelming senses. The all too familiar voice drew her attention away from obnoxious environment to the obviously exhausted look in his eyes. “I don’t think I could even focus on that if I even tried”, she whispered, letting her head fall back to the pillow. “What happened?”

I am willing to give you the tapes of your secrets and that moment you don’t want people to ever find out about — yes I recored you while you were here what can I say? I got bored. Anyways all you have to do is take a little swim in the pool. Make your way to the deep end and pray you can hold your breath long enough to make it to the bottom of the pool. Don’t worry about it you’re not going to be lonely. I have made sure to have some amazing swimmers to be there. Of course they tend to send shocks through your body but that is the way that they demonstrate their love. Don’t hate, appreciate.
Elijah was so gone it was not even funny. The alcohol and weed were all fucking up his senses. But who could blame he? Had he known that there was someone else that was taking full advantage of this spell and target him he wouldn’t had done all this. Looking over at the pool he glanced back at Maxie before crumbling down onto the tile floor with his fists up in the air. “So I think we can kung fo our way out of this one whatcha say? I have a mean left hook if I say so myself. – And I have a high tolerance of pain – hell with all the drugs in me I am practically numb just like – a patient ready to go for a leg remover – or something like that – Whatcha say Robin?” @maxiepark
The thumping in her ears seemed louder and louder as thing came into focus. The smell of chlorine and alcohol mixed in her senses, making her stomach seem to churn more and more. This was what usually happened when drinking was involved with her, her system was hyperactive and only seemed to bring the hang over on that much sooner. Elijah’s voice helped to snap the spinning world into focus, but it sounded like his wasn’t. “You couldn’t scare a kitten if you had a cucumber in your hand”, Maxie groaned, letting her head fall into her hands. “The question is, is the tape that important to get? Is yours going to be bad?”
Though he nursed the booze haphazardly in his hands, Acheron had little to no desire to get so inebriated that whatever this was, was suddenly forgotten; rather, he enjoyed watching everyone desperately attempt to wipe it clean from their memory with another drink, another pill – another quickie in a place they thought was out of sight. Something about it was more than enough to amuse him. “— You’re still a terrible liar and if believes that he probably deserved it.”
Maxie was better than this, but she had gotten caught up in the magic of connecting with one of the only few people in the world that had mattered to her so long ago. Besides, she knew it was only a matter of time before the alcohol burned from her system and she could already feel it wearing off. The voice from behind her drew her attention, only seeming to make her giggles more pronounced. “Hey, I don’t come to your shenanigans and call shenanigans! In fact, i’m calling shenanigan for not having my back!”

“Until you have been bitten cause you were mistaken for a vanilla cupcake you will not understand my pain.”
“Wait, you’re serious? Someone tried to eat you? Shit, whatever they’re on must either be really good or really bad.”
The alcohol in her veins was doing the job it was supposed to. Was she bent over in a bush puking yet? Not really, but she felt her inhibitions failing and the stupid decisions were growing steadily. “Look, I have no idea who did that to you. I swear it”, she denied, attempting to hide the obvious giggle fit building at the results of her own handiwork.

So Elijah was a bit stone and drunk – who wasn’t? This was what being a teenager was about was it not? Besides to be fair that was what bonfires were about. Not remembering how lame they truly were. None of this would be fun if he was in a sober mind, that much he knew was true. “So do you think those clouds are Cup sizes C or D?”
There were a lot of things that Maxie seemed to rediscover with the young age, one of them was the friendship that had fallen away with Elijah. So if that meant drinking a little bit and taking a hit off the odd joint, who was she to say no. “Seriously?”, she asked with a laugh, tipping her head to the side to look over at the boy. “They’re totally Double-D’s, you really need to work on recognizing the size of a woman’s breast.”

“I can’t help you locate Santa Claus – and no I don’t have any snacks – I believe that if you go a couple of steps further the pot heads have snacks.”
“Well you are clearly having such a rocking fun good time that its impossibly infectious, I think you need to take it down a couple notches.”

