It appears as though characters have succeeded in escaping the maze only to walk out into a Washington DC so far into the future that the city has collapsed completely and any of their loved ones once there are long dead. Progressing through the wreckage long enough will reveal new corn stalks and a way to reenter the maze)
After Sylvie died she had felt so weak. She'd been walking with her dad but had lost sight of him and was now looking everywhere for him, but it wasn't easy with how she felt. She sees the end of the maze and stumbles towards it, so relieved and hoping her dad will have gotten out of the maze as well. She stops as soon as she looks up to see what DC looks like now. She's shocked, looking around for anyone. "This can't be real." She's surprised when she sees her Mom. "Mom? You're here?" She gives her a weak smile.
