28. Your favorite theme park

Disneyland will always have my heart. It’s the original and it’s the first one I ever went to, the only park I went to until my first college program last year.

Disneyland is home.

3. What important items are on your packing list?

All my important documents, like the I-9 forms, boarding pass, itinerary, etc. Also gifts for my future roommates! And then things that’ll make the apartment feel like home, like my favorite stuffed animals, pictures of my friends and family, and little things to hang on the walls like my Suicide Squad posters. ;D

Disney/DCP 30 Day Challenge: Day 25, 26, & 27!

25. Your favorite scene from your favorite movie

Well, we’ve established that I love Frozen, and though it may not be my favorite movie of all time, I’ll use that.

And no, I won’t say Let It Go is my favorite scene. 

I probably can’t find a gif to encompass my entire favorite scene, but the climax of the film where Kristoff and Sven are racing across the fjord, dodging the ships and Anna is making her way across the ice and Elsa is just trying to get the hell out while Hans pursues her is beautifully done. Especially the beautiful silent moment when Hans tells Elsa she’s killed Anna and Elsa’s grief makes the storm come to a sudden standstill, Anna and Kristoff see each other across the fjord, but then Anna makes the decision to go save Elsa.

26. Saddest death

Mufasa, Mufasa, Mufasa.

I just remember being traumatized by the wildebeest stampede and the way Simba yells “Dad!” when he falls, and then finds him at the bottom of the gorge and tugs on him and tells him he has to get up, and then Scar comes and rubs it in that it’s Simba’s “fault”. It still gets me.

It’s also followed by the horrifying, yet well-done, scene where Scar assumes control of Pride Rock and all the hyenas show up. 

27. Your favorite quote

“Why worry? If you’ve done the very best you can, worrying won’t make it any better.” - Walt Disney

This quote got me through a lot of waiting and wondering and worrying and stress when I applied for (especially) my first college program, but also my second.

6. Do you plan on going to housing events?

I’d love to! My first program, I swear I worked almost every time there was a housing event! Hopefully things work better this time!

5. Are you excited about your role? If you could pick any other role, which one would you pick?

Yes. I definitely had fun in attractions my first program and I’m looking forward to hopefully experiencing another attraction. If I could pick any other role, well, my second choice was character attendant. I love the characters and think that role would be so fun! :D

4. What is the first thing you will do once you are able to get into the parks?

Hmm. I think a lot of people would say “Watch Wishes”? I’m not a huge fan of Wishes, but I love Celebrate the Magic and Festival of Fantasy. So, watch those, ride some of my favorite rides, like Haunted Mansion, and get me some delicious mac and cheese, either from Friar Nook’s or Columbia Harbor House!

20. Favorite sequel

Toy Story 2, I actually enjoy it more than the original Toy Story

The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, because it has some great great songs, and I find Zira, Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani very entertaining!

21. An overrated movie

Ay. In my opinion, Inside Out. It’s not a bad movie by any means, but I think it got A LOT of hype before it came out and then when it came out. For me, it just didn’t live up to the expectations I felt the hype had created for it. 

22. An underrated movie

The Emperor’s New Groove. It’s buried in between a lot of the bad CGI/bad decisions Disney made in the early 2000s, but it’s absolutely hilarious.

 23. A movie that makes you laugh

Even though Tangled is featured below for making me cry, it always makes me laugh too.

The Emperor’s New Groove has so many funny one liners.

Monsters Inc.

Finding Nemo

Frozen, which I find less “haha, laugh out loud” and more “wow, that line was really sly and clever”.

24. A movie that makes you cry

So many, so I won’t bother to GIF them. 

Tangled really gets to me, especially the scenes with her parents. They have no lines in the film but the animation is so strong that I just feel SO BAD for them and then so overjoyed when they’re reunited at the end.

Brave gets to me too, I think because I see a lot of my relationship with my mom reflected in Merida’s relationship with hers. 

Finding Nemo always makes me upset. Sometimes sad-upset, sometimes overjoyed-upset.

Up, of course. 

The end of Mulan where she brings her father the sword, thinking that’s what’ll make him happy, and he delivers the “the greatest gift and honor is having you for a daughter” line. 

I’m an easy-crier so really any Disney scene filled with heartfelt music and/or dialogue gets to me.

