Will you marry me? JAKEXMC
It comes to M/C’s attention that Jake has completely forgotten about hers and Jake’s three year anniversary.
When they return to La Huerta, and reunite with the gang- will all be as it appeared to be?
Today is mine and Jake’s three year anniversary, but it seems as though he has failed to realise.
He’s carrying on like it’s another normal day, I must admit it hurts- that I was the only one who remembered this day.
I was in the kitchen, prepping some waffles with strawberries on the side when I felt Jake’s hands wrap around my waist, as his breath traveled down my neck- sending chills up my spine.
“Hey there, beautiful.” He stretches over to plant a tender kiss on my cheek.
“Is there anything you’re forgetting today?” I ask, trying to ring some bells.
He went deep into thought before answering my question bluntly, “Not that I know of.”
I sigh to myself, “Oh... okay then.”
It annoyed me, that he didn’t remember, he had remembered every other year and now it all changes out of the blue?
I didn’t want to believe it but I did.
He had completely forgotten about our anniversary, I had reminded him last week and every week before that.
He promised he wouldn’t forget.
“What’s wrong?” His deep blue eyes scanned my face.
“Nothing... I just, forgot to buy maple syrup for my waffles.” I lied, I didn’t want to lie to him, I had never lied to him before- but I didn’t want to make him feel guilty for not remembering.
He looked at me strangely, finding it hard to believe my statement, but carried on afterwards.
“Well in that case,” He eased me into a passionate kiss before pulling away shortly after, “I’ll go have a shower right now- just for you - and fetch you that maple syrup.”
I watched Jake close the door behind him, then I ran into our bedroom and instantly dialed Michelle’s number, and she picked up just as quick.
“Hey babe!” She said excitedly over the phone.
“Hey, Meech.” I said with a sorrowful tone.
“What’s wrong?” She responded, starting to sound concerned.
“Can you come over in the next half hour?” I replied, “I need someone to talk to.”
“Of course! I’ll go get ready now, I’ll buy chocolate and ice-cream and bring some good movies and we can grieve over whatever’s upset you together!” Michelle hung up soon after.
Jake popped through the door, a towel wrapped around his waist, there was water trickling down the ends of his hair and dripping onto his face, though it didn’t seem to faze him.
Augh, could it get any harder to remain disappointed at such a perfect man?
“I’m gonna get changed then I’ll duck out.” He spoke flatly, with a small grin. “I love you, princess.”
I let out a convincing smile, “I love you too, top gun.”
He shortly got on some clothes, and headed out the door with a final kiss, running into Michelle on his way out, he greeted her then drove away.
Michelle entered, lightly closing the door behind her with her feet due to her hands full off movies, ice-cream and chocolate- as promised.
Me and Michelle settled in mine and Jake’s bedroom.
“So what happened that made my best friend upset?” Michelle snapped, “Did Craig push you into the pool again? I’ll kill him with my scalpels!”
“No- that’s not the case, Michelle.” I eased her down after she attempted to pull out her phone and dial Craig’s number. “There are much worse things at matter.”
“Can I kill Craig anyway?” Michelle folded her arms, waiting for my permission.
“Maybe after we’ve dealt with the more important matters...” I sigh.
“Tell me everything.” Michelle made herself comfortable, opened up the box of ice cream, handed me a soon and gazed at me waiting for me to spill the deets.
I told her the short story of what had occurred this morning.
“No. Way.” Michelle said fiercely, “Craig’s death can wait, Jake is in for it now...”
“Hang on, I’m getting a call from Diego.” I interrupted, I answered the phone and put it on loud speaker for Michelle to hear.
“Hey M/C! You’ll never guess what your about to hear.” He piped up.
“Do tell..” I said intrigued.
“Aleister is paying for the ENTIRE gang to fly to La Huerta so I can visit Varyyn!” He cheered over the phone. “Everyone’s going to be there, you should come!”
“OMG REALLY?!” Michelle screamed of excitement.
“Oh hey Michelle!” Diego responded, “You should all start packing we leave at 1pm on Aleisters private jet! Make sure to tell your lover boy Mckenzie that he’s coming too!”
Michelle gave me a dirty glare, the ‘Don’t you dare bring Jake on this trip.’ kind of look.
I exhaled sharply, “He’ll be there.”
Michelle’s palm collided with her face and she mouthed ‘wrong move.’
“Well I’ll see you guys in a few hours.” Diego responded then ended the call after we said our goodbyes.
“I can’t believe you’re actually going to invite him along.”
“...maybe he’ll remember.” I add, trying to find what hope I had left.
“Sure, and my name isn’t Michelle.” She rolled her eyes, “Let’s get packing, I guess.”
