I was just wondering, no reason. I’m caleb and you are handsome..
‘ nobody ever wonders for no reason... i’m mason. you new around here? ’
‘ much, thank you. ’
( walking passed the chair, she peeked in the corner of her eye at the book he read. greek mythology. )
‘ that book won’t help you. ’
‘ --... how do you know that? ’ ( for the longest time, mason just stared at her. he already knew this town wasn’t normal, but no one had been so direct about it before. )
“Ah… what kind are we talking about? Greek, Roman, Chinese…? Or maybe even legendary?”
‘ i think all of them? i don’t even know. here, check it out yourself. ’ ( mason tossed the book over. it was just a book he had borrowed from the library. it wasn’t incredibly helpful. )
“I am! I’m very freaked out. But why bother doing research on it? It’s over now!”
‘ lydia i’m not an idiot, alright? i know that you know stuff. seriously? you’re pretty much the town’s psychic. you pretty much find all the dead bodies in beacon hills. so you either are a psychic, have really bad luck or you’re a serial killer. personally, i’d prefer it if you were psychic. so --... are you? ’
“Thanks,” she nodded as a thank you as she took hold of her notebook. “Mythology? You do know most of the tales in there are just legends, right?” Malia tried to defend the supernatural, yet act as normal as possible – all at once. She had to admit it wasn’t something she was used to doing, either.
‘ most of them? i thought all of them were supposed to be legends. besides, i kinda figured as much. i’m just reading this out of boredom and stuff. ’
I said that you’re flashing around that book rather obviously. You’d might want to do that kind of studying back home, where people won’t see. This is how rumours start, y’know.
‘ what? rumors? what the heck are you talking about man? ’
“ you’re liam’s friend, aren’t you? he around? ”
brett arched a brow, leaning against the wall of beacon hills high school, a place he’d been frequenting too often lately.
‘ that’s me. liam’s friend. last time i checked, he was talking with our history teacher. -- why are you asking? i thought you and liam didn’t get along. ’ ( and as far as mason knew, they didn’t. he furrowed his eyebrows, confused as to why was brett looking for liam. somehow, mason doubted he would tell him. )
“Nothing of importance… what are you reading?”
‘ some book on mythological creatures. ’
( the witch raised an eyebrow at the man as he asked what she had said. )
‘ i asked you to move over a bit. ’
‘ oh yeah sure. ’ ( mason frowned just slightly, but he did as the girl asked him to. ) ‘ better? ’
Lydia sighed loudly upon seeing the book he was reading. “Why are you reading that?”
‘ well why wouldn’t I? after what happened all those months ago, i’m bound to be a little curious and freaked out. you aren’t though, are you? ’
Its just I wanted to know what you were reading?
‘ some book about mythology... why the curiosity? ’
“You’re standing on my notebook.” Malia repeated for the third time before laughing lightly. “You a little out of it?” Her gaze shifted to the book he was holding in his hands, her bright face turning serious and expressionless. “What’s that you’re reading?”
‘ oops. ’
( mason bent down and picked up her notebook. )
‘ here. sorry. i’m a little out of it today, it seems. ’
( he handed over the notebook, an apologetic smile on his face. )
‘ just some book on mythology and stuff. ’
‘ huh what? sorry you were saying? ’
( mason lifted his eyes, having been momentarily distracted by the mythological book he was reading. )
“ intense… “
