*new* beyblade subs masterpost

hello again everyone! i’ve decided to make a whole new masterpost for my beyblade subs, all the links in the old one died like a century ago and i’ve wanted to do things a bit differently anyway and. stuff. i’m slowly working on editing and uploading new versions that will replace the old files, but the old files will be available here for all the episodes i haven’t edited yet. (also i’m aware that there are other subs in existence by now too but i just like being thorough. plus i was asked to do this)

***what’s different in the new versions*** - well first of all they’re all available for hardsubbed streaming so you don’t need to download anything to watch - improved translation, a fixed arial round font, overall better readability, no colour coding (it was difficult to maintain what colours i actually wanted to use lol), no changing font sizes etc - uniform spellings for all the names and terms (i try to go with what’s more or less official. even though that’s kinda elusive in this franchise but. anyway) - karaoke effects for opening & ending themes. in the old files, all of the above is just chaos with no coherence. that’s why i’ll be replacing them. it’s going to take a while but i’m on it

the episodes are grouped in batches of tens below. google drive allows downloading an entire folder so you get the whole batch in one (depending on the folder view, the DL link changes places a bit but it’s at the top of the screen). or you can also just pick individual episodes.

Oh God I don't know how to feel about it but at the same time I hope it is based on the OG series, the casting is as diverse as the actual anime, they go darker (instead of filtering out the serious stuff and making it an innocent pre teen movie) and don't age the characters anywhere below 16.

A beyblade live action movie got announced and is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer who did Pirates of the Caribbean and this instantly lived rent free in my brain till I had to draw it out! I’m honestly not sure how I feel about a live action beyblade movie I kinda hope it follows new characters and beys and not the og crew but I guess we will find out in the future!

Max loves to flirt and I think that's quite canon at this stage. Case in point:

(1) Calling Hilary cute (and Kenny interjecting that Max calls every girl cute).

(2) Literally the whole flirtatious back and forth banter with Mariam in V-Force.

(3) There is something there with Kai that I cannot quite seem to put my finger on (the shared smile at the end of the battle in G Revolution, Max thinking of Dranzer in the cave....)

(4) Literally slapping Rick's ass.

1. Kai x Salima

Now this is a bit of an unconventional ship, but let’s see.The thing is, that if they’d ever date, Salima being the goody-two shoes that she is (and she loves teaching and helping people), her attraction to Kai would be a little in terms of her wanting to FIX Kai and perhaps mellow his heart a little, whereas Kai might like the purity of her heart but be dead opposed to how she approaches stuff. If they do work, I think they’d be pretty cute together with this opposites attract dynamic, but I don’t ship it per se. Mostly because they don’t go together as such in my head.

2. Takao x Hiromi

Who’re we kidding? These two should get married. The feelings are very obvious, very mutual, and frankly, they complement each other gorgeously.

3. Rei x Mao

Ah, the canon ship. Now here’s the thing. This is a ship that I haven’t personally been able to get on board with since I was 12. Mostly because I don’t see that chemistry. I love Mao. She, along with Mariam, is my third most favourite character on Beyblade. I love that woman to hell. And I love Rei too. But whatever they had, in the anime, seemed awfully one sided. And I got an odd sibling vibe from them. Personally, I think Rei and Salima had great chemistry and Mao would be better off with someone else (maybe like Rick?). So while I’m okay with this ship, I don’t ship it.

4. Kenny x Emily

Because why not? I did root for those two in the last season! Max and Emily would never have worked out, if at all. Kenny would be the most adorable boyfriend ever, and I can totally imagine those two geeking out together and writing complex codes to tell each other they love each other. Kind of a nerdy thing.

5. Michael x Emily

I don’t ship them because I get a feeling that their relationship might be a tad toxic. I could be wrong, but I just get a feeling that it won’t work out.

6. Bryan x Mariam

Now, I don’t really ship Mariam with anyone but Maxie, but this one I could get on board with. I have a feeling that this ship would be more physical than emotional though. Oh, but these two are raw, direct and stone cold honest with each other, I think. Oh and no thanks to @zadien for getting me on board this ship xD xD

7. Oliver x Robert

Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. I don’t think I can. I just don’t see them going together. Now, Oliver and Giancarlo I would ship to the depths of hell and back but can’t pair Robert with Oliver. I think someone with a personality like Mariam’s or Tala’s would be a better fit. Or maybe that’s just me.

I just have a correction; if you are telling that Rei and Mariah were more one-sided, i would tell the same for Rei and Salima as well. Despite Ray and Mariah were a lot more cliched, Salima did refuse Ray’s help for so many times even when he wanted to help her out during the battle tower arc. She preferred to risk her own life to save Kane even when Ray wanted to keep her safe. She refused to go along with the bladebreakers when Ray offered too. Isn’t it also one-sided even when the girl doesn’t want to accept the boy’s gestures but not only the other way around? Yes, it definitely is in my opinion. In defense of Kane in regards of one-sidedness, he certainly lost his mental cool and stability to show affection.

Tbh i find Rei and Salima a lot more one-sided for the mentioned reasons. Ray was shown to be distracted of Mariah and the entire 16th episode totally focused on their relationship. It definitely wasn’t one-sided. Mariah just understands Ray’s subtle nature in love languages in G-Revolution. There was no romance for them in S3 to consider them one-sided lol. In S1, there were moments showing Ray’s P.O.V. on their relationship.

No offense a bit because Ray/Mao is probably not in my top 5 in beyblade original ships because of the cliche. I just prefer them far more over Ray/Salima and i support them.

I guess this is just natural to fans to consider anything one-sided when the boy is passive than the girl but not vice versa so its not to be blamed (i find this pretty common in every fandom) ahahahahaaa.

I loved your opinions on other ships. I just don’t get Michael/Emily as a ship. They had a great bond but i would just see them as friends. Something in me says that they would not make a good couple.

Oh, totally valid opinion. But I would just like to clarify one point. I didn't find Rei and Salima one sided, it has nothing to do with gender at all lol. I just thought they both showed good chemistry from both their ends in that fleeting moment they had on the bridge, and always felt like there was this wrong place wrong time tension between them (not that I ship them either). But I always got the feeling that Rei tends to infantilize Mao, and Mao deserves better than that. That's why I kind of don't ship the canon ship. (I love that part in the new Rising manga where Mao basically sasses on Rei about how winning in beyblading is way more important to her). Mao would work so much better with someone firebrand like Julia in my opinion and someone who treats her more as an equal than someone to be taken care of.

But shipping is a personal thing haha. To each their own. There's no right or wrong opinions :)
