Sometimes Artful doesn't feel human.

I just found a brush I liked and decided to do a little drawing based on my AU.

I have a headcanon that after the "Accident" and after meeting Pursuer, Artful gradually feels less and less human.

How can he still see himself as human after what he did?

Ironically, it's Pursuer who learns humanity from Artful — learning about love, care, and comfort.

In this AU, Artful's magic affects him just as much as his emotions and feelings affect his magic. The accident happened largely because the magic perceived what was happening as a threat to its "host" and began trying to protect him. Because of that, Artful only remembers the events partially.

This ship happened by accident because of jokes between me and my bestfriend.

You can call him HotCloak.

He's not bad person, and he's not evil either. In fact, he's pretty kind-hearted. His only problem is that he's attracted to monsters, especially Evil Scary.

He's not afraid of Evil Scary at all, which is what made Evil Scary interested in him.

(Yeah, in my AUs, Evil Scary is sentient.)

Fun fact from the wiki:

Cloak can be used to escape tight situations with Evil Scary, as it cannot track someone while invisible. And Hotdog is also able to withstand an attack from Evil Scary if above 100 HP.

That's why he's actually really good during Evil Scary rounds.

Today I found out about this Pursuer drama, and I just want to say that, to me, Pursuer was never and WILL NEVER be a "stupid animal" or even an "animal" in general.

He’s an anthropomorphic monster.

He taught himself how to use a sword, play the harmonica, do backflips, and even speak a little. The only reason he speaks poorly is because there was nobody there to teach him.

In my AUs, Artful taught Pursuer how to speak and read.

Also, about a month before all of this happened, my friend and I jokingly decided that Pursuer got a doctorate degree, and now, out of pure and sincere disrespect toward the whole "Pursuer is an animal" idea, his doctorate is canon in my AU.

Civilian!Killers DoD AU: Pursuer

I finally finished drawing him.

I think it would be funny to imagine Pursuer suddenly turning into a human and having to learn human habits.

That raw meat now makes him feel sick and gives him a stomach ache.

That he has to wear clothes now and also realize that his regeneration won’t save him from a revolver bullet anymore.

But Artful is there, ready to teach him (and the others) how to be human.(Maybe being a “babysitter” for former creatures will give him some kind of redemption…)

And Pursuer can’t tie his shoelaces.