11. How did you hear about the program?

Hmm. Pretty sure I had a friend or two in college who had done it. I heard them talk about it/saw them post things on their Facebook and thought I better look into it!

10. Will you make magic moments or will you be strictly business.

Strictly business all the time is literally no fun, and impossible to do at Disney, I think. I’m definitely not the best at magical moments (some of my co-workers seemed to do it all the time, effortlessly without thought) but when I see an opportunity or a worthy family/couple/guest, I try and always make it happen. 

9. Do you plan to extend your program?

TBD, honestly. I extended my last program and it was a great decision but I have some...other plans...that I’m going to try and put into action. Extending would be a back-up. :D

8. Is this your first program? Will you do another?

No, my second. And, related to the extensions, TBD. Who knows what Spring 2017 will hold for me. :D

7. Are you taking any of Disney’s classes while you’re here?

Yes! Hospitality and Guest Service. I think that’s what it’s called. I signed up totally on a whim. My first program, I took Disney Heritage and Entertainment Show Production!

15. The first movie you saw

In general, it was Casper, and I was so scared that we had to leave.

Disney-wise, which I assume is what this wants, it was The Lion King!

16. Your favorite classic

Okay, so, I don’t know what is now technically considered a classic. I’d consider it everything before the Disney Renaissance, maybe even everything before all those awful things they made in the 70s and early 80s.

So, Cinderella!

17. Your least favorite classic

There might be a classic movie out there that I like less than Peter Pan but I really don’t like Peter Pan. 

I like Wendy and Tink a lot,  but that’s where my enjoyment ends. I don’t like Peter Pan, I’m not a huge fan of all the racist songs, it’s just a movie I had never seen until a few years ago and I was massively disappointed when I did. 

18. Your favorite Pixar film

I’m torn between Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. Both make me cry, both I can watch and never get tired of, both have some of the best quotable lines!

19. Your least favorite Pixar film

Cars. And Cars 2, though I’ve never seen it, but I can’t imagine it’s any better (and is probably worse) than Cars.

Honorable mention: I don’t dislike Inside Out, I just think it’s really overrated.

16. Will you save your money or splurge on something special?

A little of both. I try to come down to Florida with enough money already in my bank account that I’m not living paycheck to paycheck and if I have something I really want, I can buy it. I splurged on the Haunted Mansion Dooney and Burke purse on my first program and I carry it every day. :D

15. Why do you want to work for Disney?

Disney is one of my greatest passions/interests in life (alongside Marvel, DC, Game of Thrones, all these other things they don’t offer College Programs for). I’ve always loved being at Disney. Doing the CP didn’t cross my mind until I had a friend from home who did it, and I just thought, woah, I can help be a part of the magic and the special experience I love so much while also getting to experience it ALL THE TIME!

14. Would you like to continue working for Disney after your program is over?

Most definitely, though I’d prefer to be in California, so that’s the endgame this time around. I’d love to be a show writer. I love Disney, I love writing, I want to combine the two!

13. What college do you go to and what is your major?

Well, I have a BA in Theatre, minor in Media Arts from The University of New Mexico and I’m currently enrolled at Arizona State University in a graduate non-degree program, taking online graduate film classes. :)

12. How do you think the program will help you with your future career?

It’s great just to get a foot in the door at Disney. Even if you start off loading people on Peter Pan or serving turkey legs, it can all lead to a lot more. I’d like to use this as a jumping off point to get a PI or go work at Disneyland, where I’d hopefully continue on in the company.

11. Your favorite love song

This is easy for me:

“Beauty and the Beast” from Beauty and the Beast. Yes, this is its name, it’s not actually called “Tale as Old as Time”

”I See the Light” from Tangled

“What if it’s not everything I dreamed it would be?”

“It will be.”

12. Your favorite villain song

“Be Prepared” from The Lion King

“Poor Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid

“And don’t underestimate the importance of...BODY LANGUAGE!”

“Hellfire” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

I don’t like this movie, like, at all, but this is a great, powerful song. 

