In The Back Of My Mind, Thereâs You (Alessia Russo x McCabe!Reader)
From The Pretender universe
Based on this request MDNI 18+ SMUT (McCabe reader x OC). Itâs pretty obvious where in the main timeline this picks up from.
âYe called Sarina to beg her to give me a job?â You huffed at your girlfriend, while Leah stood in the middle of the two of you, holding you back by the chest.
âSorry for being the only one of the two of us who is being proactive about what you are going to do!â Alessia snapped. âI was trying to help you. I got you a really good opportunity, and youâre throwing it away because of your pathetic stubbornnessâ
âI donât need ye to find me opportunities. I can do it on my ownâ you moaned.
âMac come on, she was just trying to helpâ Leah sighed.
âYe are always takinâ her fuckinâ side with everythingâ you muffled, throwing her hands off of you. âJust because ye became close when I was in Spain doesnât mean ye can gang up on me in my own houseâ
âBaby, can you just breathe, okay? Iâm sorry I oversteppedâ Alessia intervened, placing one hand on your chest and cupping your face with the other hand and softening her tone, trying to steady your breaths.
âGet off me, Alessiaâ you mumbled under your breath.
âPlease, I-â
âI said get off meâ you repeated a bit louder, not making the same movements you had to Leah when you physically removed her from you, but stepping back to get Alessiaâs hands off you. âI need to goâ you shook your head, heading out the living room door, and taking your car keys off the hook.
âBaby, please, please. Youâre not meant to be driving. Please, Iâll go. You stay hereâ Alessia pleaded, trying to pry the keys out of your hand, but it was no use.
âThink about what youâre doing hereâ Leah began, watching you put your shoes on. âYouâre going to throw away a perfectly healthy relationship and friendship over something that was done in your best interestâ
âAll Iâve asked ye both for was to give me time to figure it outâ you grunted. âAnd ye both just couldnât help yourselves. Ye make everythinâ about yourselves and Iâm fuckinâ sick of it. So, Iâm done. With both of ye. Keep this fuckinâ stupid house and the stupid fuckinâ dog. Iâm doneâ you huffed, pushing by the two of them and slamming the front door closed as you left.
âY/nâ Alessia cried out, but Leah caught her by the hand to pull her backwards.
âLet her go, Lessâ Leah whispered, hugging the England striker so tightly she felt like her ribs were going to break.
âMac?â A voice interrupted you storming towards the car. âI heard shouting? ÂżEstĂĄ todo bien?â Maria asked.
Maria had been your neighbour for a few months now. She was originally from Madrid, but had moved to London for her job. She liked you, Alessia and Leah. You all helped her with things around her house, and you all often invited her over for dinner or games night.
Sheâd made a drunken pass at you one night, when you were alone in the house with her, fixing one of her ceiling lights. But you politely rejected her, explaining Alessia was actually your girlfriend, and you were not just three friends living together.
âBienâ you nodded back, getting into the car without so much as another word and driving off. Maria understood that all couples fought, but sheâd never heard you and Alessia go at each other, in a non sexual way, before.
She debated going to check if Alessia was okay, but due to Leahâs car still being in the driveway, she knew the blonde would rather her best friend than the random neighbourâs company right now. So, she headed back inside and tried to forget it.
-
You and Alessia spoke once after that night, deciding it was best to just go your separate ways. You needed space to come to terms with the massive adjustment in your life of your career ending, and Alessia didnât know how to help and support you through that.
Even though it was promised out of anger, Leah and Alessia stayed living in the house, with Alban. You moved into a one bedroom studio apartment on the opposite side of London temporarily, trying to get as far away as possible until you figured out what to do.
Alexia knew of the break up, and was the only one that seemed willing to support you through it. She was very clear that she agreed that Alessia had overstepped, and youâd done the right thing for you. She wanted you to not feel bad for breaking up with her, because you had enough to worry about.
âMove backâ Alexia pleaded. âYour apartment is still here. You love it here. Barcelona misses youâ she smiled through the FaceTime. So, you decided you were going to move back to Barcelona in the New Year, which was just a few weeks away.
-
Youâd slept with someone fairly quickly after you and Alessia split. You needed a quick rebound to give you some confidence back, and with how easy it was to pull that girl in a bar, you knew you wouldnât have any issues in Barcelona.
Only, you sleeping around didnât exactly wait until you got there.
-
You knew Alessia and Leah were training this morning, so you texted them both to let them know you were just stopping at the house to grab your stuff, and youâd leave the key. Youâd been putting it off for quite awhile, but with the move coming next week, you needed all of your stuff to start packing.
âMac? Hiâ Maria smiled from her garden gate as she was watching you load things into your car.
âHola, ÂżCĂłmo estĂĄs?â You asked, politely.
âGoodâ Maria nodded. âHow are you? I havenât seen you in quite some timeâ She hummed.
âWe broke upâ you clarified, as she shot you an apologetic look. âIâm movinâ to Barcelona next week, I just had to grab the rest of my stuff and leave my keyâ you explained.
âCan I help?â She smiled.
âIâve just got it all in, actuallyâ you pointed towards the very full car. âThatâs the last boxâ you added, looking at the box at the door.
âWell, when youâre finished, why donât you come in?â She hinted, nodding her head towards her own front door.
You remembered the night she made the pass at you, the only thing that stopped you was Alessia. If Alessia wasnât around, youâd have fucked Maria over and over. But now Alessia wasnât around, so of course, you said âYeah, sureâ and shooting her a slick grin. âIâm just goinâ to move the carâ you added.
âPut it in the garage, if you wantâ Maria said, hitting the button on her keys to open her garage door. So, you did just that. You threw the last box in your car, and drove it into Mariaâs garage, taking your hoody off and leaving that in the car too as you were a bit warm from moving everything.
âWhere are ye?â You shouted when you got into the house.
âKitchenâ she called back, now noticing you without your jumper on and your tattoos on full show. âI broke something last week, I was hoping youâd be around to fix it for meâ she said, in a deep, luring voice.
âYeahâ you nodded. âWhat is it?â You asked.
âThe plugâ she mumbled, pointing at the plug socket that was low to the ground. She usually plugged in her vacuum into the apparently broken socket.
âIâll have a lookâ you said, grabbing the spare tool kit youâd left in her house, because she broke things a lot. As you sunk to your knees to assess the damage, she climbed onto the countertop above you.
âWhat do you think is wrong with it?â She asked, as you looked up, realising now you were in a perfect position for something else entirely.
âThe- the socket?â You stuttered, feeling her finger come under your chin and pull your head up to face her.
âNot the socket, Macâ she giggled. âThe problem is, that you should have called me when you broke up with herâ she moaned. âBecause you could have had me, the same nightâ
You possibly would have thought about maybe not fucking your ex girlfriendâs next door neighbour, but you were moving to Barcelona next week, so why not?
âDo ye wanna do this somewhere a bit more comfortable?â You asked, pressing a kiss to her inner thigh as the girl let out a groan.
âStart hereâ she confirmed, pulling your head closer to her. You couldnât really comprehend that at 3pm in the afternoon, you were currently in this girlâs kitchen on your knees with your head between her legs. After about 20 minutes, your legs were starting to cave, sunk into the cold tiled floor, so you eventually pulled yourself away and wrapped her legs around your waist.
âWhereâs your bedroom?â You grunted in the girlâs ear. She wrapped her arms around you as you picked her up, walking towards her bedroom and placing her down a bit roughly. She tugged you down by the T-shirt to be on top of her, before removing it off your body completely.
The bed frame bounced off the wall, a wall which connected this house and your old one, as you railed into the girl. Youâd pushed her over the edge multiple times at this stage, but she just kept begging for more. Your stamina was godly, so you could continue to go for as long as this girl wanted.
âMaria getting railed at 4pm was not on my cards for todayâ Leah chuckled, hearing the noise from the other side of the wall.
âMaybe itâs the ex, againâ Alessia giggled, not understanding she was right, just wrong about whose ex it was that was currently fucking the neighbour.
âMeet you at the window in 10 so we can checkâ Leah laughed, heading in for a quick shower while Alessia made tea for both of them.
You and Maria were still at it 20 minutes later, having tried every position in the book before she tapped out.
âHoly shitâ she groaned as she lay down beside you.
âWas that alright?â You asked.
âPlease come back before you goâ she begged as you smirked. âYou are so sexy, I need you againâ she grunted.
âI can do thatâ you chuckled. âI do need to head back, I have boxes to unload and repackâ you explained, sitting up and getting dressed. As you walked downstairs with the girl trailing behind you, Alessia and Leah simultaneously kneeled on the couch, peeking out the window to catch a glimpse of who had just been in Mariaâs bed.
âSee you soonâ Maria said, kissing you at the doorway.
âYeah, see ye laterâ you smirked with a nod as Alessia went white as a ghost.
She couldnât believe it, she couldnât even think straight as she saw you drive off from Mariaâs place. The person who she just listened to rail Maria was, you?
âIâm going to be sickâ Alessia gagged, sprinting off to the bathroom as Leahâs eyes remained glued to your car and her jaw was firmly dropped to the ground.
The air feels heavy as your hips tremble from your previous orgasms. Your breath catches in your throat. Beneath you, Alexia looks up with a mischievous grin, her vision blurred and her forehead glistening with sweat. You can feel her legs trembling beneath you.
Slowly, you come back to your senses. Your breathing evens out, and the throbbing in your core subsides. Alexiaâs hands rest gently on your hips as her eyes wander over your entire upper body. She takes in every mark, every subtle movement, noticing how delicately your chest rises and falls with each breath.
You get up from her, struggling to walk as your legs still feel wobbly. âShall I help you, amor?â Alexia whispers softly behind you. You turn your head in her direction. âNo, itâs okay. Will you order something to eat?â you ask, raising an eyebrow. In response, she gives you nothing but a warm smile and a nod.
She watches youâof course, she watches you. Her eyes follow the sway of your hips and the unsteady way you move on wobbly legs. For a moment, she bites down on her lip, holding back a smirk, until you disappear into the bathroom.
Without hesitation, she grabs her phone and quickly orders two pizzas for the both of you. As soon as she hears the shower start, she slips on her strap and hurries naked through the apartment. Goosebumps form on her skin from the cool air lingering in the hallway. The bathroom door isnât fully closed but left slightly open.
She pushes the door open a little more, her eyes fixed on you as water trickles down your chest and you work shampoo into your hair. Within minutes, the bathroom is filled with the warm, intoxicating scent of your pheromones. Alexia closes her eyes briefly, taking a deep breath, then steps inside quietly.
She moves slowly and quietly, careful not to startle you. Something inside her feels unfinishedâshe still needs you. Now. Here.
She slides open the glass door to your shower and steps in behind you, her movements careful and deliberate. Her hands find their place around your hips, and you flinch slightly at the unexpected touch. A shiver runs through you as her wet lips press softly against your shoulder blade.
âWhat are you doing here, Ale?â you whisper, your voice uneven, caught between breaths.
âI need you,â she murmurs between tender kisses, her lips trailing along your skin. Her hands glide slowly up your sides, brushing against the outside of your breasts. A soft whimper escapes you as your head tilts back, your mouth slightly open.
Her hands move forward, cupping your full breasts, and your whimper grows louder. Your body reacts instinctively, arching against her, pressing closer. Your breath catches as your voice rises, trembling with a single word: âPlease.â
"How much more can you take, mh?" she asks in a raspy, broken voice before one of her hands moves to your freshly washed hair, clenching a fist and pulling hard on it. You squeal out, unprepared for the sudden pain. "I thought I fucked you well, still so common after so many orgasms," she whispers, her fist tightening.
She pushes your body forward so that your face presses against the glass. "You stay the same, you understand," you nod hastily and wait for Alexa's next move. She lets go of your hair and chest. You feel her two hands resting on your bottom. Her knees plop on the floor as she kneels behind you.
She kisses your ass cheeks softly and gently, and her hands pull your ass cheeks apart until she licks a long strip from your hole to your clitoris. You twitch in a flash, and your legs automatically open wider.
She takes your clitoris between her lips and sucks on it. Her humming between the individual sucking strokes is heavenly, and your mouth opens further without a real sound
"fuck-ale-fuck" you moan softly as you feel alexia's middle finger move to your asshole and it circles her lips still tight around your clit as her finger slides easily into your tight hole a throaty moan leaves your lips the stretching the sucking it all makes your organs knot up
She moves her finger out and in gently before getting faster and rougher. "Ale, not so fast, youâhaven't been there in a while, please," she smirks against your cunt and gets faster in your ass. "Oh, my, I think I can cum like this," you moan against the glass wall.
she lets go of you briefly, "i know you can do it just don't hold it back" she smirks before her lips find your clit again your moans become shaky your walls close tighter around her thick fingers your legs start to give way "fuck i'm cumming" you moan alexia nods and speeds up with a throaty moan you come. your orgasm was intense and long
âlook what a good girl you areâ alexia whispers against you.
Someone just asked you a question regarding someone who youâve done work with in the past.
No need to be like that đ
aye, why should i know about someone's private life? it's her business if she deactivates her account or not why should i interfere, and i don't think she would have told me that she deactivated her account... so why her account, her privacy, stop asking other people about someone everyone has their private life and yes also on tumblr
Lucy tells you where she's going before the two of you come back from Bilbao.
Your last night in Bilbao was not exactly what you expected. For the majority of the team, the party hadn't stopped. You had been in the thick of celebrating, but kept yourself sober for the most part. A few of you had to step up and watch out for the less responsible members of the team. You didn't mind the job, especially with how entertaining it could get at times.
This may have been your first win in the Champions' League, but it wasn't Lucy's. Still, she had taken the opportunity to celebrate with her team. It was going to be her last with them, and both of you knew it. You didn't know where Lucy was going after this, but she felt like she had done everything with Barcelona that she could.
If you were anyone else, you might have been upset about it. However, you understood where she was coming from. Lucy was competitive, and an Englishwoman at heart. She wanted to go back to her home after enjoying what she could in Spain. Barcelona would always be home to her, especially with you having signed a long-term contract. You had done everything you could with the NWSL, and you wanted to retire at the best team in the world.
"I'm going to miss this. I'm going to miss you." Lucy sounded sad, like the reality of leaving was finally hitting her. She hadn't known what it was really like to have you living with her until this year, despite the two of you being on your third year of marriage.
It was a love born out of rivalry, but it held strong. Lucy was your most serious relationship by far, and you were certain that you had to be hers. You had come all the way to Spain for her permanently, even if you knew that she wouldn't stay there forever. Once your contract was up, you'd go up to England to join Lucy. The two of you would probably retire somewhere close to her family, but that wouldn't be for a long time. Lucy felt like she had a decade left of playing, even if you weren't so sure of that yourself.
"It's not too late to change your mind. They'll gladly keep you around," you suggested. Lucy shook her head, never one to stay where she didn't want to. It stung a little, but you were glad for this. She had won this trophy before, but never with you. If it wasn't for your success this season, maybe Lucy would have stayed, but she helped you achieve one of your dreams, and that was all she really wanted.
"I, um, I can't. The announcement is coming soon, but I know where I'm going," Lucy told you. The news came as a bit of a shock to you. Lucy was a decisive person, but the last you had known of this, Lucy wasn't really talking to anyone. There had been a few offers made by teams in the WSL, but Lucy hadn't seemed overly interested in any of them.
"Are you going to tell me where you're going or do I have to wait and find out with the rest of the world?" you asked. A part of you knew that Lucy wanted you to wait. She loved playing these stupid games with you. You couldn't wait though, and with enough begging, you could get Lucy to open up like a book.
"Can I enjoy tonight with you before I tell you?" Lucy asked.
"Fine, but you are telling me before we go to bed." You pressed your finger into Lucy's chest. She grabbed your hand and brought your knuckles up to her lips for a kiss as you added, "And I mean it Lucy. No sex or sleep until you tell me."
