excuse me for stating the obvious but like. james gunn outright calling superman an immigrant and doubling down on it when he got backlash (because he IS an immigrant, that's the point of superman) + the in-movie dialogue of "aren't you going to read me my rights?" "you're an extraterrestrial, son. you haven't got any rights to read." + the violence of his arrest and how they torture and mistreat him unapologetically, all under the guise of "protecting america", in a film releasing during the onslaught of violent ICE kidnappings and abuse... yeah it's really no wonder right-wing knobheads are crying about this being woke. they're being forced to look directly at the reasons one of the most well-known and beloved heroes of all time would not be on their side. and that's only ONE of the reasons this movie covers
Sound on to hear the water running through pebbles
Was reading Surah An'am and there's a verse that translates to "your Lord has made it obligatory on himself to be merciful to you" and I put my Quran down and took a deep sigh. A higher being who has nothing to gain from me has made it compulsory on HIMSELF to be merciful to me?
اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
I want to live in an enchanted forest and be a tiny tiny fairy who flies over the river and sits on the flowers to see the stars and eat wild berries and feel overwhelmed by the nature and it’s pure harmony and peace.
Allah has already written the day when your pain will end, your tears will dry, and your heart will find peace. Until then, trust His timing. If the fruit you eat was meant for you the moment its seed was planted, what makes you think what's meant for you won't find you? Your naseeb is so beautiful, Allah is the best of the planners.
Someday you will look back and thank Him. The healed version will hit different, have patience and make dua, what's written for you, no one can steal that from you.💐

You don’t have to be perfect for Allah to love you. You just have to keep coming back. We all have moments when our imaan dips, when salah feels heavy, when the Qur’an remains unopened on the shelf… and guilt starts to weigh on our chest. But even in those moments, Allah is still there—waiting, watching, knowing. He knows the storm you’re hiding behind your smile. He knows the nights you cry quietly, not knowing what’s wrong. And He knows the times you’ve tried to fix your heart but fell again. Islam was never about being flawless—it’s about turning back every single time you slip. The real failure isn’t in falling. It’s in thinking that your sins are bigger than Allah’s mercy. They’re not. So talk to Him. With your broken words, with your tired heart, with your past mistakes and all. There is no better refuge than the One who created your soul. And no heart is too far gone for Him to bring back to life. 🤍
