So about Pokopia
I am obsessed with Pokopia lore, and honestly I think its either one of two things;
It's super far off into the future. I found a log in the destroyed PokeMart in the Wastelands that was talking about CDs. I can't remember the exact wording but its was along the lines of "Since servers are failing all over the world and people still want to listen to music we're bringing back CDs to listen to music, something our Great-Great Grandparents used."
So, lets assume that Great-Great Grandparents were Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed, LeafGreen generation. (So think like the main characters of those games.) So if they are the Great-Great Grandparents, and just giving a general age each generation had kids in their 30s. That's around 120 years right before all the humans left for space.
Then when you find the lore in the Skylands about how the earthquakes and what not after centuries Saffron will eventually be tall mountains (which they are when we as Ditto get to them) it's been centuries since the humans left. So with all that my first idea is Pokopia takes place 500-1000 years after the events of RBY/FrLg.
Second thing; a lot of people are assuming Professor Oak was Tangrowth's trainer. (I don't but to go off that theory) the destructive climate change had to happen right after Black 2 & White 2.
The mainline games are split into two timelines. Generation 1-5 takes place in the first timeline, Generation 6 and onwards takes place in the Mega timeline. When Az used the Ultimate Weapon, and the residual energy from the weapon being used cause Mega Evolutions, Z Moves, Dynamax, Terrastilization, etc. So this means Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire take place in the second timeline even though its a remake of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
So RBY/FrLg take place at the same time as RSE, and alternatively GSC take place the same time as DPPl 3 years later. Then Black and White take place years after GSC/DPPl, and Black2 White2 take place 2 years after BW.
So if Tangrowth was Oak's Pokemon then the humans left for space right after either B2W2 or Wind & Waves, since it will most likely have a gimmick putting it in the Mega Timeline.
But the lore from the unnamed Professor imply that their grandchild that plays with Tangela is suuuuper young. So if that's referring to Blue (Oaks grandson) I don't know of any anime/manga/games of Blue playing with a Tangela, or Oak.
So I REALLY think it has been ~100 years since the events of RBY/FrLg when PokeEarth starts going wack and the humans book it to space.
Still can't figure out what caused the climate issues, whether it was legendary/mythical Pokemon or the humans, or both.