"Fiesty," Lucy laughed. You rolled your eyes at her as the two of you continued down the street. Most of your teammates were pregaming for the club scene, but Lucy had found a nice little restaurant a few blocks from the hotel. She had been scoping out the area a bit when it was announced that the finals would be in Bilbao. Although it wasn't until you had beat Chelsea that Lucy made a reservation for the two of you.
"If we had lost tonight, what would this dinner have been for?" You couldn't stop the question from rolling off your tongue as the two of you stepped into the restaurant. It was cozy, definitely a place where you wouldn't have minded drowning out your sorrows. The light and atmosphere were soft, lulling into a sense of comfort that you didn't get in the restaurants Lucy tended to like. This was cozy in a way that Lucy had sought out specifically for you.
"Probably an apology in all honesty. I would have been drunk and angry about losing the final. You know how I get when I lose," Lucy mumbled. She wasn't proud of her behavior, but sometimes you loved it. Lucy was strong, but she rarely highlighted her strength in a rough way with you. The thought of Lucy spending two days taking her frustrations out on you in the hotel bed somehow hadn't crossed your mind at all.
You blushed as your thoughts ran rampant. Lucy cleared her throat as the waiter approached, a subtle warning to rein your thoughts in. You did your best as Lucy ordered a bottle of wine for the two of you. A part of you wondered if this was to soften the blow of her news, mainly because you knew that Lucy had no intention of drinking tonight. However, after the weekend you had, a glass or two of expensive wine sounded absolutely heavenly.
Despite spending practically every moment together, you and Lucy never seemed to run out of things to talk about. She reiterated how glad she was to have the chance to win this with you. Neither one of you had been on your phones very much since winning, but both of you knew that the internet was going crazy over the very public kisses you had shared after years of keeping your relationship a secret.
The wine put you in a slightly more affectionate and giggly mood. Despite what most people would have assumed, Lucy was the openly affectionate one. If she could, she was always touching you. Whether that be something subtle like holding your hand or wrapping herself around you like a koala, Lucy was a very physically affectionate person with you. She craved intimacy in ways that sometimes you just didn't, but you were always happy to give in to most of her whims.
"Careful." Lucy was quick to catch you as you stumbled on the sidewalk. You were definitely a bit past tipsy. It was nothing that would leave a hangover, not if Lucy had anything to do with it. You had nursed hers whenever she had overindulged, and Lucy didn't think she could stand to see you in any bit of pain, even if it was of your own doing.
"'M fine," you mumbled. Lucy shot you a skeptical look, but didn't argue. You may have been a bit softer with her after drinking, but the alcohol did nothing for your mouthiness. If anything, it made your attitude worse than before. "You're hot."
"I think you're hotter," Lucy told you. She bit back a laugh as you nearly tripped again looking her up and down. "Do I need to just carry you to the hotel?"
"Like a piggyback ride?" you asked her. Lucy shrugged, not having put much thought into the way she'd carry you.
"If that's what you want."
"I want you to tell me where you're going next season," you said. Lucy's face fell for a moment as she was reminded of how far you'd be apart for the next few years. "Come on, pleease."
"Don't be mad, but I'm going to Chelsea." Lucy winced as she waited for the impending disapproval. You were an Arsenal girl at heart, even having played there for two seasons on a loan. If Lucy hadn't transferred to Barcelona, you probably would have looked into staying with the Gunners permanently. You absolutely loved Arsenal, having thrown yourself into every aspect of it, specifically hating Chelsea.
"It's not where I would have gone, but at least we know that you look good in blue already."
"You're not mad that I'm gonna be playing against and beating your favorite English team?" Lucy asked you.
"Not to sound mean, but I'm not overly invested in England as a whole. My priorities are Spain and America babe, they're just more fun. I'm just happy that you aren't going back to France," you explained. Lucy just sort of laughed at your reaction and her own nerves surrounding the news in general. "I'm not buying a Chelsea jersey though."
"I know," Lucy sighed. "I'll get you in one eventually."
A/n thank you @silentwolfsstuff for proofreading it for me.
You can still remember the first time you felt different, felt different from your family, from Korbin.
Youâre ten when you and Korbin sit up all night as she talks about Shawn, a boy in your class that sheâs currently crushing on, you listen like you always have and smile as her cheeks redden as she talks about holding his hand in the yard.
Your cheeks redden a short while later but for different reasons, the conversation moves to what boy you have a crush on.
Itâs not a boy, it hasnât been a boy since you kissed Dylan behind the tree in his backyard, You havenât liked a boy since Aaliyah held your hand at the last school dance, since she kissed your cheek in the girls bathroom.
Youâre sick you think,a short while after it happens, thatâs why you have these funny feelings, maybe Aaliyah made you sick by holding your hand and kissing your cheek and thatâs why your stomach feels funny, you feel this sinking feeling in your stomach as you think of it more, youâre sick now, you canât hold anyoneâs hand anymore you canât kiss your mom good night because youâre sick, Aaliyah made you sick and you donât want to give to anyone especially not your family, especially not Korbin and Teagan and Kylar and your Dad. So you stop, no one else can be sick like you, youâll keep it to yourself and that way everyone will be safe.
But you canât tell Korbin this, she doesnât seem to have these types of feelings for girls, sheâs not sick, no one seems to have these types of feeling for girls except your Dad and Kyler, but they're boys, they are supposed to feel that way, they arenât sick like you, it what your mom says, itâs what the pastor says, itâs what the bible says.
You try to stop having these feelings as you get older you really do, you try to pray away your sickness, you pour holy water over your hands daily and you bless yourself extra going to mass but still nothing works.
You get a boyfriend when you turn fifteen a couple of months after Korbin starts dating Ethan you find Will.
Heâs nice and you parents love him the same way his parents love you but you never feel what Korbin and Teagan say they feel with their boyfriends.
They arenât sick like you.
You do however feel it with Kayla, you donât mean to, you never meant to but sheâs soft and nice to talk to not that Will isnât but when you talk with her on the bus ride home from your match and you swear your hearts going to beat out of your chest.
Kayla tries to kiss you a couple of weeks later but you panic âwhat are you doing.â Kaylaâs still has her hands on your face your cheeks slightly squished together âI just thought thatâŠwell you know sinceâŠâ you pull fully back âI have a boyfriend Kay, Will heâs nice and I canât do this to him.â
Kaylaâs eyes widen âwait doesâŠare you saying that if you werenât with Will you would.â You panic at the pulling away stepping back trying to create distance. âIâm not gay.â You state harshly âIâm not sick.â You spit harsher again. Kayla tried to but she really couldnât be mad you looked so heartbroken and so conflicted âok my mistake.â
You avoid her on the bus from then on, and you find yourself sitting alone, sheâs the only other sophomore on the varsity team, if you donât talk to her, sit with her then youâll be alone. You are alone. Youâre the only one whoâs sick.
Youâve been getting called to play for the US since you were thirteen, Korbin following a year later at fourteen. You move along the ranks of football better and your parents canât help but show how happy they are for you, how happy your sisters and brother are for you, but still you feel lost. You still feel sick.
You travel to France in the summer of 2019 itâs a gift from your parents for getting baptised and giving your life to god, you donât do it cause you want to, you do it in hopes it will rid you of this sickness you do it in hopes of being normal.
But it also makes your parents happy it makes Korbin happy as she bounces in the water beside you.
You sit anxiously as the US win the World Cup again. A funny feeling fills you as you watch Kelly OâHara run to the crowd and kiss a girl, sure you knew most of the senior squad players were gay but to actually see one in real life kissing a girl, it felt weird.
But that feeling faded quickly as Korbin let out a small ew at the sight instead your body now felt heavy like you were being pulled down, âI mean I know sheâs a girl kisser but canât she do that in private.â Teagan nods âitâs sick honestly itâs like they are trying to force us into accepting it.â
You and Will are still together, even when Korbinâs gone and had three other boyfriends, but you still donât have those feelings your friends and sisters talk about, maybe you just have to stick with him a little longer.
Maybe you just need to sleep with him and the feelings will start then, maybe the sickness will go away then.
Itâs what you tell yourself leading up to the varsity teams dance, itâs what you tell yourself as you dance with him through the night, itâs what you tell yourself when your kissing in the corner of the hall and itâs what you tell yourself as your lying on the bed Will pressed up against you. But it never happens.
You break up with him just before summer that year. âIâŠ.Iâm sorry Will I just, I donâtâŠthey all have these feelings and I donât have them andâŠyou deserve someone who has them cause your a really great guy and I donâtâŠyou would just be left waiting for me to get feelings I donât think will ever come.â
He takes it relatively well, youâre just happy that you can still be friends, Korbin takes it worse than both of you combined.
âOh my god I just heard, are you okâŠstupid question sorry come on letâs go get ice cream.â You donât know what else to do but you canât indulge in the bad things sheâs saying about him âHeâs not a bad guy Korbin I broke up with him, heâŠI donât have these feelings you and Teagan talk about for him and itâs not fair on him so I broke up with him.â Iâm sick and heâs not and I donât want to put that on him you think.
Korbin takes that as you fancy someone else and the heart to heart you thought you were having turns into gossip about who it could be that you like.
You're seventeen still when itâs time to make a decision about your football career. College is the best option but itâs not the only one for you like it is for Korbin.
The decision hangs heavy in the air, a stark contrast to the sunlit afternoon. Notre Dame, a prestigious institution, beckoned with its ivy-covered walls and storied tradition. It's where Korbin will be but it wasn't the dream. The dream was painted in Carolina blue, a vision of playing for UNC, a place where legends like Tobin Heath and Lucy Bronze had once graced the field.
The phone call from Manchester United shattered the familiar. A senior contract, not a youth academy invite. A chance to step onto the world stage, to play in the WSL not some college league, not the NCAA. It was a dream come true, but a dream that Korbin was still a few years off reaching.
You couldn't help but feel guilty, you were twins you did everything together, but for many years you had been charging ahead in soccer, you just had to hope she'd catch up eventually.
You don't expect it to make major news, your still only seventeen but your mom sends a clip of an ESPN headline stating your signing to Manchester United.
Y/n Albert is on her way to the WSL signing with Manchester United, Albertâs twin sister Korbin commits to Notre Dame.
You move a short while later, your parents coming with you to help you settle into your new apartment, you feel happy, content even until your mom states her worries for you living in the English city.
"I worry about you baby, you know there are so many...gays here and well i don't want any of them trying to force themselves on you, their sick individuals and your my baby."
You feel as though you might throw up then and there at the reminder of your sickness.
"Mom" you whine "No ones going to do anything, I....I'll be fine."
They leave a few days later, with the promise of geting on a flight and coming to rescue you if needed, you brush them off stepping back as your mom moves in for a hug and instead simply waving goodbye.
United finish fourth on the table, but you have a dream first season, so much so you get your first call up to the USWNT, you cry on the phone to Korbin as she cries back about how proud she is, your parents are proud to but your moms also busy wondering if you've met any nice english boys, again the moment is ruined and you feel sick again.
Y/n Albert receives her first call up for the USWNT after a dream first season with the Red Devils, making an appearance in every match this season and starting in nineteen games, assisting Untied star striker Alessia Russo with six of her eleven goals.
It's true you've assisted the majority of Alessia's goals but you haven't celebrated a single one, not on or off the pitch, in fact your team have copped on pretty quickly that you don't want to be hugged, to be touched.
You want nothing more, but the girls are to good to get sick from you, Alessia who you can't help but admit you've got a slight crush for is to good to get this awful sickness from you, its safer if you don't hug...don't touch your teammates.
Y/n Albert receives first cap for the USWNT against Costa Rica in the CONCAF semi-finals which saw the USWNT advancing to the finals after a 3-0 score.
You return back to Manchester, a winner with two senior national team caps under your belt, after facing Canda in the final, your english teamates have won the euros and while they are all showing off their medal standing around hugging your teamates, you stand far back in the corner of your dressing room.
Your medal gets passed around too, you've scrubbed it clean making sure none of your germs are on it so the girls don't get sick, its been in your bag ever since and you simply wave at Less to grab it from there when she asks about it.
It's a big deal, a real medal but you can't cause a fuss over it because then people want to congratulate you, touch you, so you wave it all off.
You wave it off. until a girl around the same age as you with a funny accent hands it back "That's proper cool mate." You look between her and the medal, three maybe four times.
She steps forward her arms open, open for a hug but they swiftly close as you step back and her face falls slightly.
She sticks her hand out "Sorry" and now your eyes flash between her outstretched hand, your medal and her face. "Less says you're not a hugger I forgot, but its really great to meet you mate, I'm Grace."
You don't move, your mind is blank, in fact all you can think about is how she says her Gs a weird way, and as her face falls slightly at your lack of response to her open hand your brain kicks in.
"Y/n." you say shakily, but still don't move. Grace drops her hand smiling and all you can think about is how your stomach erupts into butterflies.
But it only lasts a moment, only a moment until you feel your stomach drop, your blood to go cold and the heavy feeling to fall back on to you.
Your sickness is back, and you can't give it to Grace, not now not ever.
"Shit," Laia swore as she stepped out of the car. Growing up in England, you were more than accustomed to the chilly weather. Laia, however, was absolutely not equipped to handle it. She tugged her coat tighter against herself as she tried to carry in both of your training bags. You smiled to yourself as you watched her sprint inside while you took your time getting the groceries from the backseat. "Hurry up, it's cold!"
"You can close the door, it's only four bags," you told her. Laia shook her head as she watched you. She was staring at you like you were absolutely insane. The weather was a bit chilly, but it had been warm enough for you to only wear a hoodie when you had left earlier. Even that morning, Laia had looked at you like a madwoman whenever the two of you stepped out for training.
Laia shut and locked the door behind you, quickly turning up the heat to a temperature that she felt comfortable in. You thought it was a bit hot, so you changed into a pair of shorts after you put away everything. Laia's eyes bugged out a bit as you walked past her, but this time it wasn't because she thought you were crazy.
You could see the little sliver of desire in her eyes as you sauntered past her in your shorts and tank top. They were from a few seasons ago, back before you had made the switch to defender, so they were a bit tight. Laia seemed appreciative of the extra bits of your body that were on display, especially as the shirt strained against your chest.
"Are you not cold?" Laia asked as you sat next to her.
"No, why?" You knew exactly what she was on about, having caught her eyes dart down to your chest several times. Laia cleared her throat and forced herself to look away. You watched her eyes dart down to your chest one more time before you finally just took pity on her and straddled her lap. "Is there something on my shirt? I guess I should probably take it off then."
"You're evil," Laia mumbled as she let her head fall back. You pouted at her, but still slipped your shirt over your head. "Fuck."
"Can I?" you asked her. Laia nodded without a second thought. At the confirmation, you got off of her lap and walked back to your bedroom. Laia whined at the loss of contact, but went quiet when you came back with the strap. She had fucked you with it more times than either of you could count, but you hadn't used a strap-on since you'd started seeing each other. Laia was quite the giver, so it was pretty rare that you really even got the chance to touch her.
"You want to use that on me?" Laia questioned. Suddenly, you were a bit nervous that you'd overstepped. Laia seemed to pick up on your sudden nerves and was quick to reassure you that it was fine. "This is new. Um, exciting."
"Laia, if you don't want to, I can put it ba-,"
"No, I want it," Laia interjected. You took a deep breath to calm your nerves before you stripped your shorts off. Laia stared at you in awe, her jaw dropping a little as you stood naked in front of her. "Can I put it on you?"
"If you want to." Laia didn't even wait for you to finish talking before she was on her knees in front of you. "You'll tell me if this gets to be too much, right?"
"Yeah, okay," Laia mumbled as she fastened the straps to your waist. The feeling of ridiculousness that threatened to take over disappeared the moment you noticed the way Laia stared at you. She was so obviously turned on that you wondered why you had never tried to do this with her before. "H-how do you want me?"
