No worries, but is this blog dead? I was interested in adopting, but I noticed you haven’t posted in a while!

Not dead. I have been fighting through illness in early pregnancy and working the evening shift at my job so my time has been really non existant. Things should be evening out soon and I will be back to normal before much longer.

hey, do the three returned kitties have to go the same home? My son would love to adopt the honey fold, but is a bit hesitant of the other two and he'd feel horrible for taking one of their friends away.

They do not, in fact the Redimese may not be leaving any time soon regardless of if the Papysynnian and Honey Fold do get adopted. I will be making a decision on Copper before long and his adoption status so if your son would like him he is more then welcome to apply for the position of official Copper hugger and companion. :D

Sorry if I missed this, but what happened to Copper the Honey Fold? I didn’t see a post where he got returned. I like that type and might be interested in him! Can you tell me more about him, like does he have special needs or anything? - Jenna

Copper’s previous owner returned him privately when they left the fandom, and in I assured them that his return would remain anonymous. So I didn’t make a post showing when he got returned because of that. He has no special needs and a few people have shown interest. If you bear with me I will be looking into a forever home for him very soon!

"mind if I help out with the two poor dearies? It looks like this will take a toll on you Med" I had walked into the shop looking worried after reading the recent post about the two returns.

Meadowlark smiled sadly as you walked in, indeed it was rather tiring taking care of more needy kitties but she loved her bitties. So long as they lived at the center she considered them hers. “Hello dear.” She smiled, the Redimese curled in her arms and he glowered the other woman’s direction, trying to bury himself in the puca’s hoodie. “You can try with the Papysynnian, I wouldn’t want to risk any of your bitties being hurt by this guy here. I’m the only one who can safely hold him at the moment. Even then… sometimes he takes his frustration out on me as well.” She sighed. “Poor Fennel learned that the hard way.” She stroked along the Redimese’s head. “You know how these fell types can be.”

A pile of Boss Coons of varying shades of ginger, red, and cream all looked your way as you approached. Their superior floof and size hiding the Papysynnian from view at first, but as you got closer you would notice he was half hiding in the larger felines. Normally a Papysynnian would run up to greet you, this one smiled and waved but it looked like a weak attempt at best. One of the Boss Coons approached you carefully, glancing at Meadowlark who nodded her head. “Help him?” The boss coon asked, though his gravelly voice made it sound almost like an order if one didn’t know how these types were. Anyone could see the Papysynnian was not ready to be adopted out yet, but perhaps a foster home for a bit might help him out.

“Yes, I am here to help him the best I can” I answered truthfully. I recognized some of the boss coins from when I adopted boss and the others. I carefuly made my way over to the papysynnian and knelt on one knee before offering my hand to him. “if he wants me to that is. I will never force somebitty to do something their unwilling to do” I said softly smiling at him.

The Boss Coons nod their head and shift their forms to let you get close to the Papysynnian who just watches you with a sad expression. The long haired felines encouraging him gently and the usually exuberant bitty seemed conflicted. He felt safe with the Boss coons, but he didn’t sense any ill will from you so after a moment of thinking he stood up and walked over. The usual Papy prance missing from his steps, still it was a bit of progress. “If he gets worse, we help too.” The boss coon said simply, folding his arms. Clearly he was protective of the Papysynnian. But he had seen you around the shop often enough to trust you.

After getting the response I've decided to take him to the shop. He's held to my chest and he purrs contently. I smile to the person sitting behind the desk and tell them why I'm here. Purrsley gets very alert and looks at the kitties in the shop and lowly growls.Swats at any hands that reaches for him but keeps himself from hissing, since I'm stroking his back he seems to be somewhat relaxed.I also talk about my Bosscoon, and that Purrsley will allow him on my lap,aslong as he's on my shoulder.

Meadowlark was waiting patiently when you arrived with your Sansapura, Clove meeting you at the door with a bright smile before leading you towards where the puca shopkeeper was waiting.

“So nice to see you all again!” She beamed and offer you a seat across from her on one of the couches. “So how long has he been acting like this?” Her eyes shifted to Purrsley curiously and she didn’t reach his way just yet. Gauging his reactions to her being this close to start.

