What if garlic doesn’t actually kill or ward off vampires but instead they have a stronger sense of smell to help them detect blood easier and with that comes scent related sensory issues and garlic just happens to be a really common sensory overload smell for vampires

Hear me out: what about a story where everything we know about vampires isn’t true at all apart from them being functionally immortal humanoid gothic bloodsuckers. Like literally everything else we know about them is just a stereotype and they are literally just humans who can’t be killed and drink blood.

they can see themselves in mirrors, the Sun doesnt hurt them, garlic doesn’t hurt them, they don’t need to be invited into buildings, they age like normal humans except the only thing that can kill them is old age and illness

And the best part? They have no idea that people assume these things about vampires so when someone addresses it they’re just like “what the fuck are you talking about??”

Having said all that heres my concept: human high schooler makes friends with the new girl, finds out she’s a vampire and they get into a lot of shenanigans involving the human’s misconceptions about vampires and the vampire’s complete confusion on WHY someone would ever assume she can’t look at herself in the mirror

Nice long episode to hopefully make up for the lack of episode last week! Although the reality is that I really just didn't want to cut this episode up, I have a bad habit of making my episodes too long for my own workload to handle but it's really just because of how I like to pace my episodes, I don't like posting small snippets at a time, just doesn't feel 'done' to me and it leaves an unsatisfied itch in my brain. Not only is this episode longer than most, it also had a lot of bigger scenes to draw with lots of characters, but I had a good time with it and I'm glad to see it finished! I think one of the biggest revelations about my youth that I keep thinking about is how I was getting falsely accused of being a lesbophobe (despite being a lesbian) and told I don’t deserve a safe space in the lgbt community left and right and even got the occasional death or rape threat all bc I was open about being asexual when I was about 15-16 and recently I learned that the reason why was because a small portion of the asexual tumblr community had it OUT for lesbians and the allo queers decided to target to wrong part of the community

Lesbians really were the most mature group in this situation from what I can tell, I remember they were my biggest allies at the time.

Lemme just say, those people who went out for asexuals like that? Yeah they did NOT gaf about lesbians lol they just wanted an excuse to go out and attack ace teens on tumblr. If they really cared about lesbians at the time, then me and other ace lesbians wouldn’t have faced this vitriol