"Preferrably naked, and then right here on the couch," you told her. Laia stripped out of her clothes as quickly as she could, nearly tripping as she kicked her pants off. You bit your lip as you took in her body, appreciative of everything that she had on display for you. Sometimes you couldn't believe that she was all yours, and you couldn't be happier about it.
You pulled Laia onto your lap, situating her so that the dildo rested in between your bodies. Laia slid over so that she was straddling one of your thighs. You knew how much Laia liked grinding herself against you. She knew that it drove you a little crazy being able to feel her arousal against your leg as you teased her. It was just one of the ways that Laia liked to wind you up to have her way with you after.
This time, it didn't seem that Laia was out to tease you. There was a look of concentration as she ground her hips down gently against your thigh. She wanted to get off, and you weren't going to be the one to stop her. Instead, you sat back and enjoyed the show in front of you. It wasn't all passive, however, as you reached out to grope her breasts.
"Like that, please," Laia moaned. You bit the inside of your lip at the sound of her voice. You could feel yourself getting wet as you watched Laia get herself off. Your fingers tweaked and teased hr nipples. You began to lean forward with the intention of taking one into your mouth, but Laia stopped you, instead intercepting you for a kiss.
The kiss was messy, but you wouldn't have had it any other way. You relished in the feeling of her tongue pushing its way into your mouth with feverent desperation. Laia wanted to taste you, and you weren't going to get in the way of that for a second. You gave her free range in the kiss as your hands began to travel down her body, one settling on her hip as the other moved in between her legs.
"I want you so badly," Laia told you. She had always been open with her attraction to you, but hearing it in this context felt different. You could feel how much she wanted you. You were sure that your fingers were glistening with her arousal from the few small little swipes through her folds that you had managed to make. "I need you inside of me, please."
You were quick to give Laia what she needed. She sank down onto your two middle fingers, and you were given a taste of what your future. Laia's hips moved in time with your thrusts, angling so that the heel of your hand rubbed up against her clit with each thrust. You could feel Laia's grip on your shoulders tighten enough to leave bruises, ones that she'd no doubt try to kiss away when all was said and done.
"Another, I need more. I want to feel myself stretch around you," Laia told you. You felt helpless to do anything other than what she wanted. You weren't even the one being fucked, but you felt sex drunk. The way that Laia's cunt clenched around your fingers was absolutely intoxicating, and you wanted to spend all night buried inside of her. You wanted to make her cum again and again until she was absolutely begging you to stop.
You were pulled from your thoughts by the smashing of Laia's lips against yours. It was all she could manage to do from screaming out your name as she came. You could feel her cum drip a little into your palm. You pouted as Laia moved off of your lap to rest on the other side of the couch. For a moment, you thought that she was finished, but then you glanced over to see her spread her legs wide open for you.
It was all the invitation you'd need, but Laia wasn't finished. Her hand fell between her legs, lazily collecting some of her own wetness onto her fingers before she offered it to you. You sat up on your knees and positioned yourself between her legs as you took her fingers into your mouth. Laia knew that it was for your own comfort, almost constantly finding something to stick into your mouth during sex. She loved it, occasionally bragging about your oral fixation on nights when she had a bit too much to drink.
"Fuck me, hard. Make me scream, I can take it," Laia instructed as she guided the tip of your dildo to her entrance. You had planned on easing your way inside of Laia, but she snuffed that plan out by pulling you in as quickly as she could.
Laia guided you to a quick rhythm which you quickly picked up on your own. Your thrusts began to get a bit wild as you began to realize how close you were to making yourself cum as well. Laia didn't seem to mind one bit as her hand moved between her own legs to help herself catch up with you again.
"I'm so close baby. You're fucking me so good," Laia moaned into your ear. You bit your lip as you let your head drop, nearly resting against her chest as you continued to thrust into her. The two of you were nearly on the verge of breaking the couch when the levee seemed to broke inside of you. Your hips stuttered as you worked yourself through your orgasm, the rocking back and forth inside of Laia being enough to help her cum again.
"I get why you like that so much," you muttered between pants. You hadn't been particularly loud, but you could only find it in yourself to speak quietly. You were exhausted, but you still managed to find the strength to take Laia back to the bedroom. Laia made a beeline straight to your wardrobe as you cleaned up the toys in the bathroom. She was all wrapped up in bed when you got back, and you just threw on a pair of boxers and a t-shirt before you joined her.
Okay I think a cabin in the woods sounds dreamy. Day 8!
It had been your idea to start to get away just the two of you just before Christmas. You originally thought about just going to another city or maybe France but when you told alexia about your thoughts she took the trip to a whole different level. You were on a flight to Norway and would then be driving into the mountains a little to stay in a cabin in the woods. Something you have to admit sounded wonderful but a lot more elaborate than you thought you were going to do.
The car journey was an interesting one, the winding snowy roads made the journey a little scary, but it also meant you and Alexia were on alert and high spirits the whole way. The air became crisper as you climbed the mountains, which had you rolling down your passenger window every couple of minutes to take it in. by the time you reached the cabin, the snow was fulling in delicate flurries around you.
Alexi pulled the car into the little covered spot, cutting the engine as you both took a moment to study the place you would be staying in for the long weekend. Alexia glanced around the outside before she let out a sigh and spoke, âFinally, no one around but us. I love our life but sometimes I just need some space you know.â You hummed in agreement, the crowds and cameras that came with your profession were a constant, so this felt like a dream. The only sound you could hear was Alexiasâs breathing and the soft falling snow.
The cabin was perfect, straight out of a holiday postcard. It was small but cozy, with a stone chimney, snow-dusted evergreens surrounding it, and a warm glow emanating from within. The peacefulness of the mountains settled over you as you unpacked the boot of the car, each of you carrying your bag through the little wooden doorway and into the warmth of the cabin.
Inside, it was even cozier. The main room was centred around a crackling fireplace, with a plush couch and soft blankets draped over it, and just enough space for a small Christmas tree by the window. You breathed in the scent of pine and wood smoke, feeling instantly at home. Alexia wandered around, inspecting the place with a look of pure delight.
âItâs perfect, isnât it?â The grin on her face as she spoke was all the perfect you needed, but you nodded in agreement anyway. She reached her hand out for you and pulled you into her when you took it. You melted into her warmth, feeling all the stress from the season so far and the busy city life fade away.
Once you had both explored the cabin and set your stuff up in the bedroom, Alexia told you to wait on the sofa as she went into a little cupboard you hadnât noticed before. She pulled out a box that you could see had something Santa related peeking out the top. âI asked the owner to grab a few Christmas bits so we could decorate it a little.â She placed the box on the sofa next to you and started to pull out the contents.
There were some fairy lights, some extra ornaments, garland and a shiny star that must be for the tree. The two of you got to work, you started by stringing the lights around the front room of the cabin, laughing together when you had to go back and adjust a few fixings because they were really not symmetrical. Every so often you caught Alexia staring at you, her face set with that far away dreamy look and when you asked, she would just say nothing and continue on. Really, Alexia just couldnât quite believe her luck. She was miles away from the crowds, with the woman she loved, and it was just perfect.
âThis is the best idea youâve ever had,â you told her, finally extricating yourself from the lights and stepping back to admire your handiwork.
She laughed, brushing a few pine needles off her sweater. âI think we needed it. A little holiday break.â
Once all the lights were strung and the garland was hung over the fireplace and the doorways, you turned off the room light and admired the soft glow that covered the room. Alexia pulled out her phone, turning on a Christmas playlist. The first few notes of âFeliz Navidadâ filled the cabin, and you both shared a laugh before she took your hand, pulling you into an impromptu dance around the room.
The evening passed in a blissful daze from then. Youâd stopped at a shop on the way up to by all you needed for the weekend, including for baking. So, when the night sky turned black, and the only part of the snowy outside you could see was the bits that caught the glow of the lights through the windows, you and Alexia moved into the small kitchen to make some cookies.
You both tied your hair back and grabbed aprons before you got a recipe up on your phone and Alexia got the ingredients out and on the worktop. âAlright, chef,â she said, nudging you with her elbow. âLetâs see what weâve got.â
You both fell into an easy rhythm, your laughter filling the cabin as you mixed the dough and tried not to spill loads of flour on the worktops. Every so often, Alexia would sneak a bit of cookie dough from the bowl, pretending she wasnât doing anything until you caught her with a knowing look. She just grinned, a mischievous glint in her eye, and offered you a taste with a wink.
The cookies came out golden brown, filling the cabin with a warm, buttery aroma that had your mouth watering. Alexia grabbed one as soon as they were cool enough to touch, blowing on it before taking a bite. Her eyes widened, and she nodded approvingly.
âThese are good!â she said, holding one out for you. âTry it.â
The cookie melted in your mouth, and you couldnât help the small noise that left your lips upon tasting it. Alexia pulled you closer at that, pressing her lips to yours in a slow kiss. As she pulled away you caught the glint of mischief in her eyes. âSorry, I just needed to taste it some more.â You rolled your eyes at the woman and held the half-eaten cookie in your hands to her lips. After a moment or five in the kitchen eating a cookie or three, you and Alexia cleaned up together. You set the rest of the cookies off to the side for tomorrow.
Cleaning took you both longer than expected because you would pause for some dancing to a good Christmas song or for a quick kiss that normally led to you finding your favourite spot nuzzled into her shoulder. By the time you were finished the night was well and truly upon you.
You both drifted to the sofa, Alexia sat first and pulled you back into her open legs. You settled into her and grabbed one of the blankets off the back of the sofa, draping it across the both of you. You left the music playing softly in the back as you both gazed at the flames flickering in the fireplace, Alexiaâs arm pulling you impossibly closer as you settled into her more and more.
âI wish every day could be like this,â she murmured, her voice low and content.
You looked up at her, catching the soft look in her eyes, her expression calm and relaxed in the golden light. âMaybe one day it can be,â you replied. âFor now, though⊠Iâm just happy we have this.â
She smiled, reaching down to brush a strand of hair from your face, her thumb gently tracing your cheekbone. âMe too,â she said softly, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead, her lips lingering there for a few beats before she pulled back.
You rested your head against her shoulder, letting the warmth of the fire and her steady heartbeat lull you into a peaceful quiet. Outside, the snow continued to fall, blanketing the world in a stillness that matched the tranquillity in the cabin.
After a while, Alexia shifted, reaching for something tucked between the cushions. She pulled out a small, wrapped box, placing it in your hands with a smile that was both shy and eager. âI know itâs not Christmas yet,â she said, âbut I wanted to give you this and I think this is that perfect time.â
You unwrapped it carefully, your heart swelling as you found a small silver bracelet nestled inside. The charm dangling from it was a tiny soccer ball, engraved with both of your initials. You looked up, feeling a lump in your throat.
âI wanted you to have something⊠something to remind you of us, no matter where we are,â she explained, her eyes searching yours for a reaction.
âItâs perfect, Alexia,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âThank you.â
You leaned in, kissing her softly, hoping she could feel everything you couldnât quite put into words. The night stretched on, peaceful and warm, as you held each other by the fire, your hearts full of gratitude for this rare, perfect moment.
these were the moments you cherished most with aggie, the moments where you both were curled up on your couch watching a trashy reality show that neither of you are paying attention to. you both had just arrived back home from a hard training session, muscles were hurting in places you didn't even know muscles were. emma had been pushing you all so much more harder than she ever has, every game was bigger than the last.
you felt the pressure from every angle, you felt it from emma, you felt it from the rest of your team mates and you especially felt it from the fans. this was chelseas's last chance of hope to win a trophy this season, you were slowly starting to crumble under the pressure.
which is why you love moments like these, where aggie was laying ontop of you like she was your own weighted blanket keeping you grounded.
you both showered at the training ground, you having a quick five minute shower to wash the day away while aggie decided that she would wash her hair so when she got home she wouldn't need to move off the couch for the rest of the night.
your arms were loosely wrapped around her stomach while the other was playing with her hair, her hair was almost dry by now it was mostly just the ends that were still damp.
everytime aggie washed her hair you loved the feel of it which sounds weird to everyone but it always felt so soft, you have always envied the way it would always dry pin straight no matter what she did unlike yourself who always has to blowdry it and straighten it just so it would look okay.
aggie's head was resting in the crook of your neck, every so often you would feel her place a handful of delicate kisses against your sweet spot making goosebumps appear.
"your hair is really soft after you wash it," you say lowly, not wanting to scare the girl after sitting in silence for this long. "it smells nice too wait-did you use my shampoo?!"
"i was kinda hoping you wouldn't notice that," aggie sheepishly replied.

Part 10 Part 9 here
A/n: This chapter is quite heavy. There is a homophonic slur used in this chapter that is uncensored and aimed at Alessia. Smut 18+
âSo, you and Y/n?â Liam asked, after a few minutes of the pair sitting silently and sipping from their drinks.
âWhen did you figure it out?â Alessia replied, toying with the small straw that was in her drink.
âYou were both always so weird when I brought the other one up. You acted like you barely knew each other and then Iâd see you two talking and it was like you were best friendsâ he explained.
âIâm sorry I didnât tell youâ Alessia sighed. âI just couldnâtâ
âYouâre okayâ Liam shook his head. âSo, are you-â
âI donât knowâ Alessia let out in a frustrated tone and putting her head in her hands. âI donât know who I am anymoreâ
âItâs okay not to know right nowâ Liam said as he put his hand over hers. âAnd I donât mind what you are, if you want to be friends or something moreâ he smiled, putting Alessiaâs mind exactly at ease.
âWhy are you being so nice?â Alessia asked.
âYouâre a really nice person Less, I donât want to see you upset over just being yourselfâ Liam mumbled, but Alessia knew there was more.
âYouâre being overly niceâ Alessia pressed, landing on only one conclusion. âAre you-â
âNoâ Liam cut her off, chuckling a bit before he continued. âIâm not gay, or into guys. My brother isâ Liam nodded.
âOhâ Alessia breathed out.
âHe had a really hard time coming out, our parents werenât overly happy with it and he tried to- I just donât want you to think badly of yourself for just being who you areâ Liam explained.
âIâm really sorry he went through thatâ Alessia squeezed his hand.
âHeâs okay nowâ Liam nodded. âHeâs engaged actually, to a really nice fella. But just incase you were wondering why I never pushed to introduce you to my parents, itâs because I donât really speak to them anymoreâ
âI never really thought about itâ Alessia hummed back. âI just donât think Iâm ready to come out yetâ
âNobody is asking you toâ Liam continued, taking her hand back in his. âAnd I understand if you donât want to be together anymore, but I can stick around for a bit, until you are readyâ
âWhat do you mean?â Alessia frowned.
âHave you ever heard of a beard?â Liam asked, as Alessia nodded. âI can be yours, if you wantâ
âYou donât need to do thatâ Alessia shook her head.
âYouâre still my friend, and I want to support youâ Liam smiled. âAnd Y/n is my friend, and now that Iâve had time to process it, I think you two would be cute togetherâ he chuckled.
âThank youâ Alessia whispered, standing up and sliding next to him in the seat so she could give him a hug.
âOf courseâ he nodded. âNow, can you answer my question? Who was a better kisser? Me or Y/n?â He smirked as Alessia giggled and rolled her eyes, standing back up and retaking her original seat.
âAre you sure your ego could handle the answer?â Alessia giggled. Liam didnât have an ego. Liam was actually the perfect guy, and if you had any idea this was happening right now, youâd be screaming at Alessia to tell her she was an idiot.
âYouâre perfect, Alessiaâ Liam smiled. âRegardless of who you date, youâll always be perfectâ he hummed, before adding multiple apologies after Alessia started crying.
Thankfully, while Liam and Alessia did like each other, it was still quite early days in their relationship. Neither of them felt like they were in love with the other right now, and thatâs why when they split up, it was easier to remain friends, and a fake couple.
