i think one of my favorite things about hopepunk is that it shows hope as what it truly is. hope is not mindless optimism. hope is not always soft. hope is aggressive. hope is defiance. hope is an act of resistance. hope is fighting back. hope is staying alive out of spite. hope is spitting in the systems eye. hope is going "fuck it, there ARE good things in this world". hope is choosing to be kind & loving despite everything. hope is community. hope is seeing the world is broken & making the small pieces of it that you exist in better. hope is not just wanting for something to happen, it's making it happen in any way you can. hope cannot be destroyed, no matter the cruelness of the world. hope is always there, aggressive & kind.

Part two of Bloodymary Romance Anime AU LOL

@buboloboogie was a doll and gave me a bunch of prompts/anime tropes to work with. So we had to do the classic “nosebleed when flustered” and “school festival events”.

Class PHM’s (yes I know classes are usually letters and a number but whatever lol) Class President Eva Stratt came up with a “animal maid cafe”. She and Carl had to chase poor Ryland all over the school grounds before they caught him and dragged him back to work the cafe with Rocky and Ilyukhina. At least he gets to be a fox tho!

Adrian thought they were being a good friend telling Simon where to find Ryland-senpai, little did she know she walked Simon right into Eva’s trap (Class COI was then down a member for the whole day)

Class COI President Ava and Class PHM President Eva kind of have a competitive streak when it comes to the class events (everyone’s wondering when they’ll finally confess their feelings…there’s a betting pool Rocky started with Jack and everything)

Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson do not get along. They’ve been sniping at each other since saving the world from Vecna and everyone is tired of it They would fight at the bar. They fight in Family Video. They fight over music, over movies, over whether Eddie’s van is “a death trap”.

But what nobody knows is Steve started it. And Steve keeps starting it. Because the first time Eddie got really mad like red faced, voice cracking, gesturing with those rings and hair all wild from running his hands through it Steve’s brain just short circuited. God, he’s so hot when he’s pissed. He would think to him self.

So now Steve has a system. He says something dumb about his music choice and Eddie explodes. Steve wins. Not the argument. But just to see him.

Eddie doesn’t get it at first. He just thinks Steve’s an asshole who peaked in high school and never learned to shut up. Until one night Steve’s baiting him about “real music” and Eddie shoves him hard against the brick wall outside the Hideout, and Steve smiles.

Oh.

“You absolute freak,” Eddie says realization dawning and devastating. “You like this. You like when I—”

Steve cuts him off by kissing him, because since he’s been caught he might as well give in.

idk why, but i feel like simon on erid would be very interesting in playing around with different hair styles. it’s definitely very difficult at first with the whole one arm thing, but i think eventually it’d end up helping him get used to working with one arm, and just generally be really soothing for him. i have a feeling hygiene wasn’t very high on the priority list in jail and definitely not in the sub, so the concept that simon has enough resources and time to just sit down and play with his hair is probably very reassuring or something idk.

also simon becoming transfem grace’s stylist when she starts to grow her hair out. everyone thank ilyukhina for bringing her hair products on the hail mary

Simon wanting to do more with his hair cause he likes to keep it longer, but it gets so frizzy and out of control cause he was just never taught how to take care of it.

Grace (who has never really liked longer hair, but has learned thru trial and error how to do his hair alone in space) sits with him, all of Ilyukhina’s hair care between them. They read thru the instructions, test them out as best they can, and learn slowly what feels good for Simon.

After a while, Simon gets frustrated not being able to do his hair well by himself. They’ve got cut off sleeves to use for headbands, and that works okay, but it’s real annoying when his neck is sweaty and he has so way to tie it. He tries hard to use the elastic scrunchies, but it’s impossible to loop it around with just his fingers.

It takes MONTHS of Simon reaching back behind his head to hold his hair off his neck, the overstimulation making him cranky and irritable. He keeps refusing Grace’s offer to put it up for him over and over again because it’s just too vulnerable—letting someone stand behind him and put their hands on his neck. He’s had to deal with people grabbing him by his hair before in an attack, he really wouldn’t let anyone touch it.

The only compromise they can come up with is Grace awkwardly doing it while sitting in front of Simon, trying not to stare directly into his eyes or get too close to his face as he ties the hair tie by feeling alone. Simon still flinches as he does it.

Takes a LONGGGG time for Simon to actually feel comfortable being that vulnerable to Grace to do his hair normally, but it is SO worth it when he does. So much better now.

The decision my brain decided on in the middle of my shower was Throat Mouth.

This Grace is mute as the mutation has affected his vocal cords. He either uses a translator or uses the throat teeth to talk in a sort of Morse Code.