“As much fun as that sounds like – I do not believe you have enough liquor that can last.” She plainly stated out before taking a seat in front of the witch. It was embarrassing how well she knew her brothers classmates. Then again to be involved as many student clubs as she had been that was just something that came with the territory. Crossing her ankles while she extended her legs in front of her she looked around at the crowds of people, “Going to the bonfire?”
“I think you underestimate me, but maybe it would be for the best. Not sure this group is the best to let guards down.” Maxie’s eyes watched as she took the seat across from her. A hand full of times brought their interactions together had always been pleasant from what she remembered. Ah, the bonfire. She had seen it around and heard talk of the plans for that night. Old Maxie felt like it was some pointless event, but this Maxie was curious. “I don’t know, maybe. What more could they possibly do to us at this point?”
He shrugs, “Lets just say, I am not completely freaking out about this? It’s not the worse thing to happen. And so many weird things have happened here, have they not? So, it’s not anything to worry about. Unless we’re aging backwards, and then the next step is death. And if that’s the case, then, we should live to the fullest right?” he gives her a look, “Maybe” he says now, leaning over the counter and grabbing a bottle. He opened it, before leaning in his seat, “I think the only way to fix it, is to just have more, don’t you think?” he offers her a smirk, before taking a long gulp, “So, what did you do after Uni, continue your story telling?” he had paid her back then, to do his papers. Though she didn’t do them, and instead filled his papers with stories of nothing. It was better than getting a o for nothing.
“You know, I think I like the way your head is working tonight. I mean tomorrow we can wake up and just magically be our normal ages, or maybe it’s one of those you emerge from the pool normal again. But until then, worrying is only going to ruin whatever time we could possibly have left”, she babbled out her own beliefs, watching him drink from the bottle like it was the cure. Hell, it might as well be the best cure to every sickness or curse in this moment. Poison for the body, but a gift for the soul and mind. Taking the bottle from his grasp and mimicking his actions with a long pull of the burning liquid. Though she couldn’t help but choke back a laugh at his question. She had all but forgotten about the time she got creative on an assignment at his literal expense. Definitely one of her finer ideas. “Oh you know, just put out a book of my short stories about Bob The Builder. It’s a huge seller, New York list and everything”, she joked, setting the bottle between them once more. “Just most of what everyone here did. Settle down, grow up, become utterly boring”, for the most part, it was a some-what accurate depiction of what she had done with only some truth missing. “What about you?”

“No I think I have you beat there.” He was honest when he said those words. Last person he had expected to see here was Maxie. Elijah was clearly famous for hanging out with people that disliked this school and hated being what they were. It was probably the self hate that attracted him to them. Or at least it had been. Elijah had managed to change throughout the years – the years of marriage and fatherhood made him into twice the man that he had been in university. “I am sure that you do but there are other people – it’s not our class only and besides being young is something everyone has wished once or twice – so how bad can this me? – My brother actually. He wanted to come and finish something – but then this shit storm spell happened. You?”
Maxie could remember the days she spent in these halls more than she wished. She remembered the agony that she felt in her soul with each passing day, the feeling of utter chaos being at her fingertips without control, and the inner turmoil that drove most of her decisions. Back in these halls she was out of control, she was dangerous, and there was not a damn person who could help her. They claimed to teach her how to control that, to make her a better person. But it was all an act and an attempt at control. The day she walked out was the day she found her hope. But the same reason she found her hope is the reason she was here, it was gone. “I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that”, she murmured, smoothing back her hair like it was a swift reminder to where she was now. “I guess you’re right – I guess I don’t really have much of a reason for coming back, beside that I’m looking for something.”

