Final piece for Mayblade is Brooklyn, to complete the Justice Five set. Unlike the others, he's not pictured with his element; I always draw him in dark and edgy ways, so I wanted to give him a break and draw something peaceful this time. This side of him deserves attention too.

Okay, whilst Ballet is not officially recognised as a sport by the Olympics, it does require a lot of the same physical fitness. And well, I just wanted an excuse to draw an inside joke between me and @allacrossthenation.

Drawing practice with Brooklyn

I was expecting a better result~ But honestly, I had fun drawing him, it felt like the old days hehe 🥺💕

Have you guys seen this???

This shows Takao Aoki's concept art for Bega's Justice Five! Since they weren't in the manga, I assumed he didn't have designs for them! It's really cool to see how different they looked before they finalized the designs for the anime! That's crazy that Brooklyn's hair was green! If you look through all of his early character designs on the website, a lot of their colors were different in the concept art.

He mentions that Mystel's design is meant to be Indonesian! I know some other fans and I were trying to determine what country he seemed to be from, and I don't remember if anyone guessed that!

He mentions Brooklyn being designed to be "the other Kai Hiwatari" which feels pretty accurate. None of these character designs were given names yet at that point, which brings me to the fact that the character we see here, who will turn into Ming-Ming is also the design that turns into Tsuki in the Rising manga, so it's like they're related! xD

Moses and Garland look pretty similar to their final selves, at least enough that I recognized them. Aoki also goes into the themes for the bit beasts and such. If you copy and paste the page's text into google translate, you can get all the fun details. Don't forget to try out the pages for the other seasons. You get to see his fun little thoughts that went into making the characters!

All I’m saying is that if Officer Bega and Seiko got together we could have Zuma becoming a protective big brother for Momo and Vamola.

Imagine the comedy of Bega seeing Momo and Okaruns bidding romance and immediately declaring a no closed door policy in the house now. Or Bega turning to Zuma and telling him to make sure Momo and Okarun keep it appropriate while they are out.

Zuma teasing Okarun about being good to his ‘little sister’, while Momo groans and complains that they aren’t even siblings officially yet. All while Vamola goes with it immediately, calling Zuma big bro without issue and unknowing teasing Momo about the whole situation.