Honorable mention to:

 “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen. Already one of my favorite songs, it might not be the most “in yo’ face” villain song ever (or sound like a villain song at all), but the subtleties are great. :D

“Mother Knows Best (reprise)” from Tangled. Because if you aren’t certain that Mother Gothel is up to no good, she basically spells it out. And the way she appears out of nowhere and then subsequently disappears with a swish of her cloak is terrifying.

13. Your least favorite song

These aren’t worth gif-ing, so I’ll just make a list

Anything Quasimodo has an active hand in singing in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. “God Help the Outcasts” is beautiful, “The Bells of Notre Dame” is mysterious, but anytime Quasimodo sings, I want him to stop.

Any of Disney’s early-film blatantly racist songs. I’m lookin’ at you, “What Made the Red Man Red” (and almost everything else in Peter Pan), as well as the “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat” and the racist crow song from Dumbo.

“Human Again” and “The Morning Report” from Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, respectively. Two cut songs that got put back in for the Blu-ray releases, neither add much of anything. 

Everything in Pocahontas that Pocahontas doesn’t sing. “Mine Mine Mine” is just bad and the rest are forgettable. 

14. Your favorite kiss

My all time favorite, because the build-up to it is so wonderful. Their kiss in Tangled Ever After is pretty great too. 

Not a huge fan of Aladdin in general, though it does have great music, but this kiss is adorable and unlike most Disney movies, we don’t need to wait until the end to see it happen!

Honorable mention to: This little cheek kiss in Frozen, after Kristoff has just been a bumbling idiot.

20. How many times have you visited Disney before your program?

Before my first program last year, I had never ever been to Walt Disney World. But I’ve been to Disneyland a total of 7 times. I love it so much.  I’d love to go the international parks someday too!

19. Where else in Orlando would you like to visit?

Universal Studios! I loved it so much when I went last time and wished I had gone sooner!

The beaches. My friends and I took a little day trip to Daytona Beach and it was so much fun. I guess that isn’t in Orlando, oops

18. What are the top 3 things on your DCP bucket list?

Uh. I honestly don’t have a bucket list, but here ya go:

Eat the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream

Go to Blizzard Beach

Dress up with roommates and/or friends and go to MNNSHP.

17. Would you like to stay in a resort on property? Which one or why not?

I’ve stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter, Coronado Springs, All-Star Movies, and the Wilderness Lodge. LOVED the WL and would totally stay there again, but if money wasn’t an issue, I’d love to stay at the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, the Boardwalk, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Disney/DCP 30 Day Challenge: Day 8, 9, & 10!

I leave on the 17th, which is 15 days away, and I don’t think I’ll be updating this as we drive from New Mexico to Florida so I’m trying to cram this all into a few posts. :D

8. Your favorite villain

Here I shall once again showcase my indecisiveness.

Maleficent. Mal is my favorite in a movie that I really don’t like otherwise.

I recently re-watched Snow White for the first time in forever and was astounded at how little actually happens in this movie.  The Evil Queen stands out to me as the most interesting thing going on in between endless (though funny!) scenes of the dwarfs washing their hands and playing music, etc etc.

Gaston, because he spends the first part of the movie preening and being ridiculous and then you realize he’s actually a really bad dude.

And his song is great.

Hans, for similar reasons.

I love Frozen a lot, okay, and one of the reasons is the ingenious way the film uses the villain. Elsa’s the stand-in villain for a large part of the film, if only because there isn’t another to be found, and then BAM! Hans delivers his “If only there was someone out there who loved you” line and everyone’s like “Ohhhhhhhhh”.

It gets even better on re-watch when you see all the little details peppered in that indicate from the get-go that Hans is up to no good.

9. Your favorite original character

Had to Google “Disney original characters” because I didn’t know what this meant. Haha.

Gotta give it up to Mickey Mouse, my once and future boss, the OG, the big cheese, etc etc. 

10. Your favorite song

More indecisiveness, incoming.

“Love is an Open Door”. In a film full of great music, this song stands out to me because it’s just so fun. And it’s a low-key villain song disguised as a love song. 

“Let it Go”. I know everyone is sick to death of hearing this song, but I love it forever. It’s such an empowering moment for Elsa.

“Part of Your World”. My favorite song in this movie (next to “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, which I’m saving for “villain song”). 

And it’s a lovely piece of evidence to use when people say that Ariel only wanted to become human to be with Eric. 