In university, Wisteria had spent most of her time around the boys, so she wasn’t sure if she knew who she was speaking to. She had never gotten along well with other females because most– not all– came with drama or were too catty for their own good. “I think you’re probably right, but that was me attempting to give them the benefit of the doubt. You know, trying to be nice and all that– probably why I shouldn’t try.” She laughed lightly. Wish wasn’t trying to say that she was an awful person, but nice wasn’t an adjective she could be associated with on most occasions. Smart ass, was more like it. “Spiced rum. If I’m going to take straight shots of anything, it’ll be that. I’d say tequila, but I’m not looking for trouble.” She was joking. Mostly.
Something was telling Maxie that maybe, just maybe she was going to get along with this girl across from her. The air of the sarcasm hung between them and for one of the first time, it was like she had finally found someone that she could enjoy this interesting time with. “Well, be happy it was me you had that slip with. I’m much more forgiving, judgmental as shit, but more forgiving”, she smirked, drumming her fingers on the bar top. Despite the other girl’s request and warning, Maxie leaned across the table and brought the bottle of silver tequila to rest between them. “Where’s the fun in not looking for trouble? I think that’s the whole point of being made this age again.”
While she wouldn’t be voicing her complaints anytime soon, Isis wasn’t entirely thrilled to be stuck in her twenty-two year old body. It had taken her years to find the strengths to break free from everyone else’s expectations of her and now she was being forced to return to the life she had once had. A life filled with the reminder of a failure to protect someone that had resulted in an awful tragedy. She was a good guardian, much like her mother, but she was not perfect. “I’m already about five shots ahead of you on that one, I think, but you’re free to join me. Hope you like Iceberg vodka,” Isis replied, ordering two more shots and sliding one in the other’s direction.
Out of instinct, Maxie’s nose scrunched up at the drink of choice. Iceberg Vodka was not exactly a brand or taste she was familiar with, but vodka was the drink that brought her back to her early twenties. Just because she was now back in her twenties, didn’t mean her taste was going to fall back to it. But despite the knowledge that she was going to regret this drink didn’t stop her from taking the shot. Once the bitter taste of the vodka had finally vanished from her tastebuds, Maxie simply pushed the bottle of vodka away from the other’s grasp. “I’ve been drinking all weekend, so the shot count is just a moot point, but this drink needs to go. Vodka is only acceptable with some orange juice, other than that it’s time to upgrade this mess to something more tasty.”
He had found himself back into the great hall. So many noises, so many concerns. None he had wanted to join in on. Things could of been worse. They could of been turned back to the size of fetus’s if anything, they where back to their younger years, which weren’t completely bad. Turning he looked the other over, before moving towards where she was. “You are so on” he says now, leaning against the table. He grabs on, holding it in his fingers, “You’re probably the only other one here, that’s not freaking out” he comments, looking around the room, before looking back at her, “Besides my head hurting like a bitch, it’s not a huge deal”
Her sarcasm filled offer at a drinking game had been met with many different kinds of responses. Many seemed angry at her offer, many seemed depressed at the situation at hand, and manny were judging for her lack of true concern for whatever was going on. So it was refreshing to have someone who seemed to share that same desire to just not care. “I don’t see the point in freaking out. It’s not like this trick put our lives in danger or has risked our health”, but maybe that was just because there was no real ties for her to the world this trick plucked her from. “Something tells me your head hurting has nothing to do with the returning to the glory days as much as it might a bottle of something strong?”
wisteriablackwood:
Waking up to learn that the previous night had not been an alcohol-induced dream had Wisteria making her way to the bar first thing. She’d booked a flight to Los Angeles for later in the day, but it would have to be cancelled because she couldn’t return to her life looking like she did now. Her editor was expecting four new chapters by Monday, but Wish could always submit them through e-mail. This was the age of technology for a reason, after all. “If we do that, we’ll be drunk by noon,” she replied, finishing off the last of her beer as she lifted her gaze from the bar top. “I’m in, though. This body did always have a higher tolerance.”
A snicker could be heard echoing from Maxie, her attention being drawn to the other girl near. Memories seemed to faded now, it was difficult to place just how she knew her or if she really even did. All Maxie knew was that she didn’t immediately feel the urge to leave from her presence. “I think you give our fellow classmates here much more credit then they deserve. I’d say by ten, easy”, she chuckled, setting her own drink down on the bar. “You can say that again. So what’s your poison?”
Coming to this reunion was definitely one of the worst decisions Gavin had ever made. This ‘prank’ had gone on for far too long, he didn’t have time to hang around his old school with former classmates, he had a life, a job and a daughter and he couldn’t exactly go back to any of it looking like this. When Maxie spoke next to him he turned his head slightly to look at her then down to the drink in front of her. “I’m not in the mood for games, find someone else to play with you.”
Maxie was surprised from the voice that came from out of her eyesight, tilting her head up to the tall lanky soul in front of her. She could see the utter annoyance on his features, probably sourced from this entire ordeal they all seemed to be stuck under. But that didn’t mean she appreciated it. “You may call it a game, I call it a break while people continue to freak out or grow quick to anger. Because lets face it, what has ever been solved or completed when angry or with high anxiety. Only thing that comes to mind is the cause of more chaos. But sure, I’ll find someone else to play with.”
