i want to use this ask to bring light to jungwon’s live from today and add my own thoughts to it
if you haven’t seen seen what he said, he basically came on live and said verbatim “enhypen is 6 members, everyone. enhypen is 6.”
and i’ve said this for ages now, but any engene who refuses to accept the fact that enhypen are in fact currently 6, and that heeseung is a soloist, are GENUINELY doing nothing but hurting both sides.
it really bothers me that members have had to come online time and time again and try get fans to support them as six, and be met with either scrutiny, or denial from their own supporters. jungwon’s live especially irked me, because i can tell he’s fed up with it. they all are, he said it himself clearly. and i would be too.
i can only imagine how frustrating it must have been for jungwon, as well as the other members to have had all their words and actions twisted to fit a narrative because fans aren’t ready to accept this reality. even thinking about jay’s birthday live annoys because something that was supposed to be a moment where he could celebrate his day with fans got ruined because of said fans. he had to literally ask fans to not harass other members like this on their birthday, saying he didn’t mind it happening to him but not bring that burden onto them???? is that normal???
and that’s what this has been this whole time. genuinely by questioning enhypen’s existence as 6, and trying to find excuses as to why heeseung could possibly come back, you’re doing nothing but putting a burden on them. it’s a slap to their face quite literally. because what else does that show other than that your support for them is conditional and only exclusive if it’s 7?
jungwon even specifically mentioned their recent concert in mexico with the fanchant. i saw a tweet that honestly summarised it so well. you’ve done the ot7 fanchant, but what now? what’s going to change? because heeseung is not coming back even if you do it 100 times. all it does is disrupt their performances like jungwon said and discourage them
you can tell they have been very careful these past 4 months with how they relay their messages to their fans. up until today, they’ve made sure to not break any fans heart by saying something that could upset them (take that one jungwon live, the jay live, even the fancalls) but it’s gotten to a point where no matter what they say, no one will believe their words because everyone is convinced they’re being held by gunpoint.
it’s something jungwon even brought up and joked about in his live today because it’s the single thing engenes have been holding onto to justify why they believe the members are referring to themselves as 6. if anything, it comes off more insulting that you believe the same guy who has cleared any previous misunderstanding wouldn’t be certain with the things he says.
i know it’s hard to just move on from six years like that, and fans are allowed to mourn, but to refuse them of any autonomy and basically tell them in their face that you think they hold no worth as 6 is just disrespectful. if heeseung and they were able to carry on past this, i don’t see why fans can’t. this ask was even sent 2 days ago, which means heeseung has already been a soloist for weeks now. you can tell he looks so much happier with the music he’s creating so i don’t get why you’d want to take that away from him by telling him his worth only lies in enhypen.
i genuinely could write so much more about this all because the past 4 months have shown me that engenes are 1) unable to handle change 2) don’t respect enha and heeseung or see them as actual people who make their own decisions and 3) are all going through mental psychosis
there is no ot7 because enhypen IS 6. if you really cared about all 7 of them, you’d support heeseung in the solo career he wants, and support the remaining 6 in their career as enhypen. and if after today’s live you’re still one of those people who believes a few hashtags and boycotting will change anything, in jungwon’s own words, you shouldn’t be considered fans.