“Almost There”. You can’t help but root for Tiana. And Anika Noni Rose has such a lovely voice.

“Belle”. Beauty and the Beast is one of my other all-time favorites. It’s establishing song is one of the best.

“When Will My Life Begin”. Tangled is another movie that has solidly wonderful music all the way throughout, but Rapunzel’s jaunty little “I want” song is my favorite.

23. Do you plan on going resort hopping?

Probably! Resort hopping can be a great way to bond with your roommates and have some fun when you can’t get into the park yet your first few days! :D So I’d definitely like to. I’d love to go check out Art of Animation, which I didn’t get to do my first program!

22. Will you collect any memorabilia or souvenirs on your program?

If I had a picture of all the things I bought on my first program, you’d know the answer would be “of course!”. Haha, I’m addicted to Disney and compelled to buy anything I really really like, especially if it’s Frozen, Little Mermaid, or Haunted Mansion themed. 

It’s also a great opportunity to get some Christmas gifts for family and friends!

21. What are you looking forward to the least about the program?

The humidity. My hair is naturally wavy, inclined to frizzy, so I tend to look crazy.

The bugs.

Leaving my parents again. I had a hard time and was so homesick my first program. I’m really hoping my roommates and I can become a close knit family and that maybe that’ll help with some of my loneliness.

5. Your favorite hero

This is so weird and obscure and probably not my favorite if I actually thought about it, but I’m not like a huge fan of Aladdin or Milo from Atlantis, but I am a weirdly huge fan of Tron: Legacy, so the award’s gonna go to Sam Flynn. I guess.

I mean look at that face, he’s glorious. GLORIOUS.

Honorable mention to:

Baby Simba. Because he’s awesome. And then he grows up and has Matthew Broderick as his adult voice and it’s all over.

6. Your favorite animal

Roo-sa-fee!

AKA, Lucifer.

I love this smarmy chubby cat. :D

7. Your favorite sidekick

Learn now that I am super indecisive, so here’s 3:

Pascal. He’s the perfect sassy companion for Rapunzel

Sven and Olaf. Because I love Frozen.

Sebastian and Flounder. Total opposites and both perfect companions to Ariel. I especially love how Sebastian looks out for Ariel once she gets her legs. :D

26. What complex would you most like to live in?

The Commons. That’s our #1 choice! I lived in Chatham my first program and was scarred by the ugly green carpets so a big positive about the Commons IMO is the wood floor. And the free laundry, of course! Fingers crossed! If not, Chatham and Patterson (Chat and Patt!) are next.

Vista Waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy is last. 

25. What are your goals for the program?

I want to hopefully attend more movie nights/housing events/speaker series, etc. I know a lot of it is out of my hands (last program, I worked literally every time there was an event) but I hope I can become more involved and make some connections!

Shallower goals: I never got to go to Blizzard Beach, and I also have a laundry list of restaurants I need to try: Tusker House, Beaches and Cream, Sanaa, Tutto Italia, Crystal Palace, Cape May, etc. I also must revist some of my faves like Via Napoli, Be Our Guest, Rose and Crown, Boma, 1900 Park Fare. Etc etc!

24. Which park is your favorite?

So. My favorite park ever is Disneyland, because it’s so near and dear to my heart and feels like home. :D So, for that reason, my favorite WDW park is Magic Kingdom, because it feels the most similar to my home. :D

Honorable mention to Hollywood Studios, because I love the theming. And I worked at Epcot, so it’ll always hold a special place in my heart, even if it’s honestly my least favorite park.

3. Your favorite heroine

Agh, I was trying to pick one that wasn’t a princess since I basically proclaimed my love for all the princesses yesterday...

But no.

Just in terms of basic “I admire her” heroicness, I’d go for Tiana. 

I adore her, and I think she’s such a positive role model.

The early early Disney princesses (Snow, Cinderella, Aurora) are all classified by their general passiveness, y’know? They spend a lot of time waiting for other people to do things and rescue them. So I enjoy the “active” princesses who are pretty much like “f- this” and take matters into their own hands. 

Honorable mentions to:

Mulan, for the reasons above. And

Nala, who obviously wears the pants in the relationship.

4. Your favorite prince

Flynnnnnn Riderrrrrrrr/Eugene Fitzherbert. 

