Hello everybody. My name is Eyüp and I am from Turkey. Today, I am going to introduce my home town which name is Mardin.                                                                Mardin is one of The Turkey’s cities. There are 10 towns in this city. Mardin’s population is 779,738. Mardin is a city as etnographic, archaeologic, historial, and visual. Mardin has got lots of different religions. Also, there are many mosques and churches in this city. Mardin’s name is unknown where it comes. Someone says, it comes from Persian, Greek or Arabic. There are lots of nationalities in Mardin like Kurdish, Turkish, Arabic and Armenian. Also, Mardin is a famous city with its stone houses. Lots of films are designed in these historical stone houses. You can see Mosque and churches between themselves.

     There is Syria South of Mardin. Mardin is on the silk road. Mardin’s climate is Continental. Winter’s months is cold and Summer’s months is hot. The highest temperature is 42,5 C and Also,  the lowest temperature is -14,0 C. Agrarian and animalcule is done in this city as a economical.

“Gonna” is a short form of “Going to.” After “Gonna” we do not use the preposition “To.” So, you may write like I am gonna give or I am going to give. On the other hand, “Going to” is formal and “Gonna” is informal. As far as I am concerned, you must not use short forms in your writing.

We do not use “The” before “Another.” So, you cannot write the another uncle. It’s better to write “another uncle”. On the other hand, you also can write “the uncle”.

EARTHQUAKE

My dear ENS members,

After long time, I have posted up a new post on Tumblr finally. Today I would like to write about earthquakes. Recently we have experienced earthquake in Nepal. Although the earthquake of Bangladesh was not serious like Nepal but we felt the vibration of earthquake. Fortunately that earthquake was not cause damages to property of Bangladesh. The Richter scale is normal in Bangladesh because we do not have any source places of earthquake so that we are safe here. But we have got another think coming that the source places of earthquake are coming towards Bangladesh. Weather expert says that there is a possibility to get extreme earthquake which can be occurred 6 or 7 on the Richter scale in 10 years. And they identified the Dhaka city (which is capital city of Bangladesh) as a most risky place for earthquake because most of the buildings of Dhaka are not structural enough. Unfortunately I have to say with frustrating information that most of the buildings of Dhaka city were not constructed structurally so that buildings can be collapsed easily when earthquake would happen.

We cannot prevent extreme earthquake. But the best we can do to take precaution. Several things can be done to take precaution against extreme earthquake. In order to do that we need a good advance forecasting system. For earthquake, we can give advance warning so that people can take shelter in safe places.

General people can pay attention to the weather service. They can also listen to radio or watch television to get the latest information about weather. The government should try to upgrade the satellite system by investing more money. They also need to build many shelters. People have to be more conscious about earthquake. They have to be more informative to know about how to save them and what to do during earthquake. This kind of consciousness can help them to save their life.

Last but not the least, although I know that earthquake does not have any law but at least we can take precaution against earthquake. Because I believe that “Something is better than nothing.”

KARTINI WOMAN’S DAY

                21st of April is recognized known/celebrated as KARTINI’S DAY in Indonesia. It’s held to commemorate her the struggle of an indonesian woman called Kartini in defending the women’s rights and freedom of Indonesian women either in education or and equality.

                Kartini was Born in Jepara, Central Java, Indonesian. She is was a great Intellectual charismatic and unpretentious Javanese patrician. When she was young, her parents were had strictly prohibited to her to enter higher high school. It occurred due to people mind set at that time solely assumed that the women simply being a housewife (Making up herself, Cooking , Bearing kid ), no more than that nothing more. in At a very young age she was eager to continue studying abroad, but it she failed. In spite of extremely difficult extreme difficulties that she had to face/cope with to achieve the her dream she never gave up. During her spare time she sent some letters to her friends in another country countries aim at helping  to actualize aiming to help her to fulfill/achieve her dream. She also wrote  opuses, and created many works about involve the woman emancipation “ HABIS GELAP TERBITLAH TERANG” (“Door Duisternis tot Licht”)  — after rain comes sunshine, that is the most popular work she created. After a while, she received the replies and her helpful friends considerably responded well on what Kartini expected lived up to her expectations. The result was amazed her; she was allowed to study abroad because the her friends of her persuaded the government to accept Kartini easily. Unfortunately, one more time it the attempt failed. Once Kartini wanted to go abroad, her parents had arranged marriage of for her. She forcefully married with one of  the a Prince. Through the time, she continuously fighted and stayed with her principle remained faithful to its principles to grasp the rest of woman’s right. She thought that although herself couldn’t feel to be freedom in everything but she will be determined for equality that the woman deserve to get same rights, same education, same freedom as the men commonly.