-
You woke up the next morning with such a dull feeling in your head. It was quite possibly the worst hangover youâd ever had in your entire life. On top of that, you were bruised and cut from your fight and your body was aching. You rubbed your eyes to help try and adjust to the sun lighting up the room, and when you were able to open them fully, you noticed a girl on either side of you, wearing very little.
âChristâ you mumbled quietly, moving gently out of the bed to try and not wake either of them up. You could remember vaguely what youâd gotten up to in the bathroom of the nightclub, but you were a bit lost at how youâd ended up in a hotel room with them.
You put back on your t-shirt and trousers quickly as well as grabbing your phone from the bedside table, looking at the endless texts from the boys congratulating you for the fight and for pulling the two fittest girls there last night, which they seemed to find equally, if not more important than your fight.
âLeaving so soon?â One of the girls lips curled into a tired smile as she reached out to grab your arm.
âYeah, Iâve to head offâ you nodded.
âThatâs a shame, I was hoping youâd be hungry for breakfastâ she whispered in your ear, tugging you back towards the bed.
âYou havenât lost your appetite, have you?â The other one piped up, as you gulped loudly at the fact these girls were like carbon copies of each other. Both slim and blonde, with the same eyes. And thatâs when it clicked.
âAre ye twins?â You asked.
âYeahâ they nodded at the same time.
Holy shit.
Youâd hit the jackpot, won the lottery, scored a 90th minute winner. Whatever way you wanted to describe this scenario that most people could only fantasise about.
âSo, are you coming back to bed?â The one further away from asked.
âFuck it, yeah okayâ you grumbled, biting your lip as both girls giggled and they pulled you back into bed.
When you got home, you werenât overly shocked to find Ella in your house. Since she learned how to drive, she could show up at the most random places at the most random times. Youâre not really sure when Ella left last night, but you presumed it was when youâd disappeared into the bathroom with two real life Barbie dolls and didnât return.
âHave a good night last night?â Ella raised her eyebrow at you and you snickered at her question.
âYe could say thatâ you shrugged with a smug look on your face, seeing Finn running towards you as you bent down to pick him up. You felt a shooting pain in your body as you moved, wincing as you dropped to the ground and Ella shot to her feet.
âAre ye okay?â Ella asked, putting her hand on your back.
âYeah, Iâm fineâ you groaned in pain. âCould ye grab me some painkillers from the press?â You muffled, watching Ella walk towards your kitchen and begin digging around for painkillers.
She found a fully stocked first aid bag with the initials AR on them, not paying much attention as she continued to look in it for painkillers. Despite being full, the bag looked like it hadnât been touched in months on end. It had been shoved to the back of the cabinet below your sink with dust starting to layer the top. She got to the bottom of the bag and eventually found them, along with a singular sheet of paper.
The sheet had listed every single one of your injuries from a fight youâd had a few months ago, and all the at home treatments for them. A few had little ticks beside them, and Ella frowned as she pulled that out alongside the pack of painkillers. She poured you a glass of water and took it inside to you, finding you pressed against the wall, holding a very calm Finn in your lap.
âHereâ Ella said, crouching down and putting the glass beside you as the tablets fizzed inside of it. âDo ye know what this is?â She asked, handing you the piece of paper that prompted you to open your eyes.
âRecovery sheetâ you shrugged. âFrom a few months agoâ you added, moving the page around as Ella now saw the scribbled notes on the back of the page.
âThis isnât your writinââ Ella frowned, pulling it back off you to examine it further, and turning the paper around to show you.
âNo, itâs Lessiâs. She did itâ you groaned, holding on to Finn a bit tighter.
A.R. Alessia Russo. Thatâs who owned the first aid kit.
You swallowed back the tablets and huffed out in pain again.
âWhereâs the recovery sheet from this fight?â Ella asked.
âDunnoâ you shrugged. âIâll be grandâ
âToo busy with your new mates and random girls to actually care about lookinâ after yourselfâ Ella quipped as you rolled your eyes.
âThe lads arenât bad, ye just havenât met them properlyâ you explained. âWeâre goinâ out next week, ye should come and meet themâ
âTheyâre not nice ladsâ Ella moaned. âEspecially not that one that ye were with for the whole nightâ
âBen?â You laughed. âBenâs grand, heâs harmlessâ
Eventually, you got Ella to agree to come out with you and your mates. Liam and Alessia had agreed to come as well, and when Ella seen Alessia, she gestured her over immediately. Alessia willingly walked towards your sister and took a seat beside her. The pair caught up, Ella firstly apologising for the night of the proposed going away party, which Alessia told her it was fine, that it was in the past now.
âWhich one is your boyfriend?â Ella asked, looking to the group of boys you were standing with, and noticing the boy beside you was extremely handsome.
âThat oneâ Alessia said, pointing at Liam, the same boy Ella had been looking at.
âHeâs gorgeousâ Ella blurted out. âOh my God, Iâm so sorry, I dunno why I just said thatâ Ella sighed, blushing in embarrassment.
âItâs okayâ Alessia giggled. âHe is in fairnessâ she nodded. Despite not being her actual boyfriend anymore, Alessia could admit that Liam was an attractive guy, which made her even more confused.
Liam had went to get drinks from the bar for him and Alessia and when he spotted you, heâd gestured you over to talk to him.
âHeyâ you nodded.
âHow are you?â He asked, a smile on his face, one youâd never be able to tell by that he was aware of absolutely everything.
âIâm good mate, how are ye?â You hummed back.
âIâm goodâ he wrapped his arm around you. âDo you know the girl sitting beside Alessia?â He tried to ask subtly.
âYeah, itâs my sisterâ you replied.
âWhat does she drink?â Liam asked, stuttering a little bit as he looked over in their direction.
The two of you got the four drinks, one for each of you and one for the two blondes sitting giggling beside each other. Somehow youâd managed to take Alessiaâs one and Liam had taken Ellaâs.
âHereâ you said, handing Alessia the drink. âHiâ you added.
âHiâ she smiled, taking the drink from you and adding, âThank youâ. You let yourself get lost in eyes for a few seconds before Liam cleared his throat, and you turned around to see him still holding two drinks, as you were blocking the way to get to Ella.
âUh, Liam, this is Ella, Ella this is Liamâ you introduced them as he handed her the drink and she smiled back at him.
âNice to meet youâ Liam eventually said.
âYou tooâ Ella replied, as you turned back to Alessia.
âHow have ye been?â You asked quietly, making the girl smile that you seemed interested in talking to her. She looked good tonight, almost like she was dressing to impress someone.
âIâve been-â
âY/nâ the boys shouted. âCome on, we have shotsâ they called, as one of them came and physically pulled you towards the group.
âThey seem like arseholesâ Ella huffed, as whatever conversation her and Liam were having had stopped as well. âSorry, no offenceâ Ella added, looking at the boy.
âThey areâ he agreed. âIâll go overâ Liam whispered to Alessia as he left where they were sitting and walked over to the boys.
âIs he friends with them?â Ella asked Alessia.
âNot really anymoreâ she shook her head, eyes glued to you as they were practically pouring shots and drinks down your neck.
They treated you like royalty, because they knew the more that you hung around with them, the more girls would be attracted to coming to spend the night with the group. Their tactic worked always seemed to work because as soon as you had joined them, a group of girls eventually came over, picking you off one by one of who they wanted to be with. A tall girl with jet black hair had strutted towards you, she wasnât your usual type, but you could admit she was attractive.
âWhy are you sitting here all alone?â She asked, gripping your arm with her hand.
âWas waitinâ for ye to come over to meâ you flirted back, hooking the girl in as she traced her fingertips up your arm.
Alessiaâs stomach twisted, as she made eye contact with Liam who mouthed âDo you want to leave?â at her.
âPlease donâtâ Ella said quietly, clearly her eyes had been fixated on Liam too. âDonât leave me with them on my ownâ she pleaded.
âI canât stay and watch her with someoneâ Alessia admitted, not being afraid to admit this to your sister. âItâs too difficult, Ellaâ
Ella looked over in your direction, you were still just talking to this girl, not having kissed her just yet. She watched as Ben walked towards you and the girl, fist bumping you before turning to the girl. Ella obviously couldnât make out what he was saying to her, but you were finding it hilarious, and the girl looked uncomfortable, squirming in her seat.
âAre you going to let him speak to me like that?â The girl snapped, loudly, catching the attention of Liam who was stood fairly close by.
âI donât even know your name, darlinââ you shrugged, acting like you didnât give a shit.
âBen, give overâ Liam shouted at him sternly, making the boy huff and walk away.
âYouâre a pigâ the girl tutted at you, making you laugh again.
Ella had never seen a girl walk away from you before sheâd kissed you. Usually it would be after theyâd slept with you and youâd tell them it was just a one night thing, but never this. Ella stormed over to you and pulled you by the arm to face her.
âWhat did he say to that girl?â She demanded to know, wagging her finger at you before pointing it at Ben.
âNothinââ you snickered.
âWho even are ye? Tryinâ to act all hard in front of the lads? Itâs not a good look on ye, it doesnât suit yeâ Ella roared.
âWill ye fuckinâ relax?â You frowned, shoving her hand away from you.
âYouâre a horrible personâ Ella bit back a sob as she shouted at you.
âYouâre a little moronâ you said back, standing up from your seat as if you were trying to intimidate her.
âNo, noâ Liam interrupted, pulling you away from your little sister. âYouâll regret this in the morning, just think about what youâre doing and who that isâ Liam whispered as you shrugged him off, lurking after the girl whoâd walked away from you a few minutes ago. Whatever you said to her, it looked like youâd talked her around and she left with you. âAre you okay?â Liam asked Ella, who shook her head. Alessia used her initiative and had grabbed her and Ellaâs things as she walked over to the two of them.
âI need a drinkâ Ella explained to the couple.
âLetâs leaveâ Alessia suggested. âWe can go somewhere else?â She asked as Ella and Liam nodded, and followed her out the opposite door youâd just took that girl out.
The trio had left the bar, heading to a different night club that was in walking distance from where you had been.
âIâm just goinâ to go to the bathroomâ Ella shouted when they got inside, while Alessia and Liam went to the bar.
âSo, you think Ellaâs pretty?â Alessia teased, nudging the smiling boy at the bar.
âWhy does everyone I like have something to do with Y/n?â He chuckled softly, tapping his card to pay for the three drinks. âShe is though, pretty likeâ he nodded.
âShe thinks you are tooâ Alessia whispered.
âShe thinks Iâm pretty?â Liam smirked, making Alessia laugh.
âI believe the word she used was gorgeousâ the blonde giggled. âShe knew about me and Y/n, so if you did want to go for it, I can tell her youâre not my boyfriendâ Alessia explained.
âDo you think sheâd tell Y/n?â Liam asked.
âI donât think theyâll be talking anytime soonâ Alessia explained.
âNow that weâre alone, if there is someone here tonight that you want to, you know, Iâm not stopping youâ he added, feeling Alessia squeeze his hand before they spotted Ella coming back from the bathroom and the three of them headed to the dance floor.
The three of them were dancing around and Alessia could tell Liam really wanted to go for it with Ella.
âGo for itâ she whispered in his ear.
âThereâs a girl over there thatâs been staring at you since she walked inâ Liam added, making Alessia look over at the girl who smiled and gave her a little wave.
âWhatâs wrong?â Ella interrupted them, looking behind to see the girl staring at Liam. âDo ye want me to go tell her to fuck off?â
âNoâ Alessia shook her head.
âSheâs been staring at Alessia since she came inâ Liam chuckled, making Ella realise he was right, she wasnât staring at him, she was staring at Alessia. âGo talk to herâ he encouraged.
âWhy would she do that?â Ella frowned, forcing the ex couple to look at each other before they looked back to her.
âLiamâs not my boyfriend anymoreâ Alessia admitted. âWe broke up after Y/nâs fight and I told him everythingâ
âAre ye alright with her goinâ to talk to her?â Ella asked, waiting for Liam to nod. âThen go on Russo, go have fun!â Ella shouted, practically pushing the girl towards the stranger.
âOkay, okayâ Alessia sighed, walking off towards the girl.
âSorry, that probably wasnât explained the bestâ Liam said, once him and Ella were alone. âCan I get you another drink and explain?â He asked, sticking his hand out for Ella to take so they could get to the bar together.
The more Liam spoke, the more Ella found him attractive, just taking everything in his stride, no questions asked and being a supportive ally. The fact it was his idea and he was willing to pretend to be Alessiaâs boyfriend all for her not to have to rush coming out had Ella weak. She thought about how bad it would be if she was to kiss your best friend, but after youâd gotten so thick at her, she really didnât care right now.
âCan I kiss ye?â Ella asked, as Liam subtly nodded and kissed her.
While that was going on, Alessia was also getting a bit of luck and confidence back with the girl she was talking to. The girl was all over Alessia, so the blonde didnât really have to do much, but Alessia eventually did confidently connect their lips and kissed the girl.
Finally, Alessia had felt like she was starting to be herself and that people in her life were going to accept her for who she-
âIs that Liamâs bird?â One of the lads asked Ben, having just walked into the nightclub.
âIt canât beâ he frowned, standing for a second to get a proper look, only finding it was in fact Alessia.
âShould we say something?â
âLeave itâ Ben shook his head, and from the corner of his eye, saw Liam with your sister. âCome on, we go somewhere differentâ Ben hummed, as the boys turned and walked out and went somewhere else.
You woke the next morning in a bedroom you didnât recognise, seeing the girl youâd gotten with lying beside you, thankfully still asleep.
Y/n đ„”
Hey, can you come get me?
You can just drop me to Ellaâs, should probably go say sorry
Liam woke to the text message from you, Ella lying beside him and Alessia and the girl in the other room of Alessiaâs house.
âElla, wake upâ Liam said quietly. âY/n text me asking me to come get her and drop her to yoursâ
âShitâ she grunted, standing up to get changed quickly, matching pace with how fast Liam was moving too. âWaitâ she paused suddenly, wrapping her arms around the boys neck and kissing him.
âI had fun last nightâ he smiled.
âMe tooâ Ella nodded.
âCould I get your number? Iâd really like to take you outâ he asked, allowing Ella to punch her number into his phone.
âCan ye drop me on the way? Just so I can make it look like I didnât spend the night hereâ Ella chuckled as Liam agreed. He dropped Ella back to her house and drove about 15 minutes to collect you. Once youâd heard the girl starting to wake up, youâd made a run for it, so he collected you on a random street about a mile from the girlâs house.
âHave a good night?â He asked, not really able to make eye contact with you after what he did.
âYeah, she was alrightâ you shrugged. âNeed somethinâ to eatâ you added. He drove you through a drive thru and let you eat it in his car, before dropping you back to Ellaâs house.
Howâd he know where Ellaâs house was?
You were too hungover to ask right now, so you just thanked him and let him speed off, back in the direction of Alessiaâs house.
âWhat are ye doinâ here?â Ella huffed, pretending to be shocked you had arrived at the door and hadnât just had a pre warning.
âCame to say sorryâ you mumbled.
âGo on thenâ she challenged, folding her arms, still dressed, you presumed, in her pyjamas.
âSorryâ you sighed. âI was a dickheadâ you added, which seemed to be to her satisfaction.
âCome inâ she said, stepping back to let you inside. Caitlin and Katie had gone away a few days ago, delaying their holiday until after your fight. Ella made you some tea, and you both sat snug on the couch for a few hours, watching TV and going in and out of naps.
âDo ye want me to stay tonight?â You asked.
âYeahâ Ella nodded. âI donât like them boysâ she eventually said.
âYeah, I got thatâ you moaned. âLiamâs not bad though, isnât he not?â You mumbled.
âNo, I like himâ Ella bit back the smile she wanted to let out just at the thought of him. âYe should invite him to that event ye have to go toâ Ella added.
âYe said ye would with me thoughâ you frowned.
âIâll still come, ye had a plus two didnât ye? Bring him as wellâ she suggested.
âYeah, okay. Good ideaâ you nodded, taking your phone out to send Liam a message, not knowing that Ella had been texting him all day.