Everyone loves Flynn, I know.

Also Eric

He wins the award for probably being the first prince (except maybe Phillip) who actually does much of anything.

And he’s a handsome animated dude. 

DCP 30 Day Challenge

28. Where would you most like to work?

So. I don’t want to jinx anything by getting too specific. So, I’d love to work at Magic Kingdom. That’d be my main goal. It’s just so magical! Despite the “Tragic Kingdom” nickname it’s earned. Or Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. I think because I worked at Epcot, I mostly just want to experience a new park!

27. Have you picked out roommates or will you let Disney assign them?

I’ve picked them out. Fingers crossed DORMS doesn’t screw us over. 

I was totally gonna go random because my first program, I picked roommates via Facebook and our relationships with one another were less than stellar, but I’m really feeling great about this group of girls in a way I never felt the first time. :)

Day 1: Your Favorite Character

Elsa. It’s Elsa. Elsa all the way. I could write an entire post about why I love Elsa, but the short version would be that I see a lot of myself in her and I can relate to her various struggles and issues.

Also she’s majestic AF. 

P.S. Frozen is one of my all-time faves, always and forever.

Day 2: Your Favorite Princess

It’d be Elsa except she isn’t technically a princess.  I love so many of the princesses, I’m definitely a classic Disney princess lover through and through. I’d say, though, I’m torn between Belle and Ariel. 

But Anna’s also a huge dork and I love her:

And then I also love Tiana, Rapunzel, and Cinderella.

All the princesses. I love them all. 

DCP 30 Day Challenge

Day 30: What role will you be working?

I will be in Attractions, for the second time! I did attractions at Epcot last fall! Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, whoop whoop!

Day 29: What are you most looking forward to do on your days off?

Going to the parks, of course! :D Also I’m really thinking of getting an AP to Universal because I just love it so much. :D My last program, I didn’t go to Universal until I’d been in Florida for almost 10 months and then it was so amazing, I was like “what’s wrong with me?! why didn’t I do this earlier?!” :)

So I actually only have 25 days until check-in and 20 days until I leave home (I’m driving and we’ll be taking a road trip to Orlando), so some of these days will be smushed together, but I’ve wanted to do this and just forgot!

Updated Packing List!

With the perspective that comes from trying to pack up all the stuff you bought and brought that you didn’t need and shove it back into your car when your program is over, I’ve updated my packing list, found under “Packing List!” at the top of the page! :) 

You WILL buy stuff on your college program. It’s inevitable. With your discount and Cast Connections and just being surrounded by Disney merch, you will come back with more than you left with. 

So, sending stuff home is a good option! 

Unless you’re like me and forget to do so until the day before you leave for home, which happens to be a Sunday, which means the post office is closed. ;D

Let Me Breathe Some Life Into This Blog Again

I’m so terrible at keeping up with things.

I made this blog originally to chronicle my 2015 Spring Advantage College Program. I made a packing list post and then I just stopped updating. 

So let’s try again!

I’ve added an “About Me” which gives a super brief summary of what I’ve been up to, but to summarize it again, even briefer!:

I went to Florida!

Worked in Merchandise at WDW from January to the end of July @ (Downtown) Disney Springs

Extended into Attractions! Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT

Went back home to New Mexico in January!

Totally screwed up and missed the deadline to apply for the Summer Alumni program!

Said “oh well!” and applied for the Fall College Program!

Got accepted for Attractions, again!

I’ll be checking in on August 22nd!

Packing for the Disney College Program!

I'm notorious for procrastinating and leaving packing until the last minute.  The car we're taking is small, so I'm trying to plot out what I need to bring.  This rambling list probably won't be helpful for anyone, but if I get what I need in writing, I'm hoping it'll be easier to not forget anything. :D

We're going shopping in Orlando the day before check in, so I'll make a small list at the end of the things I'll wait to buy until we get there. 

Also, some of this are things you need to figure out with your roommates, obviously, because no one needs 6 toasters! Haha

Important Things

I-9 Documents. (I'm probably just going to bring my driver's license and my SS card.)

A valid photo ID (once again, if I use my driver's license for my I-9, I'm set.)