“Its nice to see you again aswell my dear! Altough the occasion could’ve been better” I say giggly as I sit down and continue to pet Purrsley who’s now laying on my lap with his head directly faced towards you. Purrsley is watching your movements very closesly and his tail is whipping back and forth. “Ah well.. it started about a week and a half ago? I thought it would pass but.. nothing I’ve tried have worked?” I seem to hesitate for a moment before I continue “It well.. it might’ve started during my ehm.. period? I get really bad cramps and have to stay in bed for most of the time. Purrsley here never left his spot on my stomach, and he pawed and massaged my stomach while purring loudly.” “mrrowr” Purrsley seems to answer while still eyeing your every move. “Not even Ozzie, my Bosscoon, or the dogs have been allowed to get to close to me since. At first I shrugged it off, he might’ve noticed I was in pain and wanted to make sure I was okey but.. I’m not in pain anymore and Purrsley only seems to get more pushy with the others?” A look of dejection creeps into my face. “I’ve tried asking him whats wrong, even let him sleep on my headpillow but he wont talk to me. Only in purrs and meows and haha I cant speak cat?!” I seem to be thinking for a moment. “Purrsley dosent use his claws but he swats at anything that comes to close. And in my household everyone should be getting equally as much attention and affection, but its been a little difficult.. to say the least”.

(sorry for the delay, been having a time of it) Meadowlark nodded her head thoughtfully, rubbing her chin and twitching her ears as she processed the information. She took in the Sansapura’s body language, he was clearly being protective, perhaps a bit territorial, and was clearly agitated by her being even as close as she was. So she decided to push the boundary a bit. “What I need you to do... and this will be tough.... is when I get closer to you, if he moves to swat at me. Make a sound to catch his attention and interrupt him.” She stood up slowly, dusting off the front of her khaki shorts. “He’s trying to protect you from what I can tell, which is typical behaviour for a Sansapura who is in the early stages of really bonding with their owners. I could be wrong, but this doesn’t seem romantic. Perhaps feeling as bad as you did triggered more aggressive tendencies, but I do know we gotta stop it quickly.” “Missss. Please be careful.” Fennel offered from where he was folding laundry across the room and Meadow nodded her head. “Purrsley, you know I’m not going to hurt anyone. So don’t you swat at me.” Her words were firm, but kind and gentle as she moved to sit directly beside you. Waiting to see if he was so far into these behaviours that he would swat at her too.

Poor Kitties.

It had been a hard few weeks at the shop, and it showed on the Puca’s face as she worked. It hadn’t been anyone’s fault, but circumstances were trying and so three kitties she had adopted out were now back at the center. Copper was taking it the best, if she were honest, his owner had been sad to send him back but it had been a series of circumstances that forced their hand. The Honey Fold was sad, there was no denying that, but he settled in with Clove and some of the other older felines in the center. Fennel was still keeping an eye on him, returned bitties can fall down very easy, even if they put on a brave face, perhaps especially if they do. Both the lamia and the puca were sure he’d find the perfect home for him, the large feline was such a good kitty. The Papysynnian and Redimese that were returned were a different story. Papysynnians are typically outgoing and friendly, the returned feline was withdrawn, even from other Papysynnians and Russian Blues. He’d taken to lounging with the Boss Coons, saying they helped him feel better. That was fine with the shapeshifting shopkeeper, though she often checked in and the Boss Coons gave her regular updates to make sure he wouldn’t fall down. The Redimese... Oh, she was so distraught over the Redimese. They were very difficult felines anyways, and when they bond with a person it’s very hard on them. The fickle feline wouldn’t respond to anyone if he could help it, he’d taken over a cat condo in the back corner of the shop and only with a fight could she get him out to make sure he was eating. She was worried about him, once he was out he would cling to her and she was often seen holding him to her chest with one arm as she did her work. Setting him down would send him into a rage that would either have him or another cat hurt, and she worried he might be shifting to a Cherry type if he didn’t get over this anxiety and stress he was exhibiting. The puca sighed, vulpine ears twitching sadly, and she steeled herself, getting back to work. She would help her sad kitties, she would find them perfect homes. She wouldn’t let them down!