You had an event that you were obliged to attend. Sponsorâs were holding an event night which was a sit down dinner followed by a drinks reception. It was mostly boxers, but there was a few other people from the sporting world there too with their guests. It was black tie, so you had driven to Ellaâs to get ready rather than getting changed and having to drive in your outfit for over an hour.
When you got there, you headed off to Katie and Caitlinâs bedroom to get ready, both of them still off in Australia during their downtime visiting Caitlinâs family.
You heard the doorbell and shouted at Ella to go and answer it, letting her know it was probably Liam. It was Liam. Ella knew it was Liam. She was already half way down the stairs by the time youâd even shouted to answer the door.
âHiâ Liam smiled as Ella swung the door open.
âYe look so handsomeâ Ella giggled, fixing his suit jacket and tie that had just so happened to match the colour of her dress.
âYou look beautiful, Elâ he replied, kissing her quickly before stepping into the house. The pair had been secretly seeing each other since that night, with the full support of Alessia, who in a strange turn of events, was now keeping Ellaâs secret.
âEveryone ready, yeah?â You asked, stumbling down the staircase, puffing on a vape.
âStop vapinâ in the houseâ Ella shouted, making you laugh.
âYou look goodâ Liam said, patting your shoulder.
âYe do tooâ you nodded at him. âAppreciate ye cominââ you added, stepping out of the house to puff your vape without being shouted out.
You were sat at a table with a few boxers from different parts of the world. You knew a few, and some you didnât. Ella was sat beside you and Liam beside her, but you werenât really talking much, too busy inhaling your food. There was two seats empty opposite you on the table and as you finished your first dish, you looked up to see two people being placed in the seats. The worst two people possible.
âDonât say anythinââ Ella whispered, putting her hand on your leg. âDonât give her the satisfaction Y/nâ she pleaded, forcing your eyes away from the two of them, who hadnât noticed you yet.
âOh, look who it isâ Clara laughed, nudging her girlfriend to look in your direction.
âAs if you are hereâ Emily scoffed, rolling her eyes.
âIâm gonna go to the bathroomâ you mumbled, standing up from the table and leaving Ella and Liam there.
âEmilyâ Ella whispered to Liam, but he didnât look confused, he knew exactly who the two girls were.
âJust ignore themâ Liam quietly muffled back, putting his hand on Ellaâs back.
Meanwhile, you were in the bathroom freaking out. You were trying to remember what the room looked like, where the exits were so you could run. You pulled your phone out and hovered over your text message thread with Alessia, debating to call her or text her, but Alessia wasnât yours anymore. She didnât care about you anymore, so, you had to face this on your own.
You wondered did Emily treat Clara like she treated you too. If the girl who youâd argued with and fought with for years on end, if you actually had more in common with her than you thought. But she didnât seem flustered when she was with Emily, she didnât ever seem like she wasnât the one in control.
You gave yourself a pep talk in the mirror, before retaking your seat at the table. You got through the dinner, although you remained completely silent. When the dinner ended, you tried to sneak out the back exit, but you were instead ushered to the drinks reception. Liam stuck by your side for the entire time, not leaving you for a singular second, even going so far as following you outside so you could vape, despite hating the smell of them.
âWant a bit?â You asked Ella.
âNo, Iâm not vapinâ really anymoreâ Ella shrugged, making Liam bite his lip to stop himself laughing at the fact sheâd stopped due to him.
The three of you were sat on a wall outside, you between both of them as you were puffing the vape. From the corner of your eye, you could see Emily and Clara screaming at each other. You knew from their interaction that there was no fear in Clara, youâd have never been able to act like that with Emily. You watched Clara storm off, and as you instinctively went to stand up, Ella put her hand across you.
âDonât even think about itâ Ella said bluntly.
âIâm just gonna go check that sheâs alrightâ you explained.
âSheâs fineâ Liam inputted.
âSheâs cryinââ you frowned âIâll be back in a minuteâ you mumbled, sliding your vape into your pocket and ignoring the two of them as your feet walked you to Emily.
âWhat do you want Y/n?â Emily huffed at you when youâd stood yourself beside her at the bar.
âI just came to make sure ye were alrightâ you gulped, already regretting doing this.
âSheâs just so stubbornâ Emily moaned. âSometimes I miss how easy it was with you. It wasnât as difficult to get you to pay attention to meâ
âDo ye need me to do anythinâ?â You asked, watching as Emily looked you up and down before turning her head back to her drink, with an evil grin on her face.
âGod, look at youâ Emily snickered. âDo you know what people say about you, Y/n?â
âWh-what?â You stuttered out, feeling her tug you towards her by your shirt. You felt that an uneasy feeling in your chest come back, one you hadnât felt in months.
âThey say you could get any girl you want. That youâre some kind of heartbreaker. Youâ she laughed wickedly. âYet here you are, acting like a pathetic little puppy because youâre still in love with meâ she smirked.
âI, uh-â
âI, uhâ she repeated, mocking your accent. âAdmit it, you still love meâ she spat sharply, tugging your t-shirt a little tighter as you gulped down the thoughts of telling her you hated her, knowing that would end badly for you. âI said, admit itâ she barked.
âYeah, I still doâ you stuttered out, completely lying but not sure what else to say. She reached her hand around to the back of your head and tugged you towards her lips. As her lips hit yours, your whole body went stiff and numb at the same time.
The kiss had been going on for far too long before Ellaâs stomach began to turn.
âDo somethinââ Ella trembled, pushing Liamâs arm as he scrambled to get to his feet and rushed to get beside you.
âThere you areâ Liam said, tugging you backwards by the shoulder and pulling you so far back heâd somehow managed to get himself between you and Emily, facing away from her. âEllaâs looking for youâ he said sharply, pushing you towards the door.
âExcuse meâ Emily shouted at him. âWe were in the middle of somethingâ
âListen here you little ratâ Liam spat, never having phrased something so harsh before in his entire life. âYou ever so much as look in her direction again-â
âWhat are you going to do?â Clara asked, appearing again from behind Liam. âCan I help you with something?â She frowned, handing Emily a drink.
âHeâs just one of Y/nâs little petsâ Emily giggled, not seeming in anyway phased by his little outburst.
âIâd suggest jogging back off over there big ladâ Clara raised her eyebrows at him. âBack to your little friendâ Clara teased, making a small gesture to indicate that you were in some way small. You were more built than her.
âA lot of talk for someone thatâs afraid to sign a contract to fight herâ Liam blurted out. âAre you afraid if you lose that your girlfriend might cheat on you again?â He challenged her.
âWhat?â Clara frowned.
âOh, you havenât told her?â Liam turned to Emily, colour completely wiped from her face. âYou can ask anyone here what sheâs been up to in the last 10 minutesâ he added, before brushing by the both of them to get back outside to you.
âWhere have ye been?â Ella frowned.
âYeah, so, I think we should go actuallyâ Liam suggested, gesturing the two of you towards an exit that was furthest away from Clara and Emily.
The three of you gathered your stuff and left, Ella and Liam a few steps ahead of you. The two of them had just stepped outside when you heard something that stopped you.
âMcCabeâ Clara shouted, and you donât know why you did, but you turned back. âYouâre onâ she said, sticking her hand out for you to shake.
âSee ye in the ringâ you replied, shaking her hand before the two of you walked away from each other, vowing to submit your signatures on the appropriate documents and leaving the rest up to promoters to sort out.
đš BREAKING: Itâs on. Y/n McCabe and Clara James have finally agreed on terms to fight with all titles on the line for both boxers. A venue and date will be announced soon as tickets are set to go on sale late next week.

The date was set for four months time. So, you were taking one more week off before you were going into an extra long camp. Nothing was going to distract you from this fight, there was too much on the line and too much at stake to even think about losing.

When Katie and Caitlin had came home, they were very quickly back to work. You went with Liam, Ella and the lads to one of their first games back. Liam had sat on the further side of Ella, while you were between her and Ben.
As the girls ran out onto the pitch, Alessia gave Liam a quick wave, and he gave her one back, still playing the part of her boyfriend. The interaction made Ben snicker, but you thought someone else had just said something funny that you couldnât hear. Leah ran over next, looking up to the crowd and offering you a smile and a wave which you ignored, turning your head off to talk to Ben.
âDid she not just wave at you?â Ben asked, confused as to why youâd ignored her.
âBeen there, done thatâ you smirked, making both of you laugh and Ella roll her eyes.
âWas she good in bed?â Ben mumbled to you, as you bust out laughing, puffing on your vape.
âShe was alrightâ you shrugged, which the boy seemed to find amusing.
âIâd give her a goâ he added, smugly.
âDonât think youâre her typeâ you shook your head as he pushed your arm playfully.
âCan ye stop?â Ella huffed to you as you continued to talk to Ben in a more hushed tone.
You didnât really know what the Arsenal girlâs were doing after the game, but you knew that you were going out with the lads. So, you didnât wait around to find out, you just left with them and went off to get drunk. Eventually some of the Arsenal girls, Liam and your sister all joined you at the venue. Liam had told you he was waiting for Alessia, but realistically, it was because Ella didnât want to be there for longer than she had to be with your mates. Liam had completely distanced himself from them, not being able to stand a single one of them anymore. Liam was also hoping youâd be drunk by the time he turned up, because Alessia wasnât with the group that had just arrived. She had went home, not up for a night out after the game.
Liam was stood to your left side, ordering a round of drinks, while Ben was stood to your right hand side. You hadnât noticed Liam was there, because you and Ben had been talking about something before he completely changed the topic, speaking a bit louder than before.
âWhat do you think of Liamâs girlfriend?â Ben asked, eyebrows raised. âWould you be into her?â
âWho? Alessia?â You frowned, trying to delay this conversation for as long as possible.
âYeah, Alessia. I was just thinking youâre into fit blondes, so I thought youâd probably be into herâ he smirked, watching Liamâs fist that was resting on the bar close up. âAnd she is a fit little thing to be fairâ he added.
âThatâs enoughâ Liam snapped, slamming his fist against the wood and forcing you to spin around, noticing him now for the first time.
âWhy? Is it because youâre not together anymore?â Ben asked, quite sternly and matter of fact.
âI said stopâ Liam argued back, pushing Benâs shoulders causing him to stumble backwards. You put your hand on Liamâs chest and gently stopped him from pushing Ben again. âWhy are you joining in with this? Allowing them to belittle people you are meant to care aboutâ he huffed.
âRelaxâ you frowned. âWeâre just havinâ a laugh, itâs not a big dealâ you explained, letting your hand fall and you stood backwards, feeling content that the situation was defused.
âItâs not fucking funny when-â Liam began.
âOh come on mateâ Ben chuckled. âSomeoneâs just angry because his girlfriendâs a queerâ Ben snickered, and a few of the other boys joined in laughing.
âWhat the fuck did you just say?â Liam snapped, putting your quick reactions to the test as he lunged forward. You pushed him back again by the chest, feeling how heavy he was breathing as your eyes went wide that you knew he knew.
âI donât know who the two of you think youâre fooling! We all saw her kissing that girl, and do you want us to tell the person currently holding you back who we saw you kissing?â Ben chuckled.
âTheyâre not worth it, just breatheâ you whispered to him, holding him back quite easily despite his efforts to get to Ben.
âOh, I get itâ Ben laughed. âYou told Y/n to have your girlfriend, so you could have her sexy little sister. Is that it?â
Nope. Absolutely not.
You took your hands off Liamâs chest and swung your fist, connecting it to Benâs jaw as the boy dropped to the ground, clutching his face.
âYe donât ever speak about my little sister like that ever againâ you shouted, as you and Liam had now swapped positions and he was pulling you back. âAre ye gonna call me a queer?â you snarled, as all the boys took a step backwards out of fear youâd hit them too. Most of these lads were scrawny, they werenât built like you and Liam were.
âCome onâ Liam muffled, doing his best to pull you away as the boys helped Ben to his feet. Liam had gotten you to an empty smoking area, watching you punch the brick wall at full force and gulping harshly. âJust anywhere but the faceâ Liam blurted out, standing as still as a statue.
âWhat are ye talkinâ about?â You huffed.
âI get youâre annoyed about me and Ella, so just if youâre going to hit me just not in the face, pleaseâ he begged.
âI donât care if youâre with my sisterâ you sighed. âAre ye jokinâ? Thatâs a good part in all of thisâ you added.
âOhâ Liam breathed out.
âHow long ago did ye break up with Lessi?â You asked.
âShe told me everything on the night of your fightâ Liam explained.
âEverythinâ?â You repeated, watching the lad nod his head.
âIt reminded me about the conversation we had, about your ex. You were so vague about the one that wasnât Emily, but I could tell you still werenât over herâ Liam said. âAnd I can tell you, sheâs not over youâ he added.
âWhat?â You frowned.
âAlessia is still in love with youâ Liam stopped for a second before speaking again. âDo you still-?â
âYeahâ you nodded, feeling him pull you into a hug.
âGo fucking get her, Y/nâ he whispered, pushing you backwards and nodding his head towards the exit. You walked to the back gate, before stopping yourself and turning back to him.
âWhatever is goinâ on with my sister, Iâm not gonna get in the wayâ you said honestly.
âItâs not casualâ Liam explained. âIf that helpsâ he chuckled.
âIâll process it on my walkâ you laughed, pushing the gate open and sprinting off down the street as Liam went back inside.
You ran the entire way to Alessiaâs house, not even stopping to think that there was a possibility she mightnât even be home. It had also started lashing rain in typical London fashion, so by the time you were knocking on Alessiaâs door, you were soaked to the brim.
âY/n?â Alessia frowned, swinging her door open. âWhat are you doing? Itâs lashingâ she said, pulling you by the hand to come into the house.
âSorry, I, uh-â you trailed off, the cold you were feeling taking over your body as you shuddered.
âCome here, youâre shakingâ Alessia pouted, putting her hand back over yours. You pulled your hand out from underneath her, but as Alessia went to protest, you wrapped your arms around her and rested your head on her shoulder.
âIâm sorry, Lessiâ you sobbed.
âItâs okayâ she cooed. âItâs all okay, you have nothing to say sorry about right nowâ she repeated. Your clothes were soaking from the rain, and despite having just got changed into a fresh set of clothes she let you stay there, wrapped in her arms.
âI didnât know about- I didnât know Liam knewâ you added a bit more context as to why you had shown up at her door. âIf Iâd have known sooner, Iâd have been here soonerâ you stated.
âWell, I would have been here, waiting for youâ Alessia whispered, her hand falling to the back of your head. âItâs always you Iâm waiting forâ she said, before she pressed her lips against yours.
âLessiâ you moaned. âI want ye so badlyâ
âIâm yoursâ Alessia said quietly in your ear, turning her body to pull you upstairs to her bedroom.
Once the bedroom door shut, Alessia made quick work of taking off your T-shirt and jeans, which in fairness, you were going to need to change out of in anyway. Alessia pushed you over towards her bed as you allowed yourself to fall backwards. Your back had barely just hit the mattress before Alessia was straddling your lap, still in her t-shirt and shorts. While her tongue slipped past your lips, your fingertips found the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head.
Your hands moved to her chest, applying pressure to all the right places before you kissed downwards on her body. You wrapped your arm around her lower back, putting it there to help guide her to lie on her back. Your mouth stayed on her chest while your hands were in use, removing her shorts and underwear. Once youâd gotten them off, you felt her hand pushing your head downwards.
âAre ye sure?â You asked, stopping suddenly when you realised this was getting a bit intense.
âYouâre all I want, Y/n/n, pleaseâ Alessia panted as you quickly shot downwards and got to work.
A good while later, the two of you eventually stopped. Youâd missed Alessia so much, she was definitely the person youâd had the best connection with, sexually and romantically. You glanced over at her and it looked as though sheâd drifted off to sleep. You loved Alessia, you really loved Alessia. It was hard not to be in love with someone as perfect as she was.