A blank check, so I can set up my direct deposit

Car registration

Car insurance (the insurance doesn't have to be under your name, but it should show you on the insurance.  Like, the car is my mom's, but the insurance will cover me.)

Clothing (vague, because I have no idea what to bring for sure)

Business Casual things (for classes, training, Traditions)

Short sleeve shirts

Tank tops

A handful of cooler-weather clothes (because Florida can, apparently, be pretty bipolar through February)

Outerwear (I don't really own any hoodies.  I have some sweatshirts and cardigans)

A coat? (Probably not needed for Florida, but we're driving, and it's cold where I live, so I'll probably end up inadvertently bringing one anyway)

An Update!

So, it's been a few months since my last post! I feel so bad. I basically made this blog, did a few cursory posts, and then got so busy...

Anyway, an update on my life and DCP things!

I graduated from college a couple weeks ago! So yay! It's nice to finally be done.  I had a small moment of "oh, am I ever gonna see these people again?", but then I remembered I was headed to WDW in a couple weeks. :D Four and a half years is enough, and I wish the best to everyone still in the theatre department at my college, but I'm glad to be done. :)

My friend Blair and I found four lovely ladies to be our roommates! It all happened really quickly. We posted our surveys on the DCP Facebook page, and were contacted by Roomie #1.  Let's call her A. I'll keep the names incognito, I know not everyone has a tumblr and stuff. A decided Blair and I sounded pretty spiffy to room with, so she became our first roommate! Then, another girl contacted Blair and for awhile, we were four! And then I was cruising the Facebook page again and came across A2's video roommate survey.  She seemed super exciting and nice so we approached each other! Now, we had 5! We were still looking for our magical 6th roomie. Well, A2, about a day later, found L, roomie #6! We were like "yay, we have the 6 we wanted!" Well, not quite. So, X, the girl that contacted Blair and became our fourth roommate, had a friend get into the program.  She had promised her friend they would room, and wondered if she could add her friend to our 6.  Well, the problem was, we had all agreed a few days prior that we were going to try and stick to 6, because having 8 ladies in a house was something that, by choice, we wouldn't want.  We could very well end up forced into a 8-person apartment on check-in day, but if we had a choice, 6 was good.  So X said she understood, and she went to room with her friend. And now we were back to 5! Well, A1 had been X's roomie, so she asked if we would let her seek out the last girl, since she would be sharing the room with her.  We agreed and, about a day later, A1 found S! So, now, the 6 of us are just about ready to go! We only have a few days before we get out DORMS IDs and link up with each other and we're all so excited. :D

Lastly. There are 10 days before I leave.  My check-in is January 12th, but my parents and I are taking a road trip.  I live in New Mexico, which is about 26 hours away.  We're leaving on Wednesday, January 7th, and driving to Mesquite, TX that night.  We'll stay there and get up early on Thursday morning and drive to New Orleans! I've always wanted to go to New Orleans.  Originally, we were just going to stay in New Orleans one night and get up and head to Orlando, but it seemed like a waste to just blow through some place I'd always wanted to visit, so we've decided to spend all day Friday in New Orleans.  We'll probably go on a haunted tour, and see a plantation, and eat beignets.  Lots of stereotypical NOLA stuff! And then, Saturday, the 10th (which is also my mom's birthday) we'll leave New Orleans and drive to Orlando.  Sunday, we've basically planned on buying some things that aren't worth shoving in the car, trying to take the monorail around WDW, and maybe seeing a movie at the cool AMC in Downtown Disney!

Just a little update on things! Time seems like it's gone fast, with the holidays, and graduation, and suddenly, there's only 10 days left until departure! :D

My Roommate Survey!!!

We're both over 21, so we want non-wellness, but only if we can find some cool people who don't plan on spending all their free time partying like crazy. :)

Do you party? How often? Sometimes. But, like, low-key party.

Do you smoke? Nope

Do you drink? I will probably order myself some fancy international drinks from, like, Epcot or something. I don’t like straight alcohol, I think it tastes awful, so I require my drinks to be as fancy as possible. Haha.

Can you cook? Err...I make pretty good desserts! And I can probably bum some recipes off of my mom. :D

Are you a night person or morning person? Night person, by far! But I can deal with the morning, after I've been up for a few minutes. :)

Do you snore? No! I'm very quiet. :)

What does your bedroom normally look like? I like keeping it mostly clean. It's not neat as can be, but when things start getting to disorganized, I get anxious, so I keep it...pretty clean. :)

Do you like it when your room is hot or cold? I'd rather it be cold.