Sorry everyone

I’m sorry I haven’t been around much the past week or so. Between dragoncon, a new job I started last week, and getting used to waking up at 4 am I haven’t been a very good host to you all. For that I apologize. I do want to let you guys know that I will do my best to get back posting regularly but I don’t know how well I’ll do since I also just found out that I am pregnant with my second child. So job, waking up at 4 am, and pregnancy. Whee. Bear with me everyone I appreciate it, honest to Stars I do. <3 Love you all!

Tyr the full sized king lamia comes slithering through the door with his human, Fire, slung over his shoulder and protesting, which he ignores. "Hello! We were walking in the area and noticced the kittiess...Can we come vissit? We're not looking to adopt though." His hood is fluttering slightly in excitement and he looks excited.

Clove ran up excitedly as the full sized lamia slithered in with his owner, bouncing over his tail and running back into the adoption center. The Papysynnian paused now and then to wave the large lamia in deeper, hopping onto a couch where the puca shopkeeper was lounging with a pile of Honey Folds in her lap. “Meddie, we have guests!” The excitiable feline chirped happily as she looked up from the dozing cats to let her amber eyes fall on the lamia with his owner slung over his shoulder. She covered her mouth with one hand, giggling quietly at poor Fire’s situation and nodded her head.“But of course! Guests are always welcome. Please, sit, enjoy. Can I get either of you a drink? A snack?” The puca gently slid the felines off her lap, one opening an eye to look at the King before closing them again. “I’m Meadowlark, this is my Papysynnian, Clove, and welcome to our home.” She inclined her head politely to the King as a few felines drew closer slowly. A Boss Coon observing from one of the catwalks above, his fluffy tail hanging over the edge to dangle towards the floor. Meadow smiled and clapped her hands once. “Kitties, we have visitors.” She called out, several more felines popping their heads from baskets and cat condos.

Tyr had literal stars in his eyes as he looked at all the kittybitties. “They’re all so cute!” He looked like he was ready to drop Fire and go pet them all.

Fire pushed herself up a little so she could actually see what was going on. “I’m sorry for intruding on your home. Someone likes cats a lot, and got a little bit over excited.

Meadowlark smiled as Tyr seemed overwhelmingly happy at the group of kitties that had scurried over to meet everyone. A pair of Russian Blueberries tumbling over each other before thumping lightly against his side they played. Both looking up at him with wide sockets before flashing friendly smiles. Clove hopped from his owner’s vicinity to round up more of the felines for the visitors. “Please feel free to pet and pick up anyone, everyone is very friendly, even if they deny it.” She giggled as she poked a Redimese’s cheek. He grumbled and blushed, pushing her finger away and huffing. “We love having company so he is welcome by whenever he likes! We don’t mind in the least.” She looked thoughtful then smirked. Turning towards the back she called out. “Hey Fennel, are any of the kittens up?: If Tyr liked the cats so much, he’d love the kittens. The Rattler peeked out from the back room and nodded before disappearing again. A few minutes later the lamia came slithering from the back, carrying a basket with easily a dozen kittens of various breeds peeking at the King with curious eyes and mewing quietly.

“Put me down, you big lug.” Fire laughed, thumping his back. “So you can go pet them.” She looked at Meadowlark as he followed her direction. “We aren’t allowed a cat at our townhouse so…he has to live vicariously. I apologize for his enthusiasm, but I can promise he won’t hurt a soul.

Tyr offered pets to the two Russian blueberries, up until the kittens came out. “May I pleasse pet them?” He asked hopefully. “They’re sso tiny! And adorable!”

“I completely understand, sometimes one must be stuck just visiting and admiring without being able to have what we want” She nodded knowingly and sighed, taking the basket and motioning for everyone to have a seat. Once Tyr was settled she set the basket of kittens in front of him and smiled warmly. “Of course you can. You can come by whenever you’d like and play with them.” Fennel coiled himself up nearby to watch, the kittens were his responsibility after all and he took it very seriously, and rested his head on his arms. Each of the kittens could fit in one hand, their fur short and extra floofy as only a kittens could be. “Thessse are only 4 weekssss old.” He offered and Meadow sat beside the rattler to lean lightly on him.

The 13 foot lamia coiled himself to make himself look as small as possible so he didn’t frighten any of them as he reached out very slowly. “Oh, they are perfect.”

