âDefinitely not lately. No more bullet wounds.â Spencer let out a soft chuckle, remembering Megan as a little nursing student tending to the two holes in her chest. She was kind of thankful that she was the one that helped out with making sure her wounds healed properly. Years later all Spencer had from that horrible day was two small scars. âHas he been enrolled in any sports?â Spencer asked, keeping a close eye on Kai and the way he interacted with the other boy. Since coming to America, heâs been progressively getting better with other individuals. That was something she was beyond thankful for. She couldnât wait for the time that she could actually sign him up for sports. âActually no. They are having a girls day and out shopping. Definitely not what I wanted to spend my weekend doing.â She let out a wide smiling, knowing that the princesses needed their girl time. âWhat about you, enjoying your time with Noah?âÂ
âLet's keep it that way,â she hummed, giving an approving and authoritative nod. For a moment, she internally put on her scrubs. Spencer was actually the first gunshot victim she'd seen first hand and that sort of stayed with her. Not to mention anyone that was making the streets a little safer had her utmost respect. That day as a whole had been a learning experience in many ways. Mostly she'd since learned to not take her work home with her. Rookie move. âHe's playing t-ball right now and I believe next fall his parents uh... they have him signed up for pee wee next fall. It's going to be a busy year for him.â Despite having her own fortunate role in Noah's life, she still couldn't help feeling a sense of pride. After all, that bundle of joy was her creation. It showed with his bright blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. That goofy smile and distinctive chin, that was all Micah. Megan immediately cringed. Girls day outs, she didn't exactly miss those. Since her break-up, they were essentially nonexistent considering her friends and Morgan's overlapped more than she'd realized. âUh, yeah... we did some homework earlier but I had to get out of the apartment for a while....â Taking her phone out of her pocket, she sighed. âActually, I didnât realize how late it had gotten...â It was only six but that was late on a school night. âI think his mother will be here soon to pick him up...â
