Meet Nevi. Nevi likes to sit and just watch me sometimes. It can be up to an hour. I don’t know why.
She doesn’t want out.
She just watches.
Nevi Nevi Nevermouse passed away on Monday, October 3. She had a very bad tumor and the vet wasn't optimistic. As she was a little mouse and I'm low income, the vet suggested putting her down since the bill could have been up to a grand to remove. Few people would, after all, spend that much money on a little mouse. Nevers was always very stubborn though, surviving anything and everything, and I'd told her that I would at least try to help.
Bringing along her mate and one of her daughters so she would have family to travel with, Nevi went to get the massive thing on her side removed. She survived the surgery and anesthetic, like I knew she would, and was finally tumor-free. While she was recovering in the ward on oxygen, however, her heart stopped and the vets could not start it up again. CPR, oxygen bag, nothing. We think it may have been shock since it was such an intense operation. I dunno if she got to enjoy what little time she had without that awful lump on her, but she was so blitzed on pain meds that I doubt she felt much of anything bad, for which I'm glad. It took a number of illnesses and injuries and a tumor the size of a golf ball to finally bring her down, the tough little thing.
RIP Nevers. I'll take good care of your family. You were a good mouse.
