Margot took two deep breaths, letting her agitation and anger leave her body from the confrontation she just had. “It’s fine, I’m fine.” Margot commented, “Not something I haven’t been through before, just hate it when disgruntled Quidditch players hunt me down and critique what I said about them on the pitch very loudly in public settings. I’m not sure what they aim to achieve with it.”

“Yeah uh– maybe we should’ve chosen someplace else,” he chuckled, looking at his sister as she poked at the dish in front of her. “Or do you think it’s worth asking the staff here if they should maybe give us something else? I’m not good at complaining about this sort of stuff but perhaps asking them politely will be in our favor?” Bentley suggested.

“It looked good from the outside, neon signs, cute pictures of cartoon waffles. It’s done us dirty.” Margot told the other with a pout. “Yeah I hate the idea of sending food back to the kitchen, I feel like I should just grin and bear it. That or at least try it to see if it’s as bad as it looks or surprisingly delicious.”

“I imagine she wouldn’t be coming around for a visit.” It was a show of appreciation both of him and his own art. They weren’t close at all other than on a business level where Orlando probably fed her need to be noticed. She was a sweet enough old lady though. “Hardly a brag, simply pointing out what I believe to be the obvious. And you know you’re always welcome but you’ve never been the type to want to live with me. If anything, you want to get away.” Orlando pointed out with a chuckle, not offended in the least. Margot had just always been very independent.

“Of course it was a she.” Margot commented, trying her best not to roll her eyes at the thought of one of her brothers fans sending him some sort of extravagant gift. “I have my own place and I happen to be very happy with it. I mean, something tells me our decor would clash terribly and Anakin would probably scratch up something expensive.” She told the other, sticking her tongue out at the other in a childish manner.

“I think it’d be rather rude of me if I didn’t, wouldn’t it?” Orlando pointed out, running his fingers over the cool material. Patting it lightly before stepping away to face his sister. “And it’s not as though I don’t have plenty of space here.” He’d bought a sizeable place of living after all. Still, he chuckled a little at her forthright comment. “Well at least I know what not to buy you in the future.” He joked.

“Depends on how often the person who gifted you it is going to come round a visit. If it’s not very often then I think you can get away with not having it displayed and it not coming off as rude. What they don’t know won’t hurt them, right?” She told her brother with a small shrug. “Brag much.” She chuckled, looking around her brothers new sizable living space. “Pretty sure you could fit us all in here and still have room for guests, but yes, I appreciate you not buying me marble statues of myself in the future thanks. It’ll be a waste of money for you.”

After taking a couple of sips of his coffee, Oliver looked at down at the beverage and frowned. It certainly didn’t taste as good as before and he was confused for a moment, wondering if he came to the right place. He looked around, but everything seemed the same. “How is it that within a couple of months of my absence this coffee now tastes like phlegm?” He muttered out loud.

Margot scrunched her nose up at the others description of his drink, looking at her own with a wary stare. “Thanks for that imagery, just what I needed before drinking a grande caramel latte.” She commented, pushing the cup away from her slightly. “Have you ever considered that fact that it’s not the coffee, but it’s you and your taste has changed?”

“You’re going to display it?” Margot asked her brother, trying to bite her lip to keep her opinions to herself. “I mean, I get that you need to redecorate since moving back, but that seems more like a garden piece if you ask me. Or a garbage piece.”

I was far away actually. “You know, I’m pretty sure that’s what a lot of people say when it comes to me.” She couldn’t help but tease slightly, trying to make the moment lighter given the events they were surrounded by. “Of course, I get it. I was lucky enough to be far away and with people I care about, but Bentley was stuck in muggle London and Tristan seemed to be in the fray of it. It’ll never not be scary.” She pulled out a spoon and gave the other a look, “Erm of course, you didn’t think I was going to let you have it all to yourself now, did you?”

You’ve discovered the balance of lying to them just the right amount so that you won’t be hated but also won’t seem like some person trying to fool them with everything you say– it’s a tricky line to walk,” he chuckled. “Maybe let me take the lead? I have experience.” And they didn’t hate him yet, at least he didn’t think so anyway. “Right? I feel like we’d have to buy a plushie or something to commemorate how awesome he is.” Nate had plans to buy Margot one anyway, but having a story behind it would make that exchange even better. “Okay, sounds good,” he smiled, offering up his arm as he’d seen in movies that people had done to their girlfriends– not that Margot was his girlfriend, he had no idea what they were, actually– but it felt a little safer than offering his hand.

“I’ll say and the fact you do it every day. Very impressive.” Margot complimented, knowing that if she worked with kids everyday she would bound to slip up somewhere and probably cause some sort of mass Santa or Easter Bunny crisis. “I think that’s probably for the best.” Margot’s face lit up at the thought of getting a plushie as a reminder of their first date together, “It’d be rude of us not to do that, I’d be ashamed of us.” When the other offered his arm, her smile only grew, linking her own through his and letting Nate lead the way, trying her best not to lean into the others touch too much, not wanting to make the other uncomfortable and also not wanting to come across as clingy.

Especially when it came to things like Santa or the Easter bunny, or more recently the answer to the question ‘Dr Nate, are the Brachiosauruses fun to ride on at Hogwarts?’ because he couldn’t quite handle how adorable that was. “It definitely would be. It doesn’t even have to be sea-themed though. What if we meet a seahorse called Nigel? I feel like that’s also good inspo,” Nate added, smiling as she moved to grab her bag. “Do you want to go there the muggle way or apparate?”

“I mean, I get it.” Margot commented, especially in Nate’s job where bad news was probably always being dealt out to the kids. A little white lie wouldn’t hurt them, “Maybe I’m just ruthless and maybe if I tell them the truth they won’t want me coming back anymore- which now that I’ve said all of this, maybe I shouldn’t be honest with them.” She chuckled, because she’d hate it if the kids didn’t see good in her anymore. “If we meet a seahorse named Nigel then he will automatically become my favorite animal in the whole world.” Once Margot had her bag and keys in hand, allowing her to lock up she smiled at the other. “I think maybe the muggle way, gives us more time to spend with one another.”

“I think you need this more then I do.” Margot commented, setting the tub of ice cream down in front of the other before moving to sit on the opposite side of her couch. “Where about’s were you in all this mess, anyways?” She couldn’t help but ask, knowing that not everyone was as lucky as she was in terms of being around friends during the lockdown.