        She wrote works and sent many letters to her friends untill she got an illness a disease which that attacked her and led her passed away killed her later. Remark : (make the sentence simpler)

Her struggles are is respected by all people of Indonesia. As the result,and consequently the Indonesian women are free now to elevate develop their education, carrier career and get the same rights as men.

Above some corrections Sonah, remember that it’s much preferable to use small and simple sentences rather than long and complex ones. Simple sentences make clearful meanings and are less likely to contain mistakes

Thanks Anass for the correction, but there are some sentences that perhaps you don’t understand at all (Syntax, pragmatist)  - I chose higher education because she had already accomplished the Senior high school. What I mean  is that continue to study in university or collage.

- Pass away is (more polite) than kill —- because she is princess.t

International Mother Language Day

InternationalMother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21st February. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the awareness of language and cultural diversity all across the world. It was first announced by UNESCO on November 17, 1999. Since then it is being celebrated every year. The date represents the day 21st February 1952 when four young students were killed in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, because of Bengali and Urdu language controversy. Languages are the most powerful way to preserve and develop culture and to promote it all across the world. Because of this unfortunate incident, International Mother Language Day is celebrated in all over the world, while it is a public holiday in Bangladesh.

In 1947 at the time of partition of Pakistan, the province Bengal was divided into two parts: the western part became India and the eastern part is known as East Bengal which was later known as East Pakistan. At that time there were many economic, social and cultural issues including linguistic issue. In 1948 when government announced Urdu as the national language it sparked the protest among the Bengali speaking majority of Pakistan. The protest got out of control and ended with the death of four protestors of the University of Dhaka who were shot by the police. The students' deaths during the fight for their mother language are now remembered as The International Mother Language Day.

The Shaheed Minar in Dhaka pays respect to those four protestors killed for the sake of their mother language. An International Mother Language Day monument was constructed at Ashfield Park in Sydney, Australia. Here we can see the images of Shaheed Minar and the globe on the face of the stone with the words "we will remember the martyr of 21st February" written on it in both Bengali and English languages.

On International Mother Language Day UNESCO and other UN agencies take part in the events to promote cultural and linguistic diversity all around the world. They appreciate and encourage people to be knowledgeable about their mother language and provide them with awareness regarding the promotion of their language and culture towards other countries. In Bangladesh on International Mother Language Day people go to Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to the martyr of 21st February and sprinkle flowers on the monument. This is a time for Bangladesh is to celebrate their culture, traditions and their Bengali national language. The prizes are given to those who made outstanding performance in language and cultural diversity.

International Mother Language Day is celebrated in memory of the four students who were killed while fighting for their mother language and is celebrated to tell them that we will never forget their sacrifices.

I have always enjoyed working with computers, so it was an easy decision to

major in computer science at California University with a plan to enter the IT field.

Shahid Minar

The Shahid Minar is a national memorial in Dhaka, Bangladesh, recognized to remember those killed during the tongue Movement demonstration of 1952. February 21, 1952 many students of Dhaka University and political activists were killed when they are pumping on the road Pakistani shoulders are shoot on pomp.

When the Awami League came to the power they want to remember those martyrs. So they want to build a Shaheed Memorial structure. Current shaheed minar’s design was followed the original plan of 1957.

That’s just few of the numerous interesting places in Dhaka. Even there are also other several places such as numerous mosques, museums and monuments which are also visit able in Dhaka. All places are open for the public. So guests are all the time welcome to come and see the Beauty of Dhaka.

THE VICTORY DAY OF BANGLADESH

The 16th of December, 1971 is a red letter day in our national history. It was on this day we were to snatch our independences after a life and death liberation war for long nine months. This victory was a victory of right against wrong. It was a war of self-emancipation. Every year we observe this day in a colorful manner. This day reminds us of the supreme in a colorful manner. 

This day reminds us of the supreme sacrifice of our freedom fighters who will ever shine in our hearts like the luminous stars in the sky. But at the same time we must remember the spirit of the liberation war. We wanted a country where justice will prevail over injustice and wrong. Instead, we are now having a night-marsh experience of lawlessness, violence and misrule. The lords of the mischief mongers are getting upper hand in the society, whereas the meek and mild become the worst sufferers. Disorder in everything has become the order of the day. 

Special Program for the day: Every year the Government, different organization and institutions take elaborate programs to celebrate the day on a befitting manner. The national flag is hosted in all important offices, buildings, institutions and shops. All important places are tastefully decorated. Meetings and seminars are held to explain the importance of the day. On this day we pay rich tributes to the memory of the day. On this day we pay rich tributes to the memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of our independence. So let all of us remember the spirit of the victory and see to establish just laws in the country to build it as a country which rightly be called ‘Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bangladesh).
