“That’s my job too! I’ll get this one out of your hands – now, the engravings and the sort of stone used point to a roman origin, possibly second century” possibly, it’s definetly from that period, he was just being polite. ”I’d say made in the iberian peninsula. Not a lot of curses in roman artifacts, so I think I can just.” in one quick movement, he opened the lid. “It’s empty.” deflating, he pouts and closes the lid.
Teresa considers arguing but he’s right, it is his job and there’s no harm in him helping when the pile of unidentified artifacts only seems to grow rather then shrink. So she turns back to her own work and allows his words to fall into the background, his knowledge never fails to impress or humble, even an immortal. The word ‘curse’ among his ramblings catches her attention but she’s too late and can’t tell whether she’s disappointed or relieved that it’s empty, “Better empty than a curse I suppose but that does make me wonder why it’s here.”
the biggest difference between teresa in her main verse and the golden trio era, is her confidence. in both verses she has no issue standing up for herself but she truly comes into her own when she goes travelling so when the war interrupts that, her growth is stunted and she feels better by herself or in the shadows

His hand stopped a few inches from the box, fingers curling in temptation. “Why?” he asked, not moving an inch.
“I haven’t had the chance to identify it yet or properly catalog. So at this stage, treat it as if it belonged to Pandora.”
storytelers:
“My beliefs stem from what I see. Prove me wrong and I’ll tell the next person who walks through that door that you have never seen a book in your life.” it was everything. the war of the past few years had been the worst she had ever seen, and this new spirit running through the world was a welcome change. “Do I need a reason?”
Teresa opens her mouth to argue but has to close it when she realises that Antonia has a point, “Maybe I have been spending more time than usual back here,” she wasn’t going to admit that it was easier to be with the books then face everything that was happening, “I suppose dancing just because is as good as any reason.”
All of the 'muggles' section from the wizarding world questions for Teresa //Sorry these are coming a little late, but they're coming ;D
WIZARDING WORLD QUESTIONS
I’m gonna answer this in terms of Teresa’s main verse and then the golden trio era au since those are the main verses I interact with her in.
What is your character’s opinion of Muggles?
So Teresa lived before the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy was introduced meaning her parents were used to helping neighbours and townsfolk with little acts of magic but as she got older witch trials were becoming more commonplace throughout Europe so there were understandable tensions but although she hated having to hide her magic she was only wary of muggles believing you couldn’t judge them all for the actions of some. She did have a close call during her time in Trier but was able to use her magic to escape, she feels a little guilty about proving magic. Similarly, in a modern verse, she has no hatred of muggles or muggle-borns plus plays fast and loose with the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
Does your character look down on Muggle-borns?
No, in fact, she relates to muggle-borns in the sense that they have seven years to learn magic that purebloods/half-bloods have been around their entire life while she had to make a path of her own with little guidance when learning magic without her hearing.
Would your character ever use the phrase ‘Mudblood’?
Nope. Never.
Is your character familiar with Muggle technologies, customs, or money?
In all verses, she started to become accustomed during her time travelling, although she never quite adopted muggle customs often coming across as weird or eccentric to people who she met, she became quite used to how their money works.
What is your character’s blood status?
She’s a pureblood and comes from a quite an old family even in her main verse from the 16th century. Although most people in countries outside of Spain or France won’t be familiar with her family unless they spend a lot of time keeping track of pureblood families.
Has your character ever watched TV or gone to the movies?
In the golden trio verse, during her travels, although a lot of money went to food, lodgings or small gifs to send back home she did often save up to experience muggle life as much as she could.
OPEN STARTER
Teresa is up early humming to herself as she potters around in the shop, sorting out the new delivery of sweet-smelling flowers, she doesn’t sell them but they are nice to have around. The air coming through one of the windows is crisp and cold, and even if she misses the sun from home she feels at peace.
It doesn’t last too long unfortunately as soon enough the lights through the shop flicker to alert her to someone coming through the door. She turns around with a smile, “What can I help you with today?”

name: nuru jalang'o / birthdate: 11th march 1564 / height: 5′5″ / weight: 113 lbs. / hair: brown / eyes: brown / religion: unknown / hometown: mombasa, kenya / current residence: the vourora institute / blood-status: half-blood / magical education: graduate of uagadou school of magic / occupation: deputy-headmaster, professor of alchemy and transfiguration
Nuru was born in Kenya, to a witch and her muggle husband, she is the youngest child of three, with two older brothers. During her time at Uagadou, she became skilled at Alchemy dedicating a lot of her time to researching Nicolas Flamel in order to recreate his elixir of life and became an animagus with the ability to transform into a lion. Unfortunately, she lost the hearing in her right ear and gained multiple scars after an explosion during one of her alchemy experiments.
Upon graduation, she kept the coin that allowed her to travel to Uagadou on her person due to school’s belief that learning is a lifelong endeavour and all graduates should be allowed to return when they want to. A year later she met Teresa, Jayne and Vincent who had been travelling for three years, immediately bonding with Teresa, she decided to travel with the trio. Within six months Greer joined their group and they were all working towards creating a new form of magic that did not require speech or words.

proditeur:
“Why would you not?”
Okay—it wasn’t a perfect rebuttal; or even a good one. But there was an advantage in seeing the world for what it was, he thought, rather than hoping for the world to be better when there was very little reason for it to be.
Later in life he would come to reconsider his cynicism, but never would Regulus Black turn away from his belief in the real.
“No person wants terrible things to happen, but they’ll happen whether or not you expect them to. Isn’t it better to prepare yourself instead of… thinking tomorrow will be wonderful and waking up to disaster?”
Though she may not want to admit it, she knows that Regulus has a point, the world has proven itself time and time again to be a place where awful things happen. Yet despite all that she has seen, she can't help but hold out hope that in the end everything will work out. "When you prepare yourself for something to terrible to happen, it may save you from disappoint but it also means you give up, you no longer try. I don't just want to believe in happy endings, I want to help them happen."
she is of art and curiosity. satisfaction brings her back

“Don’t open that box,” Teresa called out, trying to raise a level of warning in her voice so that Flynn would actually listen to her, only looking up from her record book to check whether he had taken a step closer or further way. She had yet to finish checking all the items and the last thing she needed was for an unknown magic to be released.
