She had been minding her own business, thoughts elsewhere as she thought of the mission she’d taken part of weeks ago. It was deemed a success, but.. She rubbed her arms, feeling a shiver race down her spine. They had gone to scout for any signs of queen bee, and discovered a tomb. She had accidentally touched a staff that held some mystic gem in it–and somehow it triggered some odd illusion.. or vision, whatever the hell it was it had felt incredibly real. It spoke of an ominous future, one that held both great possibilities and dangerous endings.. Kaldur had been with her, had seen the visions. She wondered if perhaps it was because they had both touched it-had been connected, that she’d seen that. It’d been more then just a vision of them together; but a future.. There was also the threats and dangers that they faced in the vision-between attacks to atlantia and mystic realms–uncovering she had an ancestor that was Atlantean. And since then she’s been avoiding him, unable to really look him in the eye, let alone know what he could be thinking. Sudden hands grabbed her, tugging her up towards a very solid chest. She gasped, ❝ Wha– ❞ Startled, blue-grey eyes flash to see the sea-green hues of Kaldur. Huh? Her chin rested to his shoulder as he held her close, folding his arms behind the small of her back. She could feel her face warm and her heart stammering loudly against her chest. ❝ My Apologies Zatanna.. ❞ He started in a soft voice against her hair, ❝ I didn’t know how else to hold your attention without you running off.. ❞ Yep. She was blushing. Idiot. Still, she offered a sheepish smile against his arm. ❝ Well, you have my attention.. ❞ He chuckled, loosening his hold to better face her. He smiled, ❝ Zatanna.. Were still friends aren’t we? ❞ ❝ Of course! ❞ She nodded, then lowered her gaze. ❝ Sorry if my avoiding you.. hurt you Kaldur its just.. It was all weird, and I.. I just was processing I guess. But of course your still my friend. Also try calling me ‘Zee’ sometimes. ❞ She smiled, hoping to sound sincere. She did value his friendship after all, and with his relieved smile, she hoped they could get over this awkward.. whatever this is. ❝ I’ll remember that. ❞ He smiled, blinking when she frowned. With a more sheepish smile he added,❝ Zee. ❞ ❝ It’s a start. ❞ She mused, drawing away from his hold. It was almost a shame, he felt pretty warm.