But you couldnât be another secret. You couldnât go through another relationship where the person had the potential to hurt you. Youâd been through enough, and you just couldnât take another heartbreak. So, you slid upwards, sitting at the edge of the bed, waiting for your eyes to readjust so you could find your clothes.
âWhere are you going?â She hummed, watching you sit at the edge of the bed as youâd started getting ready. She noticed you looked tired, and filled with regret.
âShould probably go homeâ you shrugged. âItâs lateâ
âAre you using your rules on me?â Alessia scoffed.
âNo, itâs not thatâ you shook your head.
âI thought I meant more to you than your stupid little rulesâ she huffed.
âLessi, itâs not thatâ you groaned. âI just think itâd be better if I leftâ
âDonâtâ she blurted out as your head spun around, facing her for the first time since you watched her eyes roll into the back of her head. âPlease donât goâ she pleaded, a little anxious about how needy she was coming across.
âI donât wanna pressure ye, Lessiâ you shook your head.
âThereâs no pressureâ she whispered.
âI canât be just a casual thing with yeâ you sighed. âAnd I donât think I can give you my everythinâ again and keep beinâ hidden away like I donât matterâ you shook your head, knowing youâd do anything to have her back but trying to put yourself first for a change.
âYouâre the first person that I felt like I could just be myself with, and I donât want to lose you, not againâ she placed her hand on yours as she moved a little closer to you.
âLessiâ you said as you cupped her face with your hand.
âI donât want there to be secrets this time. I want everyone to know Iâm yoursâ Alessia said confidently as your mouth opened slightly, trying to get words out. âI love youâ Alessia added, and, well, you knew how to respond to that.
âI love you tooâ you smiled, pressing your lips to hers while she pulled you gently back into her bed.

The chalet isâŠwell, perfect. Itâs the kind of perfect that only comes from meticulous planning, obsessive list-making, and a kind of restrained indulgence that most people would never understand. Set high above a tiny Swiss village known for its fondue and twenty-something millionaires, it sits against a backdrop of mountains sharp enough to slice the clouds. The exterior is severe, almost aggressively minimalistic: crisp white stucco, blackened wood shutters, and glass doors that could double as showroom installations. The effect is daunting, beautiful, andâif youâre being honestâa bit over-the-top. You chose it, naturally, because itâs the type of place where âjust a flingâ can occur without a single hint of domesticity.
Inside, everything is pristine, hand-selected, curated to within an inch of its life. You were adamant that the linens be Egyptian cotton, but not the gaudy kind; theyâre 800-thread count, light enough to seem insubstantial but woven to feel solid, unyielding. Theyâre arranged in clinical folds on the bed, starched and pressed in a way that suggests theyâre almost afraid to be touched. Youâll mess them up later, but for now, theyâre an artwork of restraint.
And then there are the wines, selected with the sort of care that would make a sommelier weep. Itâs silly, of courseâAlexia doesnât normally drink during the season, so she will hardly glance at the labels, but youâve assembled an array that hints at depth nonetheless. An entire wall of Swiss Chasselas, a few rare vintages from Bordeaux, and an stupidly expensive pinot noir that tastes like dirt but cost enough to suggest you know what youâre doing. The idea is that if she gives in to something sophisticated, sheâll find it here. If she doesnât, youâll find her something else. Something that says youâve thought of everything. Which, of course, you have.
The whole thing has a sort of perverse charm, really, how every detail has been obsessively pre-arranged to ensure that she knows youâre not in this for anything serious. And yet, here you are, flying her across Europe to the kind of setting people book for anniversaries and life-altering proposals.
Thereâs a sort of humour in it, if youâre willing to look. You even laugh to yourself, laying out the spa towels in the bathroomâtoo thick, too plush, a little too âI love youââknowing full well she wonât notice them. Sheâll think of them as âtowels,â and if she does notice, itâll be because she needs a new one. But thatâs fine. Itâs all part of the performance, all part of the thing youâve constructed around this chalet, around her arrival, around the notion that this isâwhat? Casual? Fun? Whatever word fits it neatly enough to deny what youâre feeling.
And then there are the candles. Oh, God, the candles. You tried to keep them simple, restrained, the kind of scents that evoke a distant memory rather than a specific moment. Sandalwood, bergamot, a flicker of pine; nothing too floral, nothing that says âromance,â but hints of something just familiar enough to feel safe. You even toyed with the idea of an unscented option, just in case the pine felt too⊠suggestive. Itâs ridiculous, but youâve learned to lean into it, to control it, to package it neatly. If itâs planned, then itâs deliberate, and if itâs deliberate, then itâs just for fun.
âWhy all this?â you imagine her saying, eyebrows raised, maybe laughing as she notices the excessive stock of Swiss chocolates in the cabinet. You have them lined up in neat rows, the artisan kindâno corner-shop Toblerone hereâand each one is individually wrapped in foil that gleams in the dim kitchen light. You picture her rolling her eyes at the small mountain of truffle boxes, asking if youâve stocked up for a wedding. And you, of course, would shrug it off, offering some deadpan line about Swiss tourism. Or a joke about Swiss efficiency. Or something suitably bland that keeps the tone right where you want itâon the edge of humour, a step away from real. Youâve prepared for every reaction, really. Which is pointless, because she hasnât even arrived yet.
Itâs the first time sheâs been here. The place is new, purchased after a very well-timed therapy session that conveniently rebranded âself-indulgenceâ as âself-care.â The therapistâs exact words were âIf you want to be your best self, find the spaces that let you breathe.â And you took that literally, flying up here for private viewings until this place caught your eye. Well, maybe not your eye. But it was one of those rare places that looked exactly like the pictures, maybe better, and it had the kind of aesthetic that screams âI need nothing from youâ while begging for a sense of purpose. You bought it almost instantly.
And now, after weeks of fine-tuning, sheâll be here soon. You catch yourself arranging the books on the side table, pausing over which titles to leave outâa mix of philosophy and modern fiction that says âI read but donât take it too seriously.â You laugh to yourself at the pretension of it, yet you leave the carefully selected titles exactly as they are.
Itâs silly, really, because the goal here is detachment, the freedom to keep things light and uncomplicated. You tell yourself that as you straighten the pillows on the sofa for the second time, catching your own eye in the polished mirror that hangs in the foyer.
âYouâre being weird,â you say out loud, imagining her walking in, that quick smile flashing, eyebrows raised in a way that says, âIs this all for me?â You picture her laughing, maybe rolling those pretty green eyes of hers. But you have an answer for that too, prepared in advance, a casual shrug.
âJust a little atmosphere,â youâll say, as if itâs nothing.
You check your watch. Thirty-two minutes until Alexia arrives. Thirty-two minutes to double-check that every single minutely considered, utterly detached detail says, I couldnât care lessâor, more precisely, I care in exactly the right amount of less. Because she needs to know that this is nothing. That this trip to an over-the-top chalet overlooking a town mostly inhabited by 19-year-olds in cashmere is simply an exercise in relaxation, togetherness, a concept youâre fairly sure youâre allergic to.
She doesnât know it yet, but you bought the place partly to show her. Partly to remind her, subtly, that she could disappear tomorrow and youâd still have this. Because thatâs the problem with Alexia, isnât it? Sheâs not really yours. Sheâs something you can enjoy, display even, but never own. The complete opposite of the real estate youâve added to your collection. You stand there, glass in hand, the Lagavulin youâve graciously poured yourself warming your fingers through the crystal, staring out at the Alps with the vague thought that an obscene number of people have had their ashes scattered here, somewhere along this ridgeline. Itâs an unsettling idea you rather enjoy.
She texts, something about a delay on the tarmac, and you stare at the message for a beat too long, analysing the exact wording like youâre looking for hidden subtext. As if there could be subtext in the word âdelayed.â
A casual fling, you remind yourself, should never be complicated by subtext.
To pass the time, you scan the kitchen once again. The coffee is fresh-ground, of course, from a bag that cost as much as an entire yearâs supply from anywhere normal. Itâs pre-portioned in tiny glass canisters your assistant found online that look like vintage apothecary jars. The labels are printed in Helvetica Neue because you once read that itâs a âsubtly superiorâ font. Ridiculous. But also, itâs perfect. Thereâs also a miniature mountain of imported Spanish oranges on the counter, carefully arranged in a hammered copper bowl you donât remember buying. You could make mimosas, you think, if you didnât know sheâll insist on starting with a protein shake instead.
You put a bottle of Alpine mineral water in the fridge just for her, chilled to the exact 4.4°C she prefers. Yes, itâs an oddly specific temperature preference. No, she didnât tell you directly. You overheard her mention it once, offhand, to someone else. Which is exactly why youâre bound to a polite indifference if she asks why itâs there. Itâs simply what the fridge was set to. Nothing personal.
Just the thought of her walking in has you adjusting your posture as if sheâs already watching. Alexia doesnât miss a single detail. Once, she commented on the way you have a tendency to pull your sleeves over your hands. You havenât done it since. Now, you check that every piece of clothing youâve chosen is deliberately, carelessly oversizedâbut only to the point that still reads as flattering.
Then, at last, you hear the crunch of tyres on gravel. You scurry to watch from the window as she steps out of the car you sent, and sheâs immediately caught in that glacial alpine light, her features so stark and defined that itâs almost cinematic. Thereâs a sharp thrillâone you wonât admit to yourselfâin seeing her here, framed against this scene like sheâs the final piece in some high-budget film. The coat sheâs wearing is slightly too large, lending her a relaxed, indifferent air, as if sheâd picked up the first thing she saw on her way out the door. Effortless, in that way that would feel studied on anyone else.
You stand back from the window just before she glances up, retreating into the comfort of shadows. Timing is everything. Youâve thought this through, down to each calculated second. Itâs critical, after all, that she finds you not watching, but instead lingering at a perfect remove, preferably with a slight air of distraction. Youâre aiming for a kind of aloofness, as if her arrival is the least interesting event of the day.
Sheâs about to ring the bell when you move, deliberately slow, to the door, letting it swing open just as she raises her hand. Thereâs a brief, barely perceptible pause as her eyes meet yours, a spark of something unspoken passing between you both before she raises an eyebrow, a look that hovers between amusement and challenge.
âMissed me?â she asks, dryly, though thereâs a glint in her eye that suggests sheâs perfectly aware of what sheâs doing. Sheâs close now, close enough that you can catch the faintest whiff of her perfume, something dark and woody and just the right side of familiar.
You tilt your head, giving her a slow once-over, and shrug. âNot especially,â you say, voice low, careful to keep the tone perfectly flat. But you let your gaze linger just a second too long on her collarbone, barely visible where her coat has slipped slightly, enough to make her catch it, her mouth curling up at the edge. Itâs a deliberate game, one youâve both played a hundred times, each move rehearsed, practised to the point of art.
Sheâs barely through the door when you feel itâthat unmistakable tension, thickening the air between you. Itâs almost tangible, a static hum just beneath the surface of polite conversation, something that pulls at you like gravity. The moment feels precarious, balanced on the edge of something youâre not quite willing to name, because if you wait too long, the feeling will settle into something more familiar. Something too close to comfort, which is the last thing you want.
She doesnât seem to notice it, of course, her mind likely on dinner plans or the slow crawl of the evening. You, however, are already teetering at the edge of patience, every nerve just slightly too aware of her. She walks in, drops her bag by the door with a casual grace that feels almost too natural, like sheâs done this a hundred times, like she could do this forever if you asked her to. And you wonder if youâd even want thatâsomething so predictably domestic, the quiet comfort of a routine. No. You want her in ways that defy that kind of simplicity, in a way that doesnât ask permission.
You watch her from the corner of your eye as she takes in the room. Her eyes linger on the minimal, curated details you agonised over: the leather-bound books you never plan to read, the art on the walls meant to suggest a taste for something more sophisticated than it is. Sheâs oblivious, seemingly caught up in the novelty of the place, and thatâs exactly what you intended. She canât know how meticulously you set the scene, how every pillow and chair is positioned with an almost obsessive precision. All she has to do is be here. Youâll take care of the rest.
Thereâs a slow, unhurried quality to her movements, an ease thatâs infuriating because itâs so at odds with the pulse of urgency rising in you. She wanders over to the fireplace, running her hand along the mantel with a soft, idle curiosity. Her fingers trace over the edge of a photograph you donât remember putting there, something abstract and distant, chosen for the way it says absolutely nothing about you. Itâs maddening, really, the way she lingers in the space, claiming it without meaning to, as if her very presence could overwrite the hours you spent constructing it.
âYouâve really outdone yourself,â she says, her voice light, unaware of the way it cuts through the silence with a sharpness thatâs almost physical. Thereâs a half-smile on her face, something unreadable that you canât quite shake off.
You shrug, adopting an air of disinterest youâve perfected over the years. âThought youâd appreciate the change of sceneryâ
She raises an eyebrow, still oblivious, her focus now on the bust of Venus of Arles by the window. For a second, you want to laugh at the madness of it, how sheâs here, right in front of you, while youâre clawing at the edges of your own restraint.
But sheâs still gazing around, her fingers brushing the edge of a table as if she has all the time in the world. As if she doesnât know what youâre holding back. You take a slow breath, exhale, feel the tension coil tighter inside, and think that if you let this linger for even another second, youâll start to resent the calmness of it, the quiet rhythm that feels too much like waiting. Like settling into something youâre not prepared to face.
âWine?â You ask in a futile attempt to keep things just this side of civilised. The offer hangs in the air, a thin layer of normalcy that feels like it could snap at any moment, but she only nods, glancing over with a slight smile, one corner of her mouth lifting in that way thatâs halfway between polite interest and something more.
âSure,â she says, her voice smooth, without a hint of awareness. âYou pickâ
You turn to the wine rack with an exaggerated casualness, scanning bottles you chose with this exact moment in mind. You could explain the notes of every vintage, how each one was picked not because it pairs with any particular foodâbecause letâs face it, dinnerâs not exactly on your mindâbut because it suggests a kind of sophistication, a subtlety. You choose a bottle of red, something full-bodied and just slightly bitter, almost as if in silent commentary on the situation. You pour, slowly, setting the glass down in front of her with a kind of precision thatâs both reverent and clinical. She reaches for it, her fingers grazing the stem, the gesture infuriatingly graceful.
The first sip seems to surprise her. âGood choice,â she murmurs, eyes meeting yours over the rim of the glass.
The silence stretches on just a moment too long, the air thick with something that isnât quite tension, more like a coiled spring just waiting for one of you to press down. You feel it building as she shifts, glancing around the room, and suddenly, you realise sheâs working up to something. Thereâs a certain deliberateness in the way she moves, a careful consideration in her stare, and you knowâknowâshe didnât come all this way just to admire the decor.
âLook,â she starts, her voice softer than usual, carrying a weight that tells you sheâs not talking about the view. âIâve been thinkingââ
But you canâtâwonâtâlet her finish. Not when you know exactly what sheâs about to say. You cut her off, leaning forward, your tone light, easy, deliberately dismissive. âPlease donât tell me you came all the way here just to talk, Alexiaâ
She freezes, mid-sentence, and thereâs a flash of something in her eyes, a blend of surprise andâannoyance, maybe? But she masks it quickly, her lips pressing into a tight line. âI thought youâd appreciate me being⊠honest,â she says slowly, as though testing the waters, watching you carefully.
âHonest? Thatâs what weâre calling it?â You let a smirk tug at the corner of your mouth, a practiced expression, something designed to be just detached enough to hold everything at armâs length. âCome on, weâre better than that, arenât we?â
She raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by your deflection, but thereâs still a hint of amusement in her eyes. âBetter than what? Talking?â
Talking. The word hangs in the air, innocent, innocuous, yet loaded in a way that feels heavier than it has any right to. You shift, taking another sip of wine, letting the liquid burn down, hoping itâll smother the way her eyes feel like they're peeling away all your practiced layers. Itâs one thing to enjoy someoneâs company, but the feeling creeping in now is something else, something youâre not used to. It feels inconvenient. Like an itch you canât reach.