“Don’tcha mean purrfect?” Fire teased her friend.

“Sshut up Fire. Let me enjoy thiss.” He complained as he oh so carefully began to pet.

Meadowlark covered her mouth to hide her amusement at the pun, Fennel sighing and shaking his head at it. The Rattler puffed up proudly when the kittens were praised, as if they were his own young, watching as the tiny felines pressed their heads and sides into the King’s hands as he stroked along each of them. Even the tiny Redimese kittens accepting the affection readily and only batting at his fingers once or twice. “Thank you, we don’t have many kittens this time of year usually, but we took in a bonded pair from a feral colony. Their colony got scattered and they couldn’t take care of a large litter on their own, so they came here.” She pointed up to a far corner of the room where a grizzled looking Honey Fold and a tiny Papysynnian were watching the goings on carefully but they didn’t appear worried. Several of the kittens began to climb on Tyr, making their way up his arms without any grace and Meadow giggled at their antics.

Tyr was in absolute heaven, giggling as they climbed all over him, and keeping close to the ground in case, for some reason, he was unable to catch them. He cooed to each one, nuzzling them if they came near his head.

“Oh wow. Brave of them.” Fire waved at the two grizzled bitties. “I’m very impressed.”

Meadow giggled as the tiny felines climbed all over the King, Fennel worrying every so often when one would wobble and almost fall, but they were safe with Tyr and even he could see that. The small cats would mewl and rub against his hood and his face whenever he nuzzled at them, purring loudly as they climbed all over him like he was the most fascinating of cat condos. “The kittens are usually pretty fearless. Their personalities are much the same at this age, within the next four or five weeks they’ll start getting much more different personalities based on their breed, but we try to keep all the kittens mingled to help the less friendly breeds be more social.” Meadow smiled and scooped up a tiny Russian Blueberry that had rolled off Tyr. Rubbing his skull affectionately before she set him down in the King’s coils to resume his playing.

Tyr was beside himself, rumbling happily. He was having trouble figuring out where to put the most attention, trying to love on ever kitten at once.

“They’re fantastic.” Fire agreed, reaching out to pet a honey fold kitten. “Absolutely perfect.”

A tiny Redimese tucked himself against Tyr’s hood, rumbling quietly with a purr as he started to doze back off. Meadowlark watched on with a small smile. “Thank you, we take great pride in our little ones so that one day they can find their families and live long happy lives.” She sighed softly, a happy smile on her features and she reached out to pet Clove. “My kitties are my everything, I’m so glad you like them.”

Tyr froze, trying to look at the Redimese. “Fire! Look!” He was almost too excited to stay still, but he was doing his best not to disturb his new friend. “Happiesst day of my life!”

“I can honestly see why.” Fire said to Meadowlark, beaming before chuckling at her lamia. “Am I allowed to take pictures? Because this needs to be shared with the others at home.”

Meadowlark giggled, pulling out her own phone to take a picture herself. “Of course you can!” She took a close up as well as one zoomed out that showed all the kittens climbing on him. “This is adorable.”

“It is. You’ve made him happier than I did by adopting him.” Fire laughed as she snapped many pictures. For once, Tyr wasn’t concerned about posing heroically. It would disrupt the kittens after all.

“Oh pssh. Nothing makes a bitty happier then being adopted. This can be a second place to that!” She insisted, giggling softly at the two of them. It didn’t take long for more of the kittens to wear out and start falling asleep on the King in different spots, the Papysynnian and Russian Blueberry kittens holding out the longest before falling asleep themselves. Meadowlark stooped to pick up the most precariously perched of them, setting them in the basket one by one before sliding it close to Tyr so he could keep petting them as they slept. “I’m glad to have made your day.”

Tyr grinned at his human. “No, sshe’ss right. Thiss iss better” He teased before going back to petting the kittens. “I love them sso much!”

Meadowlark chuckled softly and watched the King swoon over the kittens. “Well you are welcome anytime to visit with them, with all the kitties here. I’m sure they’d love the company of a wonderful King like you.” She offered, nodding at the human. “Both of you are always welcome in the shop.” Meadowlark smiled as Fennel sneaking close to catch one of the kittens who had woken up and was trying to escape. Setting the tiny Papysynnian in the basket and petting his head before backing off again. “The kittenssss ssseem to really enjoy the playtime too.” He offered with a rattle of his tail and a smile.

