𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: Your character’s car
Walking home had sort of turned into a habit for Joey ever since he had started high school – unlike many of his friends, he couldn’t drive. He had tried many of times with his dads, but they would usually end up in disaster, whether because Joey got distracted with a family of ducks crossing the road, or because he just got confused when his dads asked him to turn left or right – turns out that lifting both of his hands to try to figure out which was left or right wasn’t a good idea when you were driving. Either way, Joey didn’t mind walking home – he would just put on his headphones and start walking, and at this point it was almost automatic. He normally wouldn’t get lost, so that hadn’t been a problem for his dads. As he was making his way home after rehearsal, Joey was so blasting Dua Lipa on his headphones and singing along to himself that he didn’t even notice someone following him in a car. As he took off his headphones, he heard a voice coming from the car and telling him to get in – not sure who it was, Joey decided to do what he thought was the right thing – and he got in the car, only to be surprised with the person that was on the wheel. “Oh, it’s you! I thought it was my Uber… But now that I think about it, I really didn’t ask for an Uber.” He said, as he wondered a bit about it. “Or one of those cars that drive themselves, those are really cool and they’re made of magic, which is kind of awesome.” He said with a small chuckle, as he looked at the other person. “I shouldn’t have gotten in the car without checking first… I mean, at least I know you and I’m not being taken to Indianapolis. My dads thought I was staying over at my uncle’s house but I was really trying to find a way back to here.” He said with a nod.
Max smiled as Joey climbed into his truck, always happy to give the guy a ride. Fortunately for the both of them, Max had been heading home from bible study and had rolled past Joey on the way. “Riding with me is more fun than an Uber, right?” He offered with a smile before pulling off and heading in the direction of Joey’s house. He had been over there a few times to watch a movie with his friend, so he figured he knew where he was going. If not, hopefully Joey would chime in and lead Max in the correct direction of his home. “I wish I had a car that could drive itself. I would definitely nap on the way to school.” He let out a soft chuckle at the idea, even though he usually rode with Kaden to school and he did usually sleep on the way. “Why would I take you to Indianapolis?” He questioned, shaking his head in confusion. He kept his eyes on the road as he leaned back in his seat a little. “I was just heading home from bible study. Glad I spotted you,” he explained with a nod of his head. Joey was always going to be one of his favorite people to talk to. He was just so darn funny. He passed his phone over to Joey and shrugged, “you can change the music if you want. I know Christian rock isn’t everyone’s thing.”
