Within Stratos, the stars danced around one another. In his mouth, his teeth shimmered with the light of the astros.
Yet among them, two remained apart. Drawn to each other, they longed to be together.
When night fell and his eyes grew heavy, Stratos opened his mouth and yawned. The two lovers saw their chance. They leapt from him, colliding into each other, each trying to shield the other from the fall.
They gaze into each other's eyes, and declare their love for one another.
Stratos looked upon himself. He opened his mouth, and saw what was missing. Shame settled within him and his gaze turned to the lovers. And in his shame, he was overcome with anger.
He reached for them and tore them apart. Once again, creating distance between the two.
He gazed upon creation, holding one in each hand, and declared:
“You—who burn bright and endless, who shall be called Solsticio—shall be the protector of light,
the guardian of the living.
You will watch over them,
and you will bring them warmth.”
“And you—who reflect, who cry and whisper,
who shall be called Lunaris—shall be the protector of the dark,
You will guide them through the night.”
“And this shall be your curse—that your duties will never allow you to meet again.”
He declared. Despite their anguish, they did not oppose him, for he was the King of the Stars, and the highest among those honored by Heelal.
Désirée, the last to be born, the embodiment of Love itself, witnessed the lovers’ curse.
She thought. And she came before Stratos, speaking softly, asking for a chance.
Stratos, unaware he was being deceived, turned his full attention to the goddess. And in that moment, the lovers were reunited once more.
And from that day on, whenever Désirée's heart aches for them, she calls Stratos’ gaze away,
for the Sun and the Moon to find each other again.