You try to fire back, something witty, something cool, but the words catch in your throat, your mind scraping empty. Itâs frustrating, the way sheâs caught you off guard, how sheâs unraveled your carefully crafted reserve without even trying. You reach for your glass again, swirling the wine, stalling for time, anything to avoid that knowing look in her eyes.
But then it dawns on you, like a spark catching flameâthereâs still one thing left to do to regain control. Something you can do that would put you back in charge, bring this uncomfortable vulnerability back into something physical, where you excel. You set your glass down, slowly, purposefully, letting the silence stretch taut between you both.
She watches you with that smirk, that trace of challenge, as if daring you to break this moment of stillness.
âCome here,â you say, low and steady, injecting just enough command to leave no room for debate.
âNoâ
She says it so simply, so carelessly, that for a moment youâre almost convinced you misheard her. Itâs infuriating, really, that one little word has the power to throw you so entirely. Your pulse stumbles, and you feel the ground slipping from under you, just enough to catch you off guard.
âAlexia.â You give her a look thatâs intended to be definitive, final, but it lands with all the power of a weak threat. Her smirk widens into a full, infuriating smile, the one that says sheâs entirely aware of the effect sheâs having on you.
âJust hear me out,â she says, with a kind of softness thatâs more unnerving than youâd like. âYouâre doing that thing. The thing where you turn everything intoââ She pauses, gesturing vaguely with her hand, searching for the right word, ââinto some kind of performanceâ
Itâs an odd, unnerving feeling, this loss of footing. Normally, youâd have a witty reply ready, something cutting or clever, but instead, you feel like sheâs stripped you bare, left you standing there with nothing but honesty, and you hate it.
âSo now youâre the expert?â you reply, finally finding your voice, though it sounds sharper than you meant. âSince when do youââ
âSince I started actually falling for you,â she says, cutting you off, her voice low but clear. Itâs not even particularly dramatic, the way she says it, and somehow thatâs worse. Like sheâs not trying to turn it into anything, not expecting any kind of reactionâjust stating it as a fact.
You feel a flush rise to your face, and you mask it with another sip of wine, a hasty attempt to cover up the sudden jolt in your chest. She waits, just watches you with that maddening calm, as if giving you all the time in the world to come up with some kind of response.
The air between you feels thick, heavy with something unsaid and unfamiliar. You feel the urge to laugh, to make light of it, anything to disperse this feeling building between you, something dangerously close to vulnerability.
âYou donât have to make this into⊠whatever this is,â you say, gesturing between you. âLetâs not get sentimentalâ
âIâm not,â she says, crossing her arms, looking impossibly patient. âI told you Iâm just trying to be honest. I thought that was allowedâ
âHonest,â you repeat, as though the word itself is foreign. And maybe it is. Honesty has never been the thing you reach for. Honesty is for people who can afford to look foolish, who donât mind slipping, stumbling a little. Honesty is⊠unnecessary. And maybe thatâs exactly why itâs got you so rattled now.
You set your glass down, more forcefully than intended, and close the distance between you with a deliberate slowness, a silence that says everything you arenât willing to say out loud. She watches you, unmoving, waiting, that infuriating patience of hers still intact.
âFine,â you murmur, leaning in close, your voice barely above a whisper. âIf youre falling for me, fucking show meâ
Her lips quirk in the barest hint of a smile, a flicker of amusement mixed with something warmer, something that makes you feel like youâre the one being dissected here. Itâs maddening, really, how effortlessly she manages to get under your skin, slip past all those careful layers. And yet youâre already reaching for her, pulling her closer, desperate to change the pace, to turn this moment into something you can control.
Thereâs a split second where neither of you move, holding the charged silence like it might be the only thread of control left. And then it snaps. You reach for her, not gently, fingers curling around her wrist with enough force that she has no choice but to be pulled in. Her smirk flickers, only slightly, and thereâs something about the momentary surprise in her eyes that makes your grip tighten further, anchoring yourself as much as her. Itâs a flash of vulnerability that vanishes as quickly as it appears, leaving behind nothing but a thin layer of bravado, one youâre keen to shatter.
You pull her toward you, and the air shifts, that faint hint of uncertainty cracking into something far messier. Your hand finds its way to the back of her neck, fingers threading into her hair with a kind of reckless precision, not even aware of how tightly youâre holding on. You donât waste time; youâre not even sure thereâs time to waste. And as soon as you lean in, catching her mouth with a kiss thatâs anything but tentative, you feel her resistance melt, her lips parting under yours with a roughness thatâs almost defiant.
She meets you with equal force, as if each clash of mouths, each bruising press of skin, is a way to gain back her own control, and you revel in it, the give-and-take that feels as calculated as it is chaotic. Your hand slips to her jaw, holding her there, your thumb brushing over the corner of her mouth with a kind of ferocity that toes the line between possessive and desperate. You know itâs not going to be gentle; thereâs a part of you that doesnât want it to be.
Youâre moving backwards, feeling the edge of the marble island press into your spine, but it doesnât matter. Sheâs everywhere, her hands gripping the fabric of your shirt, blunt nails scraping against your skin as if sheâs staking a claim, as if sheâs finally caught on to the pace youâve been trying to set and decided to match it.
âIs this what you wanted?â Her words slip out like a slow, deliberate knife cutting through the air between you. The tone, sharp, unfamiliar, though has been the soundtrack to your late-night thoughts. Itâs almost as if she knows, like sheâs caught you in the act of something thatâs always been just below the surface. Her breath comes in shallow gasps, eyes darting between your face and the space between you two, as if trying to read the faintest tremor in your expression. Itâs always a game with her, always a step too far.
Yes.
âNo,â you manage, your voice betraying youâcracked, thin, like a lie too rehearsed. The words come out wrong, but they come out anyway, forced through a tightening chest.
The moment stretches, each second fracturing, bending and folding into itself. Itâs like trying to hold a conversation with a shadowâeverything slips just out of reach, and the harder you try to grasp it, the more it seems to twist away, leaving nothing but the sensation of your own breath hitching in your throat. You fucking hate this. You hate the way her fingers curl in the fabric of your shirt, as if trying to remind you of your place, of the expectations that have always followed you both like a silent, mocking echo.
No, you donât hate her.
Fuck. You love her.
The thought is an ugly, dissonant thing, a weight that doesnât settle easily, like a slow-moving tide pulling you under. The waterâs cold. You canât feel the bottom. You donât know which way is up, and the only thing you do know is that, somewhere along the line, youâve let yourself drown.
Your pulse is almost deafening in your ears, hammering in time with your desperate need for air. Thereâs something about the way she stands before youâstill and deliberate, eyes trained on yoursâthat makes the room feel smaller, closer. You think you can hear her thoughts. Feel them. Itâs maddening, how much she seems to know you, how sheâs always known the way you bend. How much sheâs learned to manipulate that bend, until you almost forget what itâs like to be anything but this: a response.
You swallow. The taste of her is lingering on your lips, sweet and bitter all at once, like a bad memory. How many times has this happened? You donât know anymore. The last time feels as far away as the first timeâwhen she leaned in, the weight of her body an invisible promise. But tonight, thereâs something different. Itâs in the way she watches you, cold, calculating, her fingers still gripping the edges of your shirt, the only real connection between you two in the moment.
She inhales slowly, the rhythm deliberate, like sheâs listening to a song you canât hear. The silence is suffocating.
âYouâre lying,â she says, low and accusing, with just enough venom to make you flinch. Thereâs a tiny smile that tugs at the corner of her mouth, something fleeting, something knowing. You want to reach out, to take her in your hands and pull her close, but the distance between you both feels like a universe. The space feels like a reflection of everything thatâs wrong with you: the empty conversations, the meaningless gestures, the ache thatâs always there, just beneath the skin. Itâs maddening, this tension.
And yetâŠ
You want her. Fuck, you need her. You donât know if itâs because you love her or because she knows how to make you feel more alive than anything else. Sheâs become your addiction, your fire, the only thing you canât quit.
Another shift in the air. Another breath from her, shallow and calculated. Itâs not a question anymore, not a challengeâitâs an affirmation. She knows, and you know, too.
You close your eyes for a moment, just long enough to lose yourself in the fleeting memory of something that almost felt like peace. The sound of her voice, the taste of her, the way she touched you. Itâs all a blur, a disjointed collection of moments tied together by one inescapable truth: youâll never be able to walk away.
Not this time.
When your eyes open again, sheâs still standing there, eyes not leaving yours, studying you. Everything feels slowed down, almost too slow. Like time is bending around her, twisting the seconds into something thick, sticky. Her gaze doesnât soften, but it holds you in place, an anchor, a force. The room is silent except for the faint hum of the refrigerator in the background, the dull tap of your own pulse in your ears.
You donât speak. Not yet. You donât need to.
Her fingers slide along your chest, trailing down in that same slow, infuriating pace, until they settle on the edge of your shirt again, the same place they started. She doesnât look away, her lips curving upward in a smile that doesnât reach her eyes.
Itâs like sheâs trying to decide whether you want to hurt her or fuck her. And the problem is, youâre not sure you can tell the difference anymore.
Your hands curl into fists at your sides, nails digging into your palms like that might keep you steady, like that might stop you from doing the one thing you swore you wouldnât.
Loving something. Someone. Loving Alexia.
âWhat are you so afraid of?â she murmurs, her voice low, almost gentle, and itâs the softness of it that makes you unravel completely.
You donât thinkâyou canât. One second youâre standing there trying to convince yourself you still have your palms wrapped around this situation, and the next theyâre on her, pulling her in with a force thatâs almost cruel. Your mouth finds hers, hard and unrelenting, and she gasps into the kiss, her fingers clutching at your shirt, wrinkling the silk, as if you might disappear if she doesnât hold on.
Itâs not a kiss. Not really. Itâs a collision, hard and unrelenting, her mouth crashing into yours with a force that feels like defiance, like sheâs daring you to stop pretending. To stop holding yourself together so tightly youâre liable to snap.
Your hands are already on her, pulling her close, so close it feels claustrophobic, but you canât stop. You canât make yourself pull away because then youâd have to look at her, really look at her, and confront the unbearable softness in her eyes. Youâd have to hear her voice again, saying the one thing youâve been trying to ignore since she first murmured it like a needle under your skin:
âWhat are you so afraid of?â
What youâre afraid of is this. Her. The way sheâs stripped you bare with no effort at all, no grand gestures or declarations. Sheâs unravelling you with the weight of her presence, with the simple fact of her being, and you hate it almost as much as you crave it.
Your teeth scrape against her lower lip, harder than you mean to, and she gasps, but she doesnât pull away. Her nails dig into your shoulders, gripping onto you while you take your rightful place at the helm of this godforsaken dance.
And sheâs letting you. Letting you press her against the edge of the table, her legs bumping into the thick, varnished oak. The table was handmade by some artisan you donât remember the name of, its surface polished to a high gloss that reflects the warm light overhead. Youâd spent weeks agonising over the purchase, debating wood grains and finishes with a level of scrutiny that felt absurd even at the time. Itâs the kind of thing people like you do when theyâre too scared to focus on what matters.
But now itâs just a table. A thing in the way, a thing thatâs caught between you and her.
Her jeans catch on the wood as you push her back, and the sound is sharp, cutting through the fog in your head. You hesitate for half a second, your hands hovering at her hips, fingers brushing the cool metal of her belt buckle.
âYouâre thinking too much,â she says, her voice low and breathless. Itâs not a reproachâitâs almost amused, like she knows exactly whatâs going on in your head, and itâs ridiculous to her that youâre trying to wrestle this into something itâs not.
âIâm not thinking at all,â you say, and itâs true. Or itâs a lie. You donât know anymore, and you donât care.
The belt comes undone with a soft clink, the leather sliding through the loops of her jeans in one smooth motion. You let it fall to the floor, the sound of it hitting the tile lost beneath the ragged breaths youâre both taking. Your hands are shaking slightly as you undo the button on her jeans, the metal cold against your fingertips.
She doesnât help you. Doesnât lift her hips, doesnât make it easier. She just watches you, her gaze steady and unwavering, like sheâs daring you to keep going.
And you do.
You yank the denim down her thighs, your movements jerky, almost frantic, and itâs not until the fabric crumples on the floor that you realise your hands are still trembling. She notices too, her lips twitching into that infuriating half-smile, the one that makes your stomach twist into knots.
âWhat are you doing?â she asks, her voice soft but edged with something sharper, something that cuts right through you.
âI donât know,â you admit, and the honesty of it feels like a blow to the chest.
âDonât stop,â she whispers, and the words make something inside you snap.
You hook your fingers into the waistband of her underwear, dragging them down her thighs in one swift, unceremonious motion. The damp lace clings for a moment before it slides free, pooling at her knees before hitting the floor. You donât stop to think. Thereâs no room for hesitation here, no space for the doubt thatâs been clawing at you since this started.
Her scent hits you first, heady and intoxicating, and for a moment you freeze, overwhelmed by the sheer weight of it. But then she movesâjust slightly, her hips tilting forward in an unspoken pleaâand itâs all the permission you need.
You press your mouth to her, your tongue sliding through her folds with a slow, deliberate pressure that pulls a broken sound from her throat. Her taste is sharp, almost sweet, and it floods your senses in a way that makes you dizzy. Her thighs close around your head instinctively, caging you in, and you let out a low, involuntary groan against her skin.
âFuckââ Her voice is high and breathy, her fingers digging into your scalp now, hard enough to sting. âDonât stop. Donâtââ
You donât. You press deeper, your tongue finding the sensitive bundle of nerves at her centre and circling it with a precision you didnât know you had. She jerks against you, her body arching off the table, and you use the opportunity to slide your hands up her thighs, holding her steady.
The table creaks beneath her, the sound of the wood groaning under her weight mixing with the wet, obscene noises of your mouth against her. Itâs filthy and raw, every sense overwhelmed, and youâre not sure if youâre doing this to prove a point or because you canât bear to stop. Maybe itâs both.
Her head tilts back, exposing the long, elegant line of her throat, and you want to mark it, to leave evidence of this all over her skin, but you canât pull away. Not when sheâs gasping your name, her voice breaking like she canât quite believe whatâs happening.
You slide a finger into her, slow at first, just enough to make her hips stutter against your mouth. Sheâs tight, impossibly so, and you feel her clench around you as you add a second finger, curling them just right. Her moan is loud, sharp, and it sends a bolt of heat straight through you.
âGod, youââ She doesnât finish the sentence, doesnât seem capable of forming words anymore, and it sends a twisted sense of satisfaction through you. You focus on her clit again, your tongue moving in quick, precise circles as your fingers work her open, the slick heat of her making it almost too easy.
Her legs tremble around you, and you can feel her getting closer, her breathing turning shallow and erratic. You donât let up, donât give her a second to recover, pressing her higher and higher until she breaks with a cry that sounds like your name.
Her whole body shudders, her thighs clamping tight around your head as she rides out her orgasm, and you keep going, drawing it out as long as you can until sheâs pushing weakly at your shoulders.
âEnough,â she gasps, her voice wrecked, and you finally pull back, your lips and chin wet with her.
You look up at her, and sheâs a messâher hair sticking to her damp forehead, her chest heaving with every ragged breath. Her eyes meet yours, dark and unreadable, and for a moment neither of you says anything.
Then, slowly, she reaches for you, her hands shaking as she grabs at your jumper and pulls you up to meet her. Her kiss is rough and desperate, her teeth catching on your lower lip, and you realise sheâs not done.
Her hands donât go for your own clothes like youâd expected. Instead, they move to your thighs, her grip firm and commanding, and before you can comprehend whatâs happening, sheâs lifting you. The sudden change knocks the air out of your lungs, and you gasp, your legs instinctively wrapping around her waist, locking you against her. The motion is seamless, like sheâs done this beforeâor like sheâs always known she could.
