@meetrix
Tagged by @deadsummerdays, who thought I might have already done this, but I’ve never actually answered one of these things before: too lazy. But the lockdown seems the perfect occasion, so here goes. Name: Vlada
Nickname: Vladochka
Zodiac: Taurus
Height: 5'8", but I’m never out of high heels and platforms, so 6'2"
Languages: English, Russian
Nationality: Russian, hence Vladochka
Favorite season: Used to be spring and summer. Now that I’m fat and eternally hot, winter.
Favorite flower: Mini calla lilies in fancy colors
Favorite animal: Cat, duh. Second favorite is red panda. I love things that are too perfect to be real, and red pandas are clearly cartoon characters.
Favorite scent: The way clothes used to smell after a night out dancing – a mix of perfume, clean sweat, and cigarette smoke. Haven’t smelled it in years and probably never will again.
Favorite fictional character: I’m not big on characters; to me, they’re mere reflections of the actors and/or writers who create them. Since I have to choose, I’ll take someone out of Dostoevsky, incredibly complex and deep. And probably evil.
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Coffee. In all its infinite variety, from strong Turkish with no sugar to instant with five sugars and cream galore. A particular favorite is con leche the way they (used to?) make it on the Upper East Side – a thimble of coffee to a big mug of milk, and the coffee is still all you can taste.
Average sleep: Depends on how bored or excited I am
Favorite color: Blue and green
Dogs or cats: Cats. Used to be dogs, but then I got a cat.
Number of blankets: None, just a sheet. Again, fat and eternally hot.
Dream trip: Anywhere my infatuation du jour is performing live. Currently that would be Britain to see David Tennant, though I’m skipping him in Good because I don’t see how it gives him the opportunity to act like a slut.
Blog established: 2013
Random fact: It turns out Scots were pretty instrumental in Russian history. In the 19th century, two of them established Moscow’s fanciest department store, which still exists; one led the army in the fabled war of 1812, and appears in War and Peace; and Russia’s second-greatest poet, Lermontov, was a descendant of a Scottish soldier named Learmonth.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pretty straight. I do have a thing for gay male bottoms, which nowadays permits me to describe myself as queer, but that strikes me as pretentious.
Harry Potter Moral Compass: I’m too old for that shit
Where you’re from: Moscow, Russia
Why you started this blog: I had a crush on Benedict Cumberbatch and stumbled on Tumblr with its fan blogs. Had to create my own so I could reblog all the delicious smut.
Most recent album played: Music’s not really a big part of my life – I have to be in the mood for it. When I am, I go on youtube and cast my own perfect operas by “auditioning” all the available singers. The last opera was The Magic Flute, the aria was Tamino’s “Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön”, and the winner was the Finnish tenor Topi Lehtipuu, who not only has the prerequisite youthful sound but also looks the part.