Would you rather go out or stay in? Both.:D Like, I like relaxing, but when Walt Disney World is just a few minutes away, it’s gonna be hard to stay in.

What do you like to do on your days off/the weekend? Hang out with friends, surf Tumblr, read, relax, go to movies and, obviously, GO TO THE PARKS!!!! :D Disneybound. Explore the resorts. ANYTHING! :D

Do you work out a lot? hahahaha.

How annoying is your alarm clock? How often do you press “snooze”? My alarm is my iPod and it's been set to "Love is an Open Door" for the last 10 months. I press "snooze" pretty often, but as long as you don't mind Anna and Hans singing their little hearts out, then we'll be fine. :D

How would you handle a “bug situation”? Badly. I hate bugs. I need to live with at least one person who's better at handling bugs than me because I will just scream.

Should the toilet paper be over or under? Over!

Do you hang your clothes or fold them? Both. I hang most of my clothes-clothes, and fold everything else.

How often do you shower? Mornings or nights? Every day, though I only wash my hair every other day (aka, I only take a LONG shower every other day). Usually mornings. But I’ll probably adjust depending on my work schedule.

Will we sing obnoxiously together? OF COURSE WE WILL! I can’t sing well, but I’ll sing.

PERSONALITY

One good quality: I'm a good listener, so feel free to come to me to talk about things.

One bad quality: Oh man, I'm horrible at making decisions. Never ask me where I want to go eat. It'll take an hour.

Are you outgoing or quiet? It depends on the people and the situation. I might be quiet at first but I'll open up. :)

Do you like hanging out with people or keeping to yourself? I love hanging out with people. Every once in a while, I need to just hang by myself for a little bit.

What would you want in a roommate? Fun, caring, laid back, someone who would go on an all-day Disney park spree or watch a movie marathon with me or go take pictures with all the characters. :D But also someone who would be considerate of everyone in the apartment.

What are your biggest pet peeves/dislikes? People that are negative all the time, for no reason, and people who are constantly trying to one-up others. Also, overly aggressive people.

Are you messy or organized? I'm mildly messy, mildly organized.

How do you feel about sharing? I'll usually share anything. :D I only have a few things I wouldn't loan to anyone.  As long as you ask, I’ll probably share!

• Do you like having people over a lot? Definitely. Not, like, 24/7, but people are great. :D As long as my roommates were okay with it.

• Favorite thing to do: watch movies, sing Disney songs, watch Disney movies, go shopping, read, tumble on Tumblr

• Favorite Music: OneRepublic, Fall Out Boy, The Script, Maroon 5, Panic! at the Disco, Florence + the Machine, Bastille, The Neighbourhood, any and all Disney music. I can basically abide anything that isn't abrasively twangy country music. :)

• Favorite TV Shows: Parks & Rec, Gotham, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, American Horror Story, Switched at Birth, Saturday Night Live, Parenthood, ONCE UPON A TIME, and cartoons. I like old 90s cartoons. Powerpuff Girls. Love me some Powerpuff Girls. :D

• Favorite Movies: Frozen, anything Disney,  good superhero movies (like the Dark Knight Trilogy and the Marc Webb Spider-Man movies and the Avengers), The Great Gatsby, Studio Ghibli films, Inception, Silver Linings Playbook, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I could literally go on and on...

The Beginning

So, let's christen this DCP blog with its first post! :)

My name is Megan, and I'm from New Mexico. On August 20th, the day that applications came out, I applied.  I had my WBI the same day. My phone interview was on August 24th. 

Well, 57 long long long days later, on October 20th, I was accepted for Spring Advantage 2015, Merchandise!!!!

Which means:

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!! :D

I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I jumped up and down. I was lucky enough to have my best friend right there with me when I found out I was accepted. :)

Anyway, this blog is going to be some pre-program ramblings, like me freaking out as my departure date gets closer, and me freaking out about having too many things I want to pack. 

And then, I hope to keep this blog up during my program and keep it updated with pictures and chronicles of my DCP life. :D