You try to tell yourself you hate how easy it feels, but you donât. You canât.
Your hands find her shoulders, her jaw, her hairâanything to ground yourself, but nothing works. Youâre still dizzy, still untethered, even as her lips crash against yours. Thereâs nothing gentle about it, nothing controlled. Her teeth scrape your bottom lip, her tongue pushes into your mouth like sheâs trying to devour you, and you let her because for once you donât want to think about what comes next.
Sheâs walking, you realise belatedly, the steady rhythm of her steps making your body rock against hers. Itâs disorienting, the way she carries you so easily, like your weight is nothing, like youâre the fragile thing here.
You kiss her harder to prove youâre not, nipping at her lip until she growls low in her throat, a sound that vibrates through you and pulls a small, involuntary moan from your lips. Her hands tighten on you, her fingers digging into the soft flesh of your thighs, and it sends a sharp thrill up your spine.
The hallway blurs around you, the world narrowing until itâs just herâher mouth on yours, her hands gripping you like sheâll never let go, her body impossibly solid against yours.
When she finally kicks the door open and lays you down on the bed, it feels like surrender. Not hers. Yours.
You donât realise how tightly youâve been clinging to her until she pulls back, your fingers still knotted in the collar of her shirt. The fabric wrinkles between your hands, and for a moment you just stare at each other, the room charged with something you donât have the words to name.
Her eyes are dark, searching, but thereâs no smugness, no trace of victory there. Instead, thereâs something softer, something that makes your chest ache in a way that has nothing to do with lust.
âIâve got you,â she murmurs, her voice low and steady, and it undoes you more than anything else sheâs done tonight.
Itâs too much. The weight of her words, the way she says them like a promise, like she means it. Your chest tightens, and you shake your head, your fingers releasing her collar to press against her shoulders, keeping her at a distance.
But she doesnât let you push her away completely. Her hands slide up your sides, gentle now, her touch a sharp contrast to the bruising grip she had on you moments ago. Sheâs watching you, waiting, like she knows exactly whatâs going through your head.
You hate her for it. You hate her because sheâs right.
âI canâtâŠâ Your voice cracks, barely audible, and you donât even know what youâre trying to say.
She leans in, her forehead resting against yours, her breath warm against your cheek. âYou donât have to,â she says simply, and the honesty in her tone is unbearable.
You want to argue, to fight, to push her away, but your body doesnât move. You just lay there, your chest heaving, your hands trembling against her. You feel like youâre teetering on the edge of something vast and unknowable, and for the first time in a long time, youâre not sure if youâll survive the fall.
Because this isnât about sex anymore.
Itâs about her, and the way she looks at you like youâre something worth holding onto. Itâs about the way your body feels like itâs breaking apart under the weight of it, like youâre finally being seen for what you areâwhat youâve always been.
A liar. A coward. Someone too afraid to let go, too afraid to feel, too afraid to love.
Her lips brush yours again, soft this time, barely there, and you let out a shaky breath. Itâs not enough to drown in. Not yet. But itâs close.
âLet me in,â she whispers, and itâs not a command. Itâs an offering.
You close your eyes, and for the first time, you donât resist.
Warnings: Basic writing first one back so be nice yeah
âI-I miss you, bo-both of youâ
You feel your heart break as you watch tears pool at the bottom of Alessiaâs eyes and theres nothing you or Leah can do about it over this stupid facetime call, but its not like Alessias only up the road, shes four hours away in Manchester, four hours away from a hug, a kiss a cuddle, a hand running through her hair telling her everything is going to be ok.
If this was any other night you would get in your car and drive those four hours to her, to hug her, kiss her, cuddle her, run your hand through her bright blonde hair and tell her its going to be ok but its not any other night, its the night before the new season, the night before you play Brighton at Meadow park.
Your heart hurts more and more as you watch the older girl wipe her red eyes with her (Leah's) jumper sleeve, sniffling and hiccuping still.
"We will see you soon love we promise."
Alessia knows thats the best the both of you can do but it still hurts, the distance still hurts.
"Don't hang up the phone please." You shake your head, "Never Less, we are on this end for as long as you need." Alessia nods softly her voice quite "Just until i fall asleep at least." Leah nodds "Of course Darlin as long as you need."
You fall asleep first, it happens every time, your head perched on Leah's chest so you could still see Alessia but the sound of the older pair talking in hushed voices always sends you to sleep sooner than you'd like, you've tried many times to stay awake for less's sake you say, but you can't, as soon as the hushed voices are brought in your out like a light.
"Go to sleep Darlin, you look exhausted.`' Alessia only hums at Leah's reguest her eyes fixated on you, she misses you, misses you falling asleep on her as she combs her fingers through your hair talking about the most random thing, she misses Leah too, she misses the way Leah entertains her random thoughts, how she always knows the right things to say, when she needs to be held and not let go of, or when she eventually does need to be let go of, she misses playing house with the two of you, misses lying around the house, running silly little errands, cooking dinner, movie nights, late mornings spent wrapped in bed together, the things she can only do during the short breaks the seasons allow.
"Don't hang up" Leah smiled softly at the younger girl "Never" Alessia nodds adjusting herself "Tell her I love her" Leah sighs her eyes flicking to you. "Trust me pretty girl, she knows." Alessia nods "But still." Leah agrees whispering a soft goodnight as Alessias eyes begin to shut.
International breaks were the best times for the three of you to get together, to be together happy in a relationship that wasnât miles apart.
None of you shared rooms Leah stayed with Georgia, Less with Tooney and you with Alex. The girls had their roommates by the time you got called up to the senior squad, you being a couple years younger then Less and so even though you had all been together a couple of months you didnât want to disrupt their camp routines and instead stayed with Alex, the older girl being sure to look after you at every opportunity.
Still during down time your teammates could find the three of you stuck together, either in the chill room, squished on someoneâs bed asleep as a movie played in the background or wandering the grounds. These camps were no different and as you headed to your second last camp of the year you prepared to be joint at the hip with your blondies.
Only Less didnât seek you or Leah out on your arrival like she normally did and when you found her she simply gave you a hug and a quick kiss before wandering off with her United girls.
As the days passed during the international camp, your heart ached with growing concern. Alessia's usual bubbly energy seemed subdued, her laughter replaced by a quiet melancholy. Leah noticed it too, her worried glances mirroring your own.
"Are you okay?" Leah asked one evening as you sat together in the team's lounge.
You shrugged. "I guess. It's just... why won't she talk to us."
Leah knew what you meant. The season was ramping up, and the pressure was on. But she also knew that something else was bothering you.
"I don't know love, maybe theres things happening with Marc that she just doesn't want to talk to us about yet, but she'll come when shes ready ok."
You hesitated. "hmm. I don't know. I'm worried about her Le."
Leah reached out and took your hand. "It's okay to be worried but Less knows we're here."
You sighed. "I just miss her. And I'm worried about her. She's been working really hard, and I know she's stressed."
Leah nodded. "I understand. I do. I feel the the same way."
You flop your head on to Leah's shoulder "I love you."
Leah kissed your fair squeezing you tightly âI love you too, she does too darling sheâs just having a hard time showing it.â
The international break was supposed to be a respite, a chance for the three of you to reconnect and recharge. But the weight of distance and unspoken worries hung heavy in the air. Alessia's usual vibrant spirit was dimmed, replaced by a quiet melancholy that worried you and Leah.
The following day, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Alessia was still distant, her smiles forced and her laughter absent. During a training session, you caught her staring into space, a far-off look in her eyes.
After practice, you approached her cautiously. "Less, can we talk?"
She nodded, her voice barely a whisper. "What."
You found a quiet corner of the training ground, the two of you sitting side by side. "What's wrong, love? You've been off."
Alessia hesitated, her eyes darting away, but her voice harsh and cold. "It's nothing. Just a lot going on."
You knew that wasn't the whole truth. "Is it Marc? Something with the team?"
Alessia turns snapping immediately "It's none of your business!" You flinch at her harshness, Leah placing a hand on your back rubbing gentle circles trying to calm you. "I'm fine okay? Just leave me alone." She stands up and walks off, leaving you and Leah stunned.
"Less, please," Leah interjected, her voice gentle but firm. "We're just worried about you."
Alessia scoffed. "Worried? You? You're worried about me? You're worried about your own careers, your own lives. You don't care about me."
Your heart sank. You knew that wasn't true, but you couldn't argue with her. She was hurting, and she was lashing out.
"I'm sorry, Less," you managed to say, your voice barely a whisper. "We just want to help."
Alessia stood up abruptly, her eyes filled with tears. "Just leave me alone."
She turned and walked away, leaving you and Leah stunned and heartbroken.
The silence between you and Leah was heavy, the weight of Alessia's words hanging in the air. You both knew she was hurting, but her words had cut deep.
"I don't understand," Leah murmured, her voice filled with confusion. "We're trying to help her."
You sighed, running a hand through your hair. "I know, but she's shutting us out."
"Maybe she just needs some space," Leah suggested, though her voice lacked conviction.
Alex watched you return heartbroken. "SheâŠsomething is really wrong Ale, IâŠwe don't know what to do." Alex lay with you as you racked your brain for every possible reason, tears streaming down your face as your heart broke for the younger blond.
You don't remeber falling asleep but you wake up tucked into Alex's bed, the older girl up and getting ready for the day. "Hey sleepy, I thought i'd let you sleep longer, but we should head for breakfast before I get a warning." You groaned rolling out of the bed you already hated today.
The weight of Alessia's words still hung heavy in the air, as you entered the foodhall. You and Leah exchanged worried glances, unsure of how to approach her. The tension between you was palpable, a stark contrast to the usual camaraderie you shared.
After training, you decided to take a chance. You found Alessia sitting alone on a bench, her gaze fixed on the field. You hesitated, unsure of how she would react.
"Less," you began, your voice soft. "Can we talk?"
She turned to you, her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and sadness. "What do you want?"
You took a deep breath. "I just want to understand. What's going on?"
Alessia stood up abruptly. "There's nothing to understand. I'm fine."
You reached out to her, but she pulled away. "Don't touch me," she said coldly.
Your heart ached. You knew she was hurting, but she was pushing everyone away.
"Less, please," you interjected, your voice gentle. "We're just worried about you."
By now half the team was watching you both as Leah stepped forward ready to mediate you both.
Alessia scoffed. "Why don't you go worry about your new girlfriend, was two not enough for you, you have to whore yourself out to Alex too."
The air crackled with tension as Alessia's words hung heavy in the air. You felt a wave of shock wash over you, followed by a deep hurt. You loved Alessia, and you knew she loved you back, but her words were like daggers, cutting deep into your heart.
"Hey, you better step the fuck down Alessia that is no way to speak to her no matter how hurt you are, Y/n's just trying to make sure your ok."
Alessia huffed "Like hell she is, to busy cuddling up to Alex, and stringin you along too, pathetic."
Your heart shattered into a million pieces. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. You had always been honest with Alessia, with both of them. You loved them both, and you had never hidden that fact. But now, in her pain, she was accusing you of something you hadn't done.
"Alessia," you began, your voice barely a whisper. "That's not fair. You know that's not true."
But she wouldn't listen. She continued to lash out, her words cutting deeper with each passing moment. You felt a wave of despair wash over you. You had tried to help her, to understand her, but she was pushing you away.
"Oh, really? Then explain why you're always with her, why you're always cuddling up to her. You're just using me, using us both."
Your heart ached as you tried to explain, but your words were lost in the storm of Alessia's accusations. You felt helpless, trapped in a nightmare that you couldn't wake up from.
"Just leave me alone," Alessia finally said, her voice filled with anger and despair. "I don't want to see you anymore."
In the end, you turned and walked away, tears brimming your eyes as you will them not to fall. She doesn't mean it, she doesn't mean it.
You feel numb, You know shes hurting, that shes hiding something from you, but you never thought she would be so mean, shouting at you infront of your friends/teamates, accusing you of wanting to get with Alex.
"I can't believe she said that," you finally managed to say, your voice barely a whisper.Â
Leah stands against the wall in your room, her eyes scan your everymove waiting for you to break.
"It's not true."
Leah crouched down putting a comforting hand on your knee. "I know, love. It's not true."
"Will you go check on her please Le." Leahs eyes softened nodding "You sure."
You nod squeezing her hand, "Please baby she needs you, I'm ok"
Leah found Less in the rec room her head in her hands as Tooney talked to her quietly.
"Less," Leah began, her voice gentle, Alessia shot up throwing her self at the defender, Leah held her tight rubbing soft circles on her back. "I know you're hurting, but what you said to Y/n was unfair."
Alessia's eyes filled with tears. "I know, I know. I didn't mean it. I'm just so messed up right now."
Leah sat down beside her, her hand resting on Alessia's. "What's going on? Is there something you're not telling us?"
Alessia hesitated, her eyes darting away. "He won't let me leave Leah, I want to leave but Marc he..."
Alessia's voice trailed off, her eyes filled with fear and despair. Leah's heart sank. She knew Marc, the Manchester United manager, was a demanding figure, but she hadn't imagined anything like this.
"Oh, darling," Leah said, pulling Alessia into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry."
Alessia sobbed into Leah's shoulder, her body shaking with emotion. Leah held her tightly, offering comfort and support.
"We'll figure this out," Leah assured her. "We'll get you out of there."
After a while, Alessia calmed down, her sobs subsiding into quiet sniffles. She looked up at Leah, her eyes red and swollen.
"I don't know what to do," she whispered.
Leah sighed, pulling Alessia into another hug. "We'll figure it out together," she promised.
Alessia nodded, "I...I was so mean to her."
Leah nodded "You were, shes upset and hurt but you are too and she knows that"
"I'm going to go check on her." Alessia said gently pulling away from Leah.
Less found you sitting on the edge of your bed, your eyes red and puffy. You looked up as Less entered the room, quickly wipping your eyes.
"Hey" Y/n asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Alessia walked over to you and sat down beside you, taking your hand.Â
"Hey," Alessia replied, her voice soft. "I'm so sorry."
Her voice filled with remorse. "what I said was horrible, I was horrible."
You looked at her, your heart softening. "It's okay, Less. I know you didn't mean it."
Alessia shook her head. "No, I did. I was so selfish and angry. I took it out on you, and I hurt you."
You reached out and pulled her into a hug. "It's okay," you said softly.Â
The dam broke then as Alessia sobbed as you wrapped your arms around her tightly. "It's ok, we are ok."
Alessia hesitated, then took a deep breath. "It's Marc," she said, her voice barely audible. " He won't let me leave. i want to leave United, I want to move closer to you, to Leah. But i can't "
Your heart sank. You knew Marc was a tough manager, but you had no idea he was a straight up asshole.
Alessia sobbed into your shoulder. "I know. I'm so sorry for taking it out on you."
You held her tightly, trying to offer comfort. "It's okay. I understand."
After a while, Alessia pulled away. "I need to leave," she said. "I need to get out of there."
You nodded "You will, we will get you out of there, I'll get on to Luca, I..I'll talk to Jonas, Leah will to, we will get you out of there."
Less fell asleep a short while later head tucked into the crook of your neck.
Leah opened the door slowly scared to wake you but surprised to see you wide awake your hands softly combing through the younger blonded hair.
"Sorted?" Leah asked quietly, You smiled softly opening your other arm inviting her to join.
"not yet but it will be, we'll get her out won't we." Leah nodded kissing below your chin before kissing Lesses head "Of course we will."
"You ok though." Leah asked shuffling to lie down more comfortably with you both.
"I knew she never meant it, doesn't mean it didn't hurt but as long as you both know im not a slag i'll be ok."
Leah let out a soft laugh "You a slag, the girl who couldn't talk to either of us without stuttering, I think your safe."
"Good" you let out barley above a whisper as your eyes began to drop.
"Go to sleep love, we'll be here when you wake up."
