[Brenda was taken aback at his actions. He was definitely surprised when he saw her, but not in the way one would with a stranger. It was a bit hard to pint-point, but Brenda was certain now that the youth in question was none other than Luke.]

[She tried to think quickly of what was going on. He said, she wasn’t real: that she was probably just a hallucination. So, in order for him to believe that… what was going on? Brenda would never let Luke go to a boarding school, he called her a hallucination… Perhaps the first thing she should do should be convince him that she was real?]

"Luke… listen, if I were a hallucination, I wouldn’t be able to…"

[She looked about the place. Was there some sort of twig she could hold and move around to show how corporeal she was in an objective way? Well: there was a small pebble by her foot. The woman picked it up.]

"Alright: see this? Hallucinations can’t interact with real things, can they? I’m fairly certain I’m not a figment of your imagination."

He sighed in defeat. Isn't like this was the strangest thing that'd happened to him.

"So.. So you're real then? Were you just hiding the entire time? Have you.. have you come to take me home, maybe.....?" Luke seemed to have lost his condescending tone and gone back to his usual gentle one. This was.. strange, very very very strange.

He had to be cautious but.. at least this was his mother, right? She was going to take him home, right? ... Right? But then again, there was the other issue.. him.

[ Wonder 3 is an anime/manga by Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy, and is one of my favourite anythings of all time it is Really Really good. It's from 1965 and is about three aliens, Bokko Pukko and Nokko sent to go judge if they should blow up earth. Sadly tho only 1 episode has been subtitled and the English dub was destroyed in a warehouse fire :(
