The Thaw
You’re coal - against the world you’re cold, to yourself you’re closed. Laying terrified a spark will ignite a fire inside and when you do go up in flames they won’t be able to contain you. I for one can’t wait to see your Spring bloom; You’ll paint the sky where you’ve shone and singe the feathers of the Phoenix so that it can be born. You’ll be worn by every torch, your song voiced by every chorus. You’ll be the savior of the masses with your effervescent warmth. Right now you show a rock, you feel a stone, alone, and furled - Yet… You cast no shadow, like a flame, I see you thawing out our world.