“I jusst got a job down the road, sso I might take you up on that.” Tyr beamed. “I would love to sspend more time with them. And here.”

“We really appreciate you letting us come in and play. While he’s swooning over them, are there any awake kitties who might like to play with a boring ol human?” Fire asked.

As the girl spoke a head would poke from under the couch, grinning up at her and rolling his way out slowly. “I’m always up for a bit of cat and mouse.” The Sansapura grinned, rolling onto his back to swing one forepaw lazily her direction. Meadowlark snickered to herself as Fennel sighed. Always with the bad puns and jokes. “You are very welcome, the kitties don’t get nearly enough visitors most of the time.” Meadow chuckled as the Sansapura ported himself into her lap.

“Oh you’ve gotta be kitten me with that joke.” Fire grinned down at him, offering a hand for pets. “Just too clawesome.”

“What can I say? I’m paw-atively terrible, the groans my jokes bring is meow-sic to my ears.” The sansapura grinned at her, tipping his head towards the petting and starting a low rumble of a purr. “Yes, we all know you think you’re hilarious.” Meadow chuckled, Fennel sighing softly and rubbing his face with a palm.

Before Fire could open her mouth to pun back, Tyr’s tail impacted with the back of her head gently. “No puns. You’ll bother the kittens.”

Meadowlark giggled softly at the two of them, it was nice to just sit around and enjoy some company with the kittens and the felines. Fennel draping himself over his owner as she watched the other two with a smile. “Aww, purr-sonaly I’d love to hear more puns.” The Sansapura grinned at Tyr, batting his forepaws at Fire gently so his toe beans tapped on her hand.

“Beans!” Fire cooed, pulling off her necklace to use as a toy if he wanted. It was a long silver chain with an anatomically correct heart charm. “I dunno though..I’m not very clawver. But I do have quite the cattitude.”

Tyr sighed heavily and pointedly turned to pet the sleeping kittens.

The Sansapura snickered at her puns as his forepaws batted lightly at the charm on the necklace. He was careful not to catch the chai. With his claws.

"People say I have quite the purr-sonality." He smirked in response, "But it may just be my puns are too claw-some for them to handle."

Clove and Fennel sighed and shook their heads, the latter rubbing his face and slithering close to Tyr to give the sleeping kittens more pettings.

Wait, your bitties can desire to be mates with their owners? I didn’t see anything about that before. Can I return my Redimese and Papysinnian, I’m not really comfortable with that idea since I’m a minor. I wish I had known before adopting them. I’m not upset or anything, it’s just a bit weird.

It is unusual but can happen in some cases. However, for one of them to view you that way you would have to be an adult as bitties and monsters in general can tell when someone is still in their stripes. Bitties are very in tune with their owners and can tell when that would make you uncomfortable. If they had such a feeling and you showed discomfort woth it they would be understanding and let those feelings die without acting upon them.

Hello! I come to you for guidence since I dont know what to do? My Purrsley (Sanspurra) has been acting abit.. out of character lately?He follows me everywere and meows for my attention, mostly for me to pick him up so he can lick and gently nudge my face, mostly when he's too lazy to teleport, of course I scratch and smooch him. He hisses and swats at anyone who comes to close to me, when I ask him why he just purrs and brush against me for more cuddles. He's usually so laidback. Is he okey?

Hmmmm. Well I dont think there is anything wrong with him, so there is that to put your mind at ease. But what it could be is many things.

He may be feeling overprotective of you, some kitties get this way when they feel like their owner may have been treated poorly or they may be getting sick.

He also may be viewing you as a potential mate, and is being territorial until he determines how you feel about that possibility. If he won't talk to you and instead tries to keep placating you than I lean more towards the second option.

The third option is he may be having a magic overload which is clouding his senses, but I highly doubt that. Unless there are other symptoms like fever and sweating than that is the least likely culprit.

You can feel free to bring him by the shop if you need any assistance in figuring it out. Fennel, Clove, and I are always here.
