One, Extremely Infuriating Thing

So, my dad has admitted to being an alcoholic. But he has no issues with displaying it, not running from it, not attributing it to past experiences. He’s just a fucking alcoholic. And I’m conflicted, cause part of my thinks “at least he does his own thing”, but the other part of me thinks, “he resolved his fucking issues; why does he get “pain and suffering” when in reality at this point he just feels like ignoring anything that doesn’t feel good? Is this what it feels like to be the son of a Baby Boomer? He feels bad and drinks away his life because his life ISN’T perfect, meanwhile I’ve been seriously depressed for almost 10 years now, and feel guilty and enabling to anybody because I have real issues?

It’s fuckin weird, but the moment anybody I care about (even remotely) needs my help, I pull out of my bullshit and suddenly have this sense of “if you fuck with any of them, you’ll have to deal with my wrath”. I’m not sure why, but I care about the organisms inside my circle (and it’s bigger than you think) more than I care about my own self. I don’t believe in an afterlife, but I’m willing to sacrifice my future for everyone else’s. Does that make me selfish? That I would rather spare even the pieces of shit in my life than let them face the absolute certainty of what “Hell on Earth” can consist of?

Right When You Think You’re Okay Again.

You ever just have those times when you feel like, once you’ve gotten better, you realize it’s just the top of the wave? And there’s nowhere to go but down from there? I love Tacoma, and I love Washington. But I can’t help but think that I’m meant to go somewhere else. I spend 70% of my time here depressed, trying to find true connection and true love in people that aren’t even capable of loving themselves. I continue to blame myself, but is it even me? Or is it what society in this area points us out to be? The moment I feel like having a gun (for protection, due to where I live) is a good idea, then the other side of me feels like maybe I shouldn’t have one. I feel unequivocally drawn to the south, but here represents my ideals. I want to move to New Orleans, or Houston, or Austin; but that small part tells me that regardless of where you go, you’ll still be powerless to do anything. And my biggest fear these days, is just living an insignificant life. If I’m going to do that, just kill me now.

It’s also a census year. Which means state legislatures are going to be redrawing their districts.

Thanks to the magic of gerrymandering, whoever’s in charge of the state during redistricting has a ton of power.

Republicans focusing on taking control of state legislatures because people don’t pay attention to them and gerrymandering to give themselves the advantage is a major part of what got us where we are now.

So if you can, pay attention to state legislature races and vote down the ticket. The districts are often small and races are often decided by a couple hundred or even a few dozen votes, so in a lot of cases it can be totally doable to flip a seat.

This was a social media space where I could be myself, where I could be introverted and yell into the void about my depression and my anxiety and no one would tell me to shut up like on other social media sites.

Absolutely the same! When I was depressed, this place gave me likeminded souls that helped me out, instead of being judgemental. It’s allowed me to follow people and see just how similar their lives may be to mine, even though we don’t really know each other at all.

i know a lot of people like myself find relief in listening to depressing music when they’re already depressed but it’s such a gamble. like you never know if it’s going to comfort you or make you feel worse. that’s kind of why i started making myself listen to upbeat music when i was starting to feel bad instead. overall, it made it much easier to pull myself from an episode or prevent myself from going too low if i caught it early enough.

i decided to see how far that could go so i started just listening to pretty, upbeat music in the morning and whenever i was by myself. it’s really, really helped a lot. obviously i’ll always have mood swings and depressive episodes but overall, i’ve found myself just functioning better. simple self care is much easier. i don’t feel so out of touch with everyone around me as often. it’s just really really nice.

Those NOMAP blogs are just a meme and a front for something much darker, something much more sinister going on Tumblr.

There are real pedophiles sharing our space with with us. Sharing real images and videos of children being abused.

I was unfortunate enough to stumble on these pedophile blogs where they mostly share photos of young girls in swimsuits but then it gets more disturbing. I seen girls being sexually abused who couldn’t have been older than 4. Some of these images had over 10,000 notes.The captions on these were just as shocking. Some of these people were asking to exchange their own god damn children. YES. THESE PEOPLE HAVE CHILDREN. I cried hard that night. I found a website where I could report a these blogs and they were then passed onto law enforcement but these images will always be online. This was well over a month ago I seen these and I’m still traumatised.

WE ARE SHARING A WEBSITE WITH PEDOPHILES WHO HAVE CHILDREN AND TUMBLR IS NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE.

I can’t keep silent any more. We need to do something guys.

I’ve written a template letter that we can all send to the tumblr staff via email and get the message going: ([email protected])

It has come to your users’ attention that there is an extremely serious matter going on, one that seems to be going ignored. There is a whole entire community of pedophiles being allowed to make and distribute child pornography right here on Tumblr. Some of these images and videos have over 10,000 notes on them which is a staggeringly shocking number. These sick individuals are allowed to interact with one another, even willing to exchange their own children. We, as dedicated users of Tumblr, are deeply troubled by how this is being allowed to happen. I would really like to ask Yahoo, Oath Inc. and Verizon Communications in particular, as the owners of a multi million dollar company, what steps their company is taking in order to tackle this and to protect young children?
