I want night. Vast night. Roses into the black sky; ashen evening tears.
Grégoire Le Roy, from “Legendary and Melancholic Themes,” wr. c. 1922 (via violentwavesofemotion)
all sentences taken from richard siken’s war of the foxes. certain liberties have been applied in converting these poems for rp purposes. [ part 1 / part 2 ]
poems: the way the light reflects — war of the foxes.
“ what’s there to be faithful to? ” “ i am faithful to you, darling. ” “ believe it if you can. ” “ some people don’t understand anything. ” “ how can you argue with them? ” “ they are probably right anyway. ” “ there is a question i am afraid to ask. ” “ it should be enough. to make something beautiful should be enough. ” “ let’s kill something. ” “ what do you do with a man like that? ” “ i turned away from darkness to see daylight, to see what would happen. ” “ what happened? ” “ what does a man want? power. ” “ will you defend yourself? from me, i mean. ” “ i prefer to blame others, it’s easier. king me. ” “ it helps to have an anchor. ” “ it’s a matter of willpower. ” “ all these ghosts come streaming down and sometimes i wish i had something else. a redemptive imagination, for example. ” “ what is a ghost? something dead that seems to be alive. something dead that doesn’t know it’s dead. ” “ cut off your head, kid. ” “ ask for a blessing? you can try, but we will not remain unscathed. ” “ abandon your will and let the world have its way with you. ” “ i wanted to explain myself in an understandable way. ” “ something’s not right about what i’m doing but i’m still doing it—living in the worst parts, ruining myself. ” “ my inner life is a sheet of black glass. ” “ the enormity of my desire disgusts me. ” “ never finish a war without starting another. ” “ i’ve seen your true face: the back of your head. ” “ if you were walking away, keep walking. ” “ everyone needs a place. ” “ why do anything at all? ” “ sometimes, at night, in bed, before i fall asleep, i think about a poem i might write. ” “ you will die in your sleep and leave everything unfinished. ” “ hope negates the experience. ” “ i owe myself nothing. ” “ i like dead things. they cannot hurt me. ” “ there’s not enough room for us to be ourselves. ” “ i will help you. ” “ history is painted by the winners. ” “ love might be the wrong word. ” “ let’s admit, without apology, what we do to each other. ” “ we know who our enemies are. we know. ” “ we’re doomed. ” “ this is the same story. ” “ let me tell you a story about war. ” “ let me tell you a story about love. ” “ this is the wrong story. ” “ all stories are the wrong story when you are impatient. ” “ can i tell you something? ” “ now we are getting somewhere. ” “ this is not what we meant to be. ” “ let me tell you a story about love. ” “ all wars are the same war. ” “ that’s just bad planning. ” “ in the wrong light anyone can look like a darkness. ”

HE HATES ! , he hates how much she knew about his little weakness , he knows she is quite aware otherwise she wouldn’t be whispering words close to his ear . so sensitive with audition . The dark haired man pulls back a little , just enough to face her but at the same time he was almost brushing his forehead against hers . ‘ every men know , they just DON’T LIKE ACCEPTING IT ‘
SHE CRAVES THAT UNEASE ! That frustration which grows as the space between bodies diminishes . He retreats yet she PURSUES . Diminutive hands dainty and light across his skin . Feather-light upon his chin . ❛ So stubborn . You’re not feeling cornered now are you , my sweet ? ❜ Cloying breath careening off his lips , close enough to kiss yet she remains just out of reach . ❛ You can be weak with me I’ll allow it . ❜
starter call ! poetry/lyric based mostly
TITANIA EDITS: FACIAL DETAILS
❧ * MAGNUS BANE . / @magnvs ( sc )
FLUSHED AND A’ GLOW ! As if spring had come twice . An ingenue ‘pon a throne of lilies . All blood spilt washed away with cherry wine and faerie favors . One Queen becomes one with EARTH while the next rises to claim the fallen crown . Songs of triumph and treachery sung in her honor . Yet she knew better than to give into the celebratory atmosphere for she so readily had placed a target on her back . A squabble for power that she would not yield to but for the evening she would choose to forget .
To her chambers she retires fleeing to the balcony’s edge . Nixies begging to attend on her DEVOTEDLY yet she does away with them all . The comforting chill of night embraces her as she settles on the balcony’s edge . Something sweet is picked up by the passing breeze . Rich and distinct , something which grips the heart so ! ❛ You smell so deeply of magic , it always did used to sooth my soul . ❜ Now it did so much the opposite . Delicate as she appeared , the seelie was no fragile forest nymph Yet , she felt very much akin to one given the reappearance of the warlock after a great deal of decades , all that time stood before them now . Given their ageless plight something so mundane should be meaningless to creatures such as themselves . O’ but even she was not above longing !
❛ You’re late Arriving after the party ends isn’t like you , Magnus . ❜ Or perhaps it was , were they not strangers now ? If so , why could she not bring herself to look away from the constellations above to the silhouette now poised in her doorway .
JUST A REMINDER: that titania is actually an ‘eccentric’ fashion designer in her modern setting.

IN HER ARMS HE IS HER CAPTIVE ! Draped over his shoulders with languid ease . Sweet are the notes of her tone dripping like honey . ❛ Madness and witchery are conditions commonly associated with the FEMALE voice . ❜ In a hush the words leave her , a whisper into his awaiting ear .
❧ * WENDY DARLING . / @darlingflight ( sc )
ALL AFIXED IN HER DIVINE GLOW ! Rosebud lips part into a cool smile . Without its warmth it held the weight of cruelty yet perfectly masked it remained . ❛ To SURVIVE you need an edge . ❜ Tenderly a hand comes to settle upon the lost girl’s shoulder as she flitters about . ❛ Do not fight against what makes you strong , my dear Wendy . ❜
what if... i were to properly flesh out a tmi/shadow.hunters verse for titania i mean obviously they already have a seelie queen in canon but we all know the Truth
TITANIA AND LIES: Quite simply faeries are incapable of lying. I wouldn’t classify it as a weakness per se but it does put less cunning Fae at a disadvantage. Titania in particular is someone who is skilled in the art of half-truths or flat out deflection. Just because faeries can tell no lies does not mean that there is a compulsion over them to speak the truth. Actually, Titania is a woman who is difficult to pin down especially where the truth is concerned. She is very superficial with her honesty distracting from her true feelings with her complimentary nature. She may over-indulge others with flattery and while what she is saying may ring true in a technical sense it is in fact a way to lure others into a false sense of ease with her.
As for how she feels about being lied to… she adores it. Watching other people lie amuses her mainly because she is incapable of doing so herself. Oddly enough though she cannot speak lies she is very apt at discerning lie from truth. This is due to an eternity of observing how lies are constructed and how the body betrays itself when constructing falsehoods. Of course, she does not catch every deception aimed at her and if anything she does enjoy surrounding herself with skilled liars if only to watch them at work. To put it simply lying is like an enchantment to Titania. A carefully weaved spell, which power varies depending on its caster.
