āDragons. Why is it always Dragons?ā
Did a new drawing of Meena, tried for some movement and dynamic lighting (which I thought was a great idea until I started doing it lol). Iām fairly pleased with it.
Meena Redesign Colored!
Finished coloring! Tried my hand at shading and highlights. I like it so far, and probably will get a lot better the more I draw.Ā
Constructive feedback would be welcomed! Positive vibes are also awesome!Ā
Meena Bafflestone Redesign.Ā
I decided to work on digital artwork which I havenāt really done since my tweeny anime phase. I like to think Iāve improved, and hopefully will keep getting better.
Redesigned Meena a bit, made her look a bit older/more mature. Tried to keep the same fun, sweet vibe without being as childish. Used a side profile to keep it simple, focus on the design and trying to relearn digital.
This is the line art so far. I will probably use this as coloring practice, so a colored version will be added eventually.
Thatās all the journal entries I have for now. I will definitely add more as we play more.Ā
For now, hereās a drawing I did of Meena! Aināt she sweet?
Dear Journal,
Iām going to stick with these guys for a while, do some more work with them and travel more. Weāre heading to another port city for some more work, but it will take a while to get there. A sparrow told me a hilarious joke today, and Iād write it down but Iāve forgotten it. Great day!
Dear Journal,
We made our delivery today. It was so accomplishing to finish up a job like that, and Iāve helped so many people along the way. I think I like this kind of work, even though there are less legal things Iām not sure Iām comfortable with yet. I really like my companions, theyāre a very unique bunch. Also, we killed a giant frog monster today too. What a weird way to end the day, huh?
Dear Journal,
I met a witch today. We took a detour on our route to help out a crocodile that was actually an elf, and ended up fighting this witch who was turning folks into animals when they broke a deal with her, or when they simply annoyed her. How rude. Anyway, we killed her and freed the enchanted folk as well as helped the crocodile-elf. Overall, real good day of helping people!
Dear Journal,
I just met the others Iāll be working with for the next little while. Another gnome, a halfling and a goblin. Itās nice to be working with little people ā my neck hurts after working with big people too long. Iām not sure what to think of them just yet. Theyāre pretty quiet, so I end up talking the most. I hope they donāt mind. Iām sure Iāll get to know them soon and weāll all be really good friends!
Dear Journal,
A new year, and a new job! I overheard a fella dropping off his horse talking about finding some mercenaries for a job. Now, I donāt think Iām no mercenary, but I do want to see the world. The job is protecting a cart of goods and bringing it to someone far away. I figured, what better way to start my world travels then by helping someone! So now Iāll be joining whatever group is put together and be out of the city by the end of the week. Also, the sweet rolls out here are amazing ā they have little chopped up nuts and berries in them. How delicious!
Dear Journal,
I have been in the big city for a few months, and wow is it different from my small town. People donāt know me, and even though those blasted songs have traveled all the way out here, people donāt know my face belongs to the name. I got a job in the stables, making sure the horses and oxen have everything they need. I really enjoy it. A big fella named Darwin bit me the other day, and I could only think of Albert. Good times!
Dear Journal,
I have decided to leave. I got tired real quick from all the hero worship, and I need a little space. I dearly love our little town, but I think I will do some traveling, pick up some odd jobs and see the world a little. Pa agrees and with all the business heās getting just by knowing me, heāll manage fine while Iām gone. I think Iāll head to the port. Thereās always interesting things happening at port cities, and Iām sure I could find a nice quiet job for a while there. Maybe Iāll become a woodworker like Pa!
Dear Journal,
I am sick and tired of this squirrel-fart situation! Itās been weeks since the dragon, and no one will stop talking about it. I canāt go anywhere without people thanking me, and offering me things and trying to serve me. Itās ridiculous! I just want to pay a fair price for my sweet rolls like everyone else, I donāt need a big basket full for free! I donāt know if I can stand it much longer. The town is doing well, people have all reopened their shops, there are tons of merchants buying the dragon parts, and even a new bank has opened (under careful scrutiny). Everyone is doing great! (Now if they would just leave me aloneā¦)
Dear Journal,
I think I might be dreaming. The town is on a rampage! The story of the Surefoots has spread, and now everyone is calling me a hero. With all the bits of the dead dragon to sell, and no traitorous bank-thieves bleeding us dry, the town is going to recover and blossom. Iām a little shook up, Iāve never really killed anything before outside food slaughter, but I suppose he was a very bad dragon so itās okay, right? Anywho, itās all hands on deck to butcher this guy so weāll be busy for quite a while.
Dear Journal,
I have had a rough day. I brought the eyeball with me to confront those Surefoots, but ran into some of the townsfolk along the way. I was incensed and explained to them the entire story, and they very nicely formed an angry mob in support. However, by the time we got to the Surefoots bank, the story had spread and those dirt-farts had gotten wind and fled with as much of their money as they could carry. If I ever see those insults to gnome-kind I will have some very cross words for them. Anywho, Iām very tired and just a smidge gravely injured, so Iām going home to sleep.
Dear Journal,
I met the dragon. I also might have ended up fighting the dragon. Good thing I had that training! My animal buddies were helpfully able to tell me where the dragon lived so I went to visit him (I thought to bring him a casserole, but what kind of casserole does a dragon like?). His name is āJeffery Bezsos, the Doom of Societyā. Also, wasnāt quite as big as I thought heād be. Runt of his litter, he told the Surefoots - those deceitful, horrible, rude, dunderheads! ā that if they helped him find food and get bigger, heād make sure they became very wealthy and powerful while only taking a small percentage of their profit. Well, I was understandably appalled at the lack of honor my fellows gnomes-men have ā and I will be having stern words with them later ā but all the same managed to politely ask the dragon to find elsewhere to live and stop eating livestock and travelers. He said no, there was a lot of dodging flames and claws, and firing of arrows, and then I got a lucky shot to his eye. Now Iāve got a great big eyeball speared on the end of my arrow as proof when I confront those good-for-nothing Surefoots!
Dear Journal,
I found the source of the problem. Itās a dragon! Who would have thought, huh? I started my search with the herds since they were the ones going missing. The sheep were so terrified I couldnāt get a bleat out of them, but their guard dog was incredibly helpful. Told me one day a new scent ā āan awfully overpowering smell of danger and deathā ā showed up not long before all this started. He stayed up one night to fight off this new threat and saw it was a dragon ā āthe size of three horses stacked on top of each otherā. He apparently then decided he didnāt care if he lost his guard-dog job ā āI wanna protect my herd, but I aināt dumb enough to fight a dragonā ā and has left the beast unchallenged to come and go as it pleases. So, all I have to do is find this dragon and politely ask it to leave and our problems will be solved!
