hey everyone! we all have a hunger is currently the 6th most kudoed fic on the byler tag (i am well and truly blown away) and as much as i would love to reply to all of you, i physically don't have enough time, so i just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who's read, kudoed, and left a comment!! it means so so much to me and has felt incredibly motivational and rewarding, i promise that none of your words go unread/unappreciated!!

i also wanted to go through some general FAQs and a little bit of background about the fic if anyone's interested. the whole thing was basically me nerding out so it just feels right to share that kind of stuff.

anyways, boring bits first:

translations are more than welcome! you don't need to ask, just credit me as the original author.

podfics - there is already one out there that i love dearly (it can be found on my page here or linked in the original work directly) but if you would like to make one of your own then please ask me for permission.

fanart/edits - go CRAZY!! i have been obsessed with everything i have already seen!! please just dm me so i can see!!

regarding the will pov sequel - all in good time. my brain is cooking away after the shitshow that was the finale especially now that everyone is on the 90s college byler train!! they're so real to me!!

my old byler fics - there's nothing i am particularly fond of but i like to leave them public so i can remind myself i'm getting better, so if you read them, please remember i'm not the same person as i was in like, 2017.

fic background stuff for those who care as i've seen people point some stuff out in the comments already:

the entire bathroom sequence was inspired by one singular scene from if we were villains by m. l. rio where one character covers another in fake blood in an enclosed space between performing shakespeare scenes (shout out to james and oliver. highly recommend the book if you haven't read it already!!)

yes, mike's costume is inspired by felix's angel costume from saltburn. so is the eyebrow piercing. 90s mike would get one and i'm very glad to see everyone seeing the vision now.

yes, i'm a huge nbc hannibal fan. i think that one is obvious. also interview with the vampire. again, obvious.

some fun facts about me: i have a film degree and my specialism is screenwriting! every film i made whilst at uni was gay in some way, and the last one i did involved some very romantic and very lesbian cannibalism. i have several bottles of fake blood under my bed still (in case i ever get myself in will or mike's situation, i guess. i'm kidding. or am i)

i've been writing fics for like a decade now and none have ever done this well so this is all very exciting for me!!!

omg you have boreo fic……this is fantastic for me. I reread it end of last year (can’t believe I was going through tgf, st, and it all at the same time that was not planned) anyway would love to hear all your opinions on the goldfinch I feel very strongly about it on a reread it gives me such complex feelings

i’m so late responding to this so apologies but god i miss my boreo fic era, they really shaped me as a writer (well, donna tartt did) i first read tgf in like 2018 and have reread several times since, it’s genuinely my favourite book ever. it’s just so comforting to me and it lives so deeply in my soul and theo is very important to me as a character (as you can tell by my username) and don’t get me started on boreo… i’m unwell. i miss them so much. i’ll stop rambling or i’ll keep going forever

Hi! |just wanted to express my gratitude for your fic «we all have a hunger (tell me what you need)». It's just so beautiful and honestly, it was such a healing experience to read it after that horrible finale. This is my canon now, actually. I was literally hyperventilating (in a good way i promise lol), because I felt so much at once. The way you described their yearning felt so real and so in-character and just perfect. This work will probably stay with me forever. It's truly amazing and I'm glad that people like you exist - doing something they love and it shows in the way they do it. I'm sorry but even comparing you to the duffers feels unfair - they should take notes (or actually give the pen to someone who cares about these characters and knows them better). By the way, could I maybe print it out just for myself, for it to be on my bookshelf? If you feel comfortable with that, of course!

Anyways, thank you so much for this piece of art. Please spread creations of your beautiful mind when you feel like it - I (for one) will gratefully read it all😭
